SCARED! EC on Friday, need advice!

Hello Everyone, im in real need of advice and encouragement from all you girlies, im having my first ec on friday and i am petrafied about the procedure.
We only have 6-7 follies, and it will be done under sedation, so any one who has had sedation and can share the true experiance with me i will be forever thankful.

EC is really not that bad, i was sedated and i would put it on the same par as a smear test just slightly uncomfortable but not painful. the whole procedure takes about 20 mins.

Put it this way i would do it again if i needed too.

ET is a breeze you dont feel a thing and its over in seconds.

Try and relax and get plenty of rest.

You'll be sedated, so won't feel a thing!
I had no pain afterward either.
You'll see that its really easy, so is ET.

Charlie, I've had several (5) ECs and the sedation normally means I'm super relaxed and half asleep by the time the interesting stuff starts to happen! Sometimes I've been only woozy throughout but this is actually great as it means you see and understand what's going on and feel part of the process. You also get to hear immediately how many eggs have been collected which is the highlight afterall! In terms of discomfort during the procedure, I'd agree with Joanna, it's uncomfortable but given the aim is childbirth, consider it training!

If offered the choice, I'd take sedation over GA every single time.

Oh, it's also extremely common for the last few days to result in a spurt of follie growth so don't be surprised if you've more on the day.

try and not worry about ec i have done it twice and was really scared but once you hear them shouting in how many eggs you have all your fears disapear my last cycle i had only 5 follies compared to 13 the first time but i got 7 eggs and better grade empies my test is 2morrow so keep your chin up and good luck 4 2 morrow let me know how how you get on
