Hi! Anyone going through FET

Post by caz22 »

I have a DD from ICSI 2 years ago. A COMPLETE miracle. We are so lucky to have her, but are now trying for a sibling with FET.
We have 4 frozen, and are praying that just one defrosts for transfer probably a couple of weeks time. Due to very severe male factor this is probably our last chance

Is anyone else going through FET? Any tips?!

Good luck to all of you - fingers and everything crossed for us all.

Hi Caz

I am hopefully doing a FET sometime next week, as long as ovulation happens at the right time. I am doing a unmedicated cycle and at the minute am so relaxed, it is nothing like the ivf cycle. I suppose when it comes to my frosties being taken out, i have 3, thats when the stress will come in, hoping they defrost well. Sorry i havent got no tips to share as i am not doing anything much except trying to lose a little weight and taking my folic acid.

There are a number doing a fet in the next week or so.

Good luck with your treatment

love

Hi Caz

I'm doing FET on Thursday. As Sue says it's a much more laid back process than IVF, particularly if you have an unmedicated cycle, as I am. How soon are you thinking of doing it? I went on a 6 week health kick beforehand to prepare - I cut down on alcohol (to a glass of wine or two a week), caffeine (never drank coffee anyway, but was a tea addict. Now I have a pot once a day and herbal stuff for the rest). I've also had acupuncture and taken pre-conception vitamins.

If you've already had one cycle that worked for you, then that's got to be a good sign. As for the fear of nothing thawing, I would think that from 4 you should get something. I've got 2, so things are a bit more precarious, but DH has just talked me through probability theory and proved to me that we have a 75% chance of getting at least one successfully thawed. Getting it implanted is another matter, given that I'm 44, but I've got to try.

Good luck with it when you give it go.

me - 44, DH - 48

2002 ectopic (natural conception)
2004 1st IVF cancelled following brain seizure
2005 June/July 2nd IVF - negative
2005 Nov FET - postponed cos my Mum died
2006 - Feb FET planned, but neither frostie survived the thaw.

Hi,

I am going through FET at moment. I started a full medicated cycle on Jan 8th and must admit it's been tougher than my last 'normal' IVF cycle. The Oestrodial tablets have made me feel very low and I have wanted to kill DH at times! I have had more meds to take for this FET than for last IVF.

However, I had a scan today and endometrium is fine so they take embies out of freezer tomorrow and will call me in the afternoon to let me know how they are doing. They will be transferred on Friday, assuming all goes well. (Fingers crossed!) Will let you know how it goes!

Are you having the medicated / unmedicated FET?

really keen to know how you are all doing with your FET? Good luck.
I'm finding it so much less invasive that IVF that I feel more relaxed but just hearing about your all waiting for news of defrosting etc reminds how STRESSFUL its going to get.
I'm taking what is I think a projesterone tablet daily - its making my lining thicken up - and I feel okay but am a bit spotty and feel like I'm retaining water - generally a bit pre menstrual!

I'm trying to be a bit healthy have cut back wine but by no means cut it out. Taking Folic acid, and that about it.

Fingers crossed for you all!
