Provera Anyone?

Post by Shellw »

Hey Everyone! I am waiting on AF also! It has been 40 days since my last official AF and 25 days since I stopped my stims (IVF cancelled - no estrogen).
 :x
At first they said just to be patient, but enough is enough. They want me to do a HPT and then have blood work tomorrow to see what is happening with my cycle. They probably will put me on Provera. Has anyone had to take this to make AF arrive?

Any input appreciated!

Hi Shell,
I was given provera twice to help AF arrive. The IVF down reg meds I had taken were too strong and my natural progesterone was not enough to start AF. Basically as I understand it provera is progesterone and gives your body a boost to start Af. Mine didn't start straight away. I took it on day 40 and AF arrived on day 57! I can't remember the exact dosage, something like 5mg x3 a day...or was it 10mg? Sorry.
I still don't know if it helped or AF would have arrived anyway. There is no way of telling.
Having had it twice with no side effects I'd say go for it and bring on Af as soon as possible!!! Good luck

Hi to others in waiting
jig away

Isn't it just the pits when you're dying for AF to start ? .... I sometimes find that a nice warm relaxing bath helps to bring it on.

Lots of jigging all around ... !

MLG - you make me laugh!

I am in need of a bit of a jig myself. I took Provera for 10 days (in the past AF came after only 4 days of Provera). I am meant to start FSH as soon as AF comes, but it's nowhere to be seen! I even did a HPT (just in case..) but no, AF is just playing mind games with me.

So, a little jig wouldn't go astray!

DH is going away tomorrow, so we are having our Valentines dinner tonight...Maybe afterwards we should try out Jen's suggestion!

still no AF.........

I know we've said it all before, but it's really not fair. When you don't want AF (b/c you want to be BFP), it comes. When you do want it, it doesn't! ARGH!!!

Next suggestion.....

hi Bella, I share your frustration. Am now on day 32 and really want to start my first short protocol tmt. GGGRRRRRR!

Try, lots of sex...a long bath....a long walk.... wearing your best and most expensive white underwear....going out for the evening/weekend without any tampons....plan a special day out.....go swimming......book a holiday around your dates......

Ah well, back to the jigging then!

Good luck to all others in waiting
