Macca8 - I wouldn't worry about your FSH...it is also an excellent number :D :D I too would love to have about 10 good eggs...last time I only had 3 due to ovulating early and high LH during cycle...I was devastated and cried and cried  ....I definitely don't want to go through that again....but atleast I am not at work.

Carlone - Are you getting ready? Big day is almost here :D :D

Kate - My clinic is totally different with testing..I have only a 6 day wait after transfer. They normally only do blasto tranfers so it is 6 days after the 5 day blasto. They then do another test on day 8 and see if HCG has gone up. Last time my HCG was almost 0 on day 6 - so no dreaded 2ww.

Jen - I too have been doing acu since my BFN last April. I love it! Sometimes the needles hurt but don't let this scare you because it is not a big hurt..just like a small pinch. But then it goes away and you feel your body relaxing. I still get my AF cramps but they are much better since acu. I would definitely let the acu person know that you are doing IVF...acu is very, very powerful medicine and you don't want the blood flowing in the wrong place.

Talk about needles  - I am off to do my first injection and have the hot water bottle ready for my tummy.

Cheers from snowy Bavaria!! 8)

Hi girls. Not good news I'm afraid. Out of the blue the clinic rang this morning to say that neither of my frosties had survived the thawing. I was totally unprepared for this as I hadn't expeced them to call til tomorrow and I'd convinced myself that at least one would make it. This was our final go. DH and I had already decided that after this we would call it a day, because of our age and because trying to be parents has taken over our lives for four and half years and we can't stand it anymore.

So now I have to get used to the idea that I'm not going to be a mother. I know I will get through it and life will carry on and it can be a good life. But right now it hurts like hell.

Forgive me if I disappear for a while. I wish you all better luck than I have had with my cycles and will pop in at some time to see how you're doing.

love Caroline

Caroline,

I am so sorry for you darling. You really did bring a tear to my eye as I can see you have been through so much even without the IVF. I know it is an extremely hard decision to make and I know I too have let this take my life over for nearly 3 years. I really do wish you the best of luck in whatever you do.

Hi folks! I am back after a long break and I NEED TO VENT!!! Some of you I recognize (HI) and a lot of you are new! So here is where I am at....I was hoping to cycle in Jan, however, following the hysteroscopy I got a call about the endometrial biopsy - and apparently I have endometritis (NOT endometriosis - this is different). Endometritis in inflammation of the endometrial lining which will prevent implantation or could cause early miscarriage... :? So, I take the antibiotics and of course then we are looking at feb to cycle...so I go back in for my re-biopsy and IT IS STILL THERE!!!!!! :x So now a new antibiotic....Now I will be calling next week when AF comes to visit to schedule another biopsy (which let me tell ya is so fun - NOT) So I am hoping and praying and praying some more that it is gone and hope to cycle in March (please, please, please) If it is still there the tell me I have to have another DNC (don't even want to go that road!!!! ) So please wish me luck and hopefully I will be cycling as a march buddy!

Otherwise I am coping pretty well with the loss of my son and just trying to go day by day.... How is everyone else???

Hi Jamato

Lovely to see you back and raring to cycle again. I'm pleased your docs may have found the root of the problem. I hope you do manage to cycle in March and give your son a little brother. Lots of luck.

Well DH and I had our class today. We were the youngest there and it looks like all the action is going to happen mid April. So here goes the long wait just to start. I have to wait two more weeks for my AF then another 17-20 days to start the lupron then. Then AF again then you all know the process. This wait is hard but I can't even imagin the guys who are going through the 2ww. I just keep thinking that I am still young so I have time. wants another 2 months but it feels like an enternity. I am glad now I have a plan. That does ease my mind some. It was so cute watching my DH learning to give injections today. He was so nervous and confused. It was just sweet watching him try. I think we will be ok. There is a pharm. in the area that carries all the meds in stock for the office so that is a big plus. No waiting for orders to come in when it is time.
Thank you for listening to my mumble.
Wishing everyone lots of baby dust.

Melissa,

As you can see I have been around the block a time or too and my first cycle was in fact a lupron cycle (unfortunately it didn't work for me but I know many success stories with lupron too) The wait is the most difficult part of the entire process, but take it in chunks...To look at the entire process seems entirely way to long....instead look forward to steps...Start counting down to rough estimate for starting lupron....if you take this is stages it doesn't seem so huge, then you feel good as you hit each goal and it is about all the control you have in creating your family!!! Good luck and I will be keeping an eye, despite my tragedy I am proof that it works!

Hi all,

I had rubbish results today. Only 8 follicles visible. Only 5 likely to mature if even that and obviously no guarantee that all contain eggs. I'm not too surprised as I have barely felt anything this cycle. Not sure if I will go through with it, my DH thinks we should cancel it if only 3/4 mature. I have another scan on Saturday, so who knows but not holding out much hope for this one.

Feeling Blue!!!! :(

Lisa

We've seen this soo many times. During these last few days of stims you can have a real spurt. You've 2 days 'til next u/s and if HCG is Sat, another 2 days 'til EC ... 4 days is a long time to see change. Pls don't give up hope.

Anyhow - 5 follies is well enough to go through with EC. Just be positive. My dr recently told me that the fewer the follies/eggs, the higher the quality ... no point in having tons of crappy eggs, is there ?

Lots of pma and luck to you ..
