Hi, hope you don't mind me jumping straight in. I'm new here and about to start sniffing on Friday. It's all come as a bit of a shock . Up until this month we have been turned down for IVF due to a very high FSH. Suddenly this month I got an 8 , but due to an 18 day period didn't find out until today where they would accept me. I'm apprehensive as it's all happened so quick I've had no time to read up on what to expect with regard to side effects of the spray (200mls 2 sniffs per day) and 72!! amps of injections. Well ,no ,I did have time

but due to the fact I didn't think it would ever happen didn't want to chase a dream I never thought possible. Now I am in a flap - lol's

I've had 3 miscarriages in the past but been unable to get pregnant for the last 6 years. I am 40 and it looks like I am pre menopausal so it's complicated. Sorry for the life history but any advice or help would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance Cazzy PS I'm starting treatment at the priory, anyone else been there?

Hi Cazzy Welcome to the site , I too have a high fsh of 16 which was last month prior to that I have had 2 x ICSI Failiers and now going to accept a Donor egg from my second cousin, I know that there are alot of people who have concieved with an FSH of 16 ish but the stress is too much for me to keep being let down , now I feel a huge weight has been lifted off my sholders . We are due to start Treatment around Oct/Nov 03 if all tests go well. She lives in Poole and I live in Oxford but we have found a clinic to look after her in Bornmouth. I had already bought my drugs which were £1100 I too had Supercure for downreg and 72 Ampuls in total = 450iu a day highest dose of Menopur and unfortunatly There are loads left over as my donor wont need all of them. Hi Cazzy, Welcome to the site. Good Luck for the treatment. I think it may be better to just dive in and do it - saves getting yourself all steamed up about it for months! Traci, your news is so exciting. Think I may be following you down that route but any ideas about how to find a donor would be great. How did you ask your second cousin? and does she already have children of her own? Keep us fully informed in Oct/ Nov please, Thanks, Lou

Thanks Both, Traci, I have yet to buy my drugs (apart from the spray) and we've had a quote for 1600,00 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!! my total IVF will cost 4,0000 due to the strength of the drugs but my highest FSH was 28 so this has been an emotional rollacoaster. If you want to sell any I would willingly have them although will need them really quick and not sure whether this is allowed (being new to this game). I would also be interested in hearing how you get on as this will be our next step as they are only allowing one go due to the FSH levels. Also thanks Loo for the welcome, I'm really nervous so going to read the board , get use to the terms around here and read up on what to expect.

I wish you both well Cazzy PS The syneryl (sp) spray was 200mg but they can't get it so given me supercure (sp) 150mg and told me to spray the same amount, is this right??

Cazzy yes it is ok for you to get the drugs for whever you want I have 72 x menopur ampuls 1 x supercure all the syringes and bin 60 pessaries 1 x profassi £1100 is what I paid and I have only had them for 8 weeks , The expirary date is august 04 . They are still in the box it all came in and I havent even looked at them!!!!! I will need to get drugs for my donor but if I could sell these as my donor wont need as many , I think I paid £13.75 for the Menopur each and 65pence for the pessories as reguards the rest I would have to find out , Have a think anyway I am happy to send them or deliver them , where are you based? if you want them , dont feel obliged but I know that the drug companies rip you off. some people have paid up to £19.00 for menopur. |Trace x

Hi Cazzy, Im quite new on here, I joined in may when i was on my 3rd ICSI - it failed so im back again for my 4th go!!!! I started sniffing yesterday so we are at about the same stage, thats good we can help each other along the way. You should get your drugs off of traci if you can, as I pay £19 for my menopur!!!! Hi Trace, I now have the spray thanks as start taking it tomorow but still need 72 amps Menopur (75) in each 2 amps pregnal , 5,000 in each Cyclogest 400 2 a day x 2 weeks (28) Sorry I can't understand the script very well and not sure if yours are the same, but if they are, I would be very interested in buying them from you

How much would you want for the ones I need or would you prefer selling them all to one person. Thanks so much - this would be great as the price has come as a shock to us and we can really only give it one go. But please don't leave youself short (of meds) or if you change your mind I'll understand. Cazzy x PS I am in Worcester which is the Midlands. I'm sure we can work something out.

Hi Sharon, it would be great if we could go through this together, it has come as such a shock and I have been waiting for so long that I'm totally unware of what to expect. The whole appointment (ages ago) with the Fertility guy was taken up with whether he would take someone with such a high FSH so the basic questions we didn't get the chance to ask. I was just reading the spray leaflet and this is going to sound a silly question but do you just spray it up or --- do you sniff whilst spraying - lol's. (I hope my chemist is right when he said supercure 150mg is as good as syneral 200mg and to keep the dose the same as I have been unable to speak with the consultant) How do you feel , and have you done IVF before . Looking forward to hearing from you Cazzy

Hi Cazz This is exactly What I have got 72 x 75iu's Menopur 60 x Cyclogest 400mg 1 x Profasi (HCG)10000 iu so If you need: 72 x Menopur = £1007.28 ( £13.99 each ) 28 x Cyclogest = £19.32 (.69p Each ) Total = £1026.60 you would only have to get 2 x amps Pregnal Let me know as I dont mind meeting you half way for a drugs deal!!!! How funny I told my parents I was drug dealing on the internet , good job they Laughed . they paid for the drugs so it feels good if I can get rid of them and re buy for what Ill need . Hi Cazzy, Yes Ive done IVF 3 times before so this is my 4th go (ICSI is the same as IVF but they actually have to inject the sperm into the egg) If you want to ask any questions feel free ( even if they seem silly) If I dont know them Im sure 1 of the other girls will - everyones really lovely - you'll be sooo glad you found this site. When I have my nosespray I sniff as well. Im 28 and so is my Husband, we have been trying for a baby for nearly 3 years now. (My husband has a VERY low sperm count) Our first attempt was in october last year. My husband thought it would work 1st time, so he's had a shock! (so has our bank account!!!!) It does work though - you just have to look at some of the other messages on here. (thats what keeps me going) I feel ok at the moment, its later on nearer egg collection that gets me down. obviously Ive done it before so I know sort of what to expect (every time is different though!)
