Hi all i need your experiances of ET as tomorrow is d day, on sat we got the phone call that said we had 4 embies, and i do hope they will have all survived the past few days.
I did not have a good experiance of EC, was very painful and quite distressing, what should i expect with Et.
Any advice really welcome.

ET is not bad at all. It is like a Pap. It is only about 15-20 minutes long and I didnt have any pain like EC.
You will be fine and congrats on making it this far!!

To echo Jackie, ET is very,very different. Much quicker, less invasive, a whole heap less painful and in theory, more relaxing. This is the good bit, you know what's going to happen vs. EC when it's full of 'what ifs'.
My clinic always show us the embies on a magnified screen, before they're prepared for transfer. Some clinics can print this out for you.
You're in stirrups - no meds, no prep except for maybe a progesterone shot in the bum beforehand and needing a full bladder if they've told you this in the notes. They do use a speculum (one of those metal things to hold you open), my clinic also wash/swab you out (painless). Then some clinics use an external u/s scanner to guide the doctor in but many don't.
The Bio-Technician comes in with a long, flexible, very, very thin plastic tube containing the embryos in fluid, the doctor guides this in via your vagina releases it when they consider it in the right location. If your clinic use a scanner, you'll see the tube on the screen. The tube is carefully checked afterwards to see that the embies have been expelled. And that's it.
How long you lie there depends on your clinic. I've never been able to stay there more than 20mins.
There's a wonderful image that I read on here recently. Imagine a pea in a jar of honey, that's how to picture your embies once they're in. Don't worry about them dropping out, speed bumps on your way home, your first pee etc.

Ditto with what the other girls said. It's pretty easy. The worst part for me was the full bladder. DH and I were in the room fighting over two minutes -- he wanted me to lay for just two more minutes, but I didn't think I could hold my bladder! Good luck to you guys. You'll do great!
