Hi,

His sperm is a lil low but still enough to concieve. We see our fertility specialist on the 3rd march but i cant wait that long for an answer. Will it be IVF or something else that we will have to go through??? I dont have anyone to talk to about how im feeling apart from my fiance because we are not telling anyone what we have to do..... Erin,

I would think they would explore IUI first, or try you with Clomid. These are a lot less invasive, and definitely cheaper.

Have a look at the options in the menu on the left, they explain what alot of the procedures are.

Good luck.

Hi THere,

I personally think they would try you with clomid first they don't tend to go head first with IVF unless they have tried other avenues first.

Good Luck.

Thanx for overwhelming support everyone, im so scared about the whole thing, but its something we want so bad. I hope no1 thinks im too young, we had to change specialist because he though i was, that put me down alot. Because of my age what is the percentage chance of falling the 1st time??
Sorry about all the questions guys.
Thanx again i really appreciate it.

Erin

You don't have to thank us for the support we would always be there for you, have you just joined my site by the way, someone with the username like tihs one as just joined if so good move.

At the end of the day Erin your not to young but they may not want you to take IVF as the first option they will put other things on offer first.

I really do hope it all works for you, but you must keep us posted.

Love
Shell.

Hi Erin

I've just read your message and saw that you are from Sydney. I live about an hour north of Sydney and have been to Sydney today for IVF treatment. (our first time).

I have just had 15 eggs retrieved and will be going back for the transfer on saturday (hoping that we get a couple to fertilise!). If you need any help, just message back!

Hi Erin, welcome to the site.
As Richard says there are loads of ladies here who will be glad to help with any questions you may have. Just post away!

I would recommend you read a book by Zita West called 'Fertility and Conception' It is really easy to read and explains everything you need to know in plain English!!! Most of the ladies here have read it and it is our 'bible' Full of common sense and ideas on how to prepare yourself for the journey ahead and what to expect with the different tmts.

It is a rollercoaster ride....up one minute ...down the next! A lot of the tmts include a fair amount of waiting I'm afraid. BUT you need to remember why you started the journey in the first place. Hang on....

I wish you all the luck in the world as you make your dream come true.

Hi Erin

I know it all seems very scary in the beginning, but so far i've found everything to be quite easy (i am no longer scared of needles!). The injections are not that bad, I just found that i felt a bit queasy after the first couple then i was fine, and the HCG trigger made me feel like i had a bit of period pain. I had my first egg collection yesterday, which I thought would be terrible so i was prepared for the worst, i was put under a general anasthetic and only period pain like symptoms afterwards.

I have had really good support from the nurses at the IVF clinic i go to and also the doctor i see is very good too, which all helps if you are unsure about something!

Take care and good luck at your appointment!

Just try to relax ( i know it is hard).

Dear Erin,

Don't feel like you are letting anyone down. These things happen in life and in a strange way having trouble conceiving actually makes you appreciate a pregnancy all the more when it happens. At 19 you have a young, healthy body and this means a better chance for you.

My best advice is to relax and don't let it take over your life. Another 15years before you have to start panicking!! I felt i had time on my side until we saw our fertility doc and he said "hmmm 33 we better crack on then"!! Thanks a lot - how old did i feel! Still think of myself as a nubile 25 year old out clubbing 4 times a week. Those days are so long gone

Until you have your appointment just look after yourself. I would go out and ttry something new with your fiance. Something really fun and scary to take your minds off this whole thing. Plus lucky you getting to enjoy that lovely aussie sun. Gutted it is winter here otherwise i would have had 4 weeks lazing in the sun with no guilt about not doing the cleaning. :D I do miss aussie summers ( originally from Adelaide).

Keep posting if you panick as there is always someone about to post back.

Love Saraid

Thanx again for the replies.
I will take it easy, i have 6 months off work so i dont have much to do. I do scrapbooking for fun so i will get back into that, hopefully will take my mind off everything.
I guess i just need reassurance that everything is going to be ok.......stupid i know.
