Hi Beck, Did you go in for your scan today? How did you get on?

My other half was out on Friday evening so I tried to do the injection myself and had a bit of a disaster - I managed to stab myself twice and ended up with Puregon all over my tummy! I was in a bit of a state mainly because I felt such a fool for not being able to do it and also I didn't know how much had gone into my leg (I use an autoinjector) - but I phoned up the hospital and they said it wasn't an exact science and I should do another one! I am not going to try doing it myself again!

Let me know how things went with your scan.

Dolly

Hi Dolly,
Poor you with the injections! Hope things are going a bit more smoothly now your DH is doing them. Not long until they're over with - bet you're already counting the days!
The scan this a.m. was fine. I've got to reduce my Gonal-F to 75 a day, rather than 75 then 150 on alternate days - have got lots of follies already, and some are getting nice and big. The nurse said that by reducing the dose, the big ones should carry on growing and hopefully some of the small ones won't, so I don't end up with too many.
Next scan is on Fri, and so far still on target for EC early next wk. When's your scan? Beck x

Hi Beck, Glad to hear all went well this morning and that you have lots of follies. Do you have more on one side than the other?

You're right I can't wait for the injections to be over! I find that Puregon really stings when it goes in. Does Gonal-F sting?

I have my scan on Friday morning as well and then I think I will have to go in for another one on Monday. How much time are you taking off work next week?

Dolly

Hi Dolly,
Yep, the Gonal-F stings more than the Buserelin. I can't figure out whether it's because the plunger thingy is harder to push down because the suspension's thicker, or if the syringe is just harder to use so I'm wiggling it more, but I've winced a few times.
At the mo I've got 19 follies on one side and 14 on the other!! But some are small - I think only 3 or 4 are a decent size so far. They certainly don't want that many eggs, and are v vigilant about OHSS.
I'm only planning to take the day of EC off work. But both my bosses are on holiday, so if I feel crap I definitely won't go in.
King's are quite big on you keeping up your normal routine and say swimming, sex, even odd glass of wine are fine, as long as you stay as relaxed and positive as possible.I know some people get very different advice though, and definitely take as much time off work as you feel you need I say - this is more important than work!! Rob and I are going away for a fortnight about 10 days into the 2ww, so I'll be testing on my hols. God knows what I'll do without this site, but I thought at least we can then have a boozy second wk if it's negative, and hopefully I'll have cheered up a bit before I have to go back to work. And if it's positive it'll be the best holiday ever!
I'm going to start a thread for others having EC/ET next wk in a sec - there must be more than just us two?!
Take care, good luck for Friday! beckx

Wow that really is a lot.

My boss is also on holiday from next week (for a whole month!) and she knows what is going on and is pretty cool about it all and has said I can take what time I need. But I figure that I will take a day for EC and possibly ET - but other than that see how I feel - you are so right - this is far more important that work! I usually go to the gym 3 times a week - but I think from next week I will start swimming instead.

Where are you off to for your hols? Hopefully it will be a totally booze-free holiday!!

Roll on 5pm - I have been so bored today!

Dolly
