Hi guys, waiting for AF which is due on Friday and then will be on a short IVF protocol. Nice to know I will have some v nice buddies.

Just a quick few thoughts, I kept getting thrush, tried eating a pro-bio yog and it's cleared up and haven't had it since.

Am having the chinese tea and it is truly revolting, I burnt it the other day and I must say I think it improved the flavour!

Will speak soon, must go. Nicola.

Hope everyone is fine,
Today wondering whether blood is AF related or whether it is still the thrush thing. Have had some weird AF pains but v. small amount blood although some clots - not enough to convince me that this is AF.I am doing the probiotic actimel type thing and last time they tested it was negative for candida anyway.
I drink lots of herbal tea but will try to get the Smart Mate tea, Gingko Biloba and Ginseng, Thanks Dawn.
Also Sue and Dawn sounds really interesting about the Gonal Fand Menogon combination. I had a cycle cancelled on day 11, after just using Gonal F. Good Luck Sue.
Think I need to try the reflexology ,sounds really promising.
Hi Nicola, Good Luck for your imminent short protocol and thanks for your advice re thrush. DH and I off to see Sam on Thursday.
Keep up the good work all you July Cycling girls! Lou

Caz - thanks for your pointers, they all have conflicting views re whether to stimilate the actual areas or not, but what the hell, having feet done again on Friday, I love it!

Will try and get Dr Zhu to do acupucture the night before et, I have already got an appt on Friday afternoon, so that may be close enough, if I do have to go in for collection on Saturday! arghhh, see what the scan says tomorrow.

Lou - I am at the Lister tomorrow too, we have scan and blood tests at 3.30! It always makes me laugh when the waiting room is jam packed, but no-one talks to each other - I am always dying to ask lots of questions and wonder if the others are too!

Hope Sam has good news for you, he is lovely isn't he?

Tummy is growing by the day, is everyone else like this? Really stitchy twingy pain - and constipated too - ohhh, happy days!

How's everyone else?

D x
Me 34, DH, 37. Married for 11 years, ttc for 6+, failed 4 x fresh IVF tmts. 5th attempt at Lister Hospital gave us Megan on 5 April 2004 with a very straightforward pregnancy and labour. Attempt number 6 to start hopefully September 2007!

Hi Everyone,
Dawn, had a phone call from Sam's secretary today to change the time of our appt. so we might even be there at the same time. We are now being seen at 1.30pm but I know from previous experience that the wait can be very long. Sam was brill last time we saw him and certainly achieved more for us in one day in terms of investigation than a local Gynae managed in 10 months!! We do have a 140 mile round trip to London but feel it is worth it. DH has taken the day off tomorrow so I'll be chauffeur driven. Usually I am screaming up there after I have worked in the morning.
Think it is AF but seems very light and not many AF pains. If it is genuinely AF and 3rd day tomorow then we could even start the injections. Last time just used Gonal F but poor response. There are so many protocols out there.
Think I might get into the reflexology too. Good Luck for tomorrow and maybe we will meet?
Sue, sorry to hear your news on the other thread. I am 38 and not sure whether I am ovulating so have considered in my head donor eggs. It is not easy but the only way forward is to review all the options and try to find something that makes you happy. I saw one of Robert Winston's programmes about human behaviour and I think they did a study on paternity and discovered that some really high percentage of kids are born and grow up with a father who is not genetically theirs but they may never be aware of it. So much of our development is "nurture " rather than "nature". Not sure if this helps at all but when I am trying to think of positive options this makes me hopeful and it also makes me smile because there must be a lot of naughty randy ladies out there playing away !!!
Nicola, Good Luck for AF arrival and the start of the jabs!
Thinking of you all, Lou

Lou, how exciting, I will look out for you! I will be the one with the hugely bloated tummy! I have got dark bobbed hair, but it will be pulled back in a low pony by then I amsure, and am dressed for hte occasion in all black (!) with a `distressed' denim jacket. Shall I go round to every girl and introduce myself, or have you got time to give me some pointers too?!

If I don't see you, hope it all goes well, and will be posting back on here again tomorrow.

Definitely go for the reflexology, it is lovely!

D x

Hi, hope everyone is OK.

Just got back from the Lister, for scan and blood test.

Good news, lots of follies, around 9 on each ovary, so blood test pending will be in on either Monday or Wednesday for ec!!!

Now off Gonal F and on Menopur, only 2 amps per day, so hopefully that will give me some more egg-filled folloies!

How has everyone elses day been?

Lou - got there and literally went straight in for scan and straight for tests, so wouldn't have seen you! How did yours go?

D x

Evening All,
Just got back from London. DH and I stopped on the way back to have a walk and outing to the pub, near to Petworth and South Downs - v. lovely evening and did not get wet despite the clouds.
Dawn,Missed you at the Lister. Sorry not to have given you some distinguishing features to look out for but think we left at about 3pm. It did not seem quite so busy today. Glad to hear that your news is so exciting, not much more time and you will be on the 2ww.I will be thinking of you next week.
We were not so chuffed with Sam today. He had evidently not even peeked at my notes before we got there so half the "consultation" was taken up with me telling him what has happened in the last 4 months even though he was the one who had referred me for the surgery. I appreciate that they see a lot of patients but so do I in my job and even a scan read of the history is better than nothing.
Anyway, enough ranting, at my suggestion he seems to have changed the suggested protocol to include Gonal F and Menopur and Clomid but wants me to take the pill for 3 weeks first. The scan was encouraging as I had a 14mm follicle which makes me think that my poor old ovary must be doing something. However, they are not sure if this bleed is real AF so have done FSH,LH and oestrogen and I will get the results of that tomorrow. If AF does what it should then I willl start pill at start of next AF so cycle will be at end of August.
Sue, forgot to mention something that may interest you. You may already know about them but there is a group called "The Daisy Network" and they are a help group especially for women with early menopause. They have a website and I think it is "www.daisynetwork.co.uk" but could be .com rather than .co.uk so it might be worth checking that out.
Lou

Lou

I can't believe he was like that, surely they must realise the stress all this entails, and not to skim through your notes beforehand is just shoddy. I would be just as annoyed as you if it had or does happen to me.

With regards to the pill thing, I had to do that too on this cycle, it is so they know exactly where the ovaries are at and regulates them, sounds sooo bizarre though doesn't it?!

Roll on August then, and will be praying to the stars to look down on you and everyone else on this site, to make our dreams come true.

Just got to sit tight and wait for the oestrogen level call now, all we ever seem to do is wait!

I only work 4 days a week now, so this is my day off, and have a reflex and accupucture appointment to look forward to, so that will kill 2 hours!

DH's Christmas present from me has finally arrived too, he is going on a yaucht racing day in Brighton, so have lovely day tomorrow to look forward to. I will be mooching round the lanes, shopping and stopping for drinks while he is thrashing around in the sea - I don't know who is looking forward to it most!

Caz/Allison - How are things with you, is the 2ww dragging, have you been given the go ahead for a date etc etc Allison?

Wishing you all lovely weekends,

Dawn x

Hi gang - sorry not to have posted for so long. I have been checking up on you all each day but from work where for some reason I don't seem to be able to post.

Dawn - enjoy Brighton tomorrow, its one of my fave places (we went there to buy my engagement ring so has romantic associations) - hope the sun shines for you! Glad the stims are going well.

Lou - I know how you feel about the not reading the notes. We got that too - they were suggesting FET for me without taking out my tube(s) until I queried it. I am definitely feeling that I'm the only person who has full grasp of my gynae history. Anyway, glad there are signs of life in the ovaries!!

Sue - so sorry about your news. I think I remember you said you had to go back in today? Any more news?

Caz - you're the leader of this pack so hope its going well and your managing to chill on the 2ww!

Well, my news - what I thought was AF last Saturday disappeared, so I think my day 1 was probably Wednesday. So I'm going in for first scan on day 10, next Friday, and am expecing e/t 1-2 weeks after that (probably more like 2 as I tend to ovulate late). Its been as well really cos I've had a mad week at work and a couple of late nights with work/social things. It still feels most unreal that I'm just about to start a next cycle, I guess cos I haven't had to go to the clinic yet or anything. I'm not even having my little fantasies about my twins as I walk to the station each morning!

Anyway, that's enough from me - love to everyone.

Alison xxx

Hi guys
have been posting on the other thread a bit. Just to say - am on day 6 of 2ww, def the hardest bit, altho am now a bit more ralxed have really had my "moments" over the last few days.
Had af pains all last week - they seem to have subsideed a bit, but generally do feel pretty PMS ish - absolutely convinced that it not gonna work and am kind of trying to come round to it so that its not such a shock on the day. I figure we've all done everything we can and if it doesnt work - well I'm just going to havea fab summer and then , hopefully, try again in Autume. OK I sound really collected now bet I wont be in a weeks time!!

Alison -I too felt the whole thing was completely unreal - its amazing how I just sort of floated thru the whole thing (up until now which seems a bit tougher!). Good luck!!

Lou - I feel for you with the notes thing -I had that a bit at our clinic. I think they are all SO busy....but I did feel like saying "hey I've forked out a fortune for this could SOMEONE please pretend to be a bit organised?!". When I went into my et - the doctor (new one) said "Ah yes Mrs Ward, one ovary only?", I was like "err NO!!". Scary - but my dad a doctor and he reassured me that often the best medical discoveries and developments happen in seemingly chaotic enviroments.

Dawn lucky you on 4 days a week. I have just asked for extended leave and start 6 weeks off on 11th (day of pg test) GULP!!. Cant wait tho!

Good luck all

I'll be checking up on you!!

PS_ advice for 2WW - set stuff up to do - its DOES drag a bit!

You are more than welcome Gila, that's the best thing about this site, there is always someone out there with an answer!

Thankfully now got the go-ahead for ec on Friday, levels are now down to 16,000, which is a darn sight better than 27,000!

Go in at 0730hrs on Friday morning, and Sam is doing the collection (very happy about that), and will one of the late ones in - so hopefully lots of very very good eggs, +++++++++ thoughts!

How are you all, this board is a lot quieter than it was this time last year, is ff winning on the message boards at the mo?

Got my last pre ec acupuncture session tomorrow night, and will have another just before et (next Tuesday) before blastocysts are transferred back!

How is everyone else?? Anyone also in on Friday - the worst bit is yet to come, at the moment I am really excited, but that will all change as soon as the 2ww looms!

Take care one and all
D x
