I hav done a Sophie, did early HPT

Post by charlie77 »

Earlier i did a First responce preg test that was in my cupbourd, on day 8 of my 2ww, as there has been alot of bad press about this brand, so i thought i might aswell do it and get a Clear blue for my test day, but to my surprise a faint second line apeared , i was shaking and i though i must just be emajining the line, so when DH came home i showed him and he can see it aswell.

Has this ever happened to anyone before?
Could it still turn out to be negative?
Can these test give you a false Positive?

Or could it be twins, causing high levels that got picked up earl

Help please! Should i be happy or cautious

Charlie,

My clinic told me that you can get a false positive if you are using progesterone pessaries or if its within 72 hours of a HCG injection, normally day 3 after ET. It says so on the HPT test aswell I think. I know it does on Clear Blue. Try a clear blue and see what that says...

Hope it is a BFP for you. x

Hi Charlie

I tested 4 days early with a clearblue and got a faint positive the next day it was really dark.
Because i am pregnant with twins i think it picked up the hcg levels early,i would wait a couple of days then do a clearblue.

I did about 5 tests just couldnt believe it!!!

Good luck!!!

Charlie,

Do a Clear Blue one, that's what I used both times and I was pregnant and like Jo said it might be twins!!! Cool!!

Best of luck...big BFP coming your way hopefully.

Charlie - may I be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! If I were you I would read it as definite positive and I would thinking it might be twins!!!!!! My clinic said progesterone can NOT give a false positive, only HCG shot. I think that from all the implantation bleeding and stuff, you might as well celebrate.

Definitely do the clearblue asap!!!!!!!!!

Charlie,

Sorry if you thought I was misleading you regarding pessaries. It's just thats what my consultant told me at my last consultation in December because he told me off for using HPT's and I had pessaries on one of my cycles and HCG on the other. Both times as it worked out I was pregnant anyway but Sorry I believed him, I'm going to ask again tomorrow at my next consultation.

I'm sure you are pregnant as I was.

I called hospital, and they said my levels must be high to pick this early( day8) but they said to still wait until the end of the 2ww and call back.
Im so excited, dh was here when we tested yestarday, but the one i did today was stronger so i sent a picture of the test to his phone, and he is over the moon.

has this happened to anyone eles and got a neg at the end of the 2ww?
