Hi Kat

Yes, I am under Mr Riddle too - and keep having rather sexy dreams about him !!!! I suppose that's understandable, given what he's been doing to me...

Did you try ordinary IVF before going down the donor route? How old are you?

Hi Ladies, happy Monday

Welcome to Jo , hope the days fly by for you, and we soon see you posting a BFP!

Kat, good to see you back. It's definitely too cold here in Surrey. It must be a shock to you, after the lovely weather you've just had. Makes you want to hibernate!

Lara, are you there sweetie? What's happening with you? I've been away so sorry if I missed your post.

Tammy, you really should try to get to Ireland. It's a great place to relax! (nothing to do with the copious amounts of guiness.....honest!)

Hello and welcome Jo

Jo - best of luck with your cycle - hope it is positive for you :D The second part of the 2ww is always the worst - it is easy to get impatient and anxious. Try and stay positive.......

Great news Debra! Congratulations!

I started my lupron injections on Sunday - so now feel back on the rollercoaster. Hmmmmm....I have an exam tomorrow so hope I am not feeling too under the weather.

We head over to the US on the 7th March - not really looking forward to that trip - it is always sooo...tiring.

Keep positive :)

Cheers

You're not kidding - woke up this morning feeling unbelievably anxious ... DH irritated by saying I need to change my *coping* strategies as mine are not working. GRRRRRRR poor love I know he is doing his best, but I need big fat hugs from him, not being told to change my strategies...

Good luck on your cycle, Anna, I missed TWO before being able to start my treatment, first time because we hadn't got the necessary paperwork in time; the second time because the clinic was shut for Christmas and New Year. Soooo frustrating, when you feel that every month passing is another month of less chance!

OK i'm off up the post office now to post all my eBay sales, then into town to get a new paintbrush, then make myself some nice lunch, then go for a walk, then do some painting. Coping strategies my arse...!!!

Hi all,

Debra, have posted on your test-date thread, but Congrats again on your BFP. So pleased.

Hi Diane, sorry if you've already explained, but why are you going to US for treatment, and which Clinic is it that you are going to. I only ask, because a good friend of mine wants me to explore the ED programme at USC in Los Angeles! Wondered if you had heard of them.

Hi to you Jo, and good luck with your 2 ww. Sexy dreams eh? Is this Dr Riddle a bit of a "spunk" as they say down under.

Hey Anna, what a nuisance that your AF is being so "difficult". Hope she arrives when it most suits you!

Kat, nice to have you back. Have missed your contact. Glad you had a great time in Singapore. Not long now till your next trip to Barcelona!! I'm in a bit of a dilemma at the mo, can't get it out of my head that I feel I need to look at one or two more clinics before I decide to go ahead with ED. Not that there was anything wrong with IM, I just have this nagging feeling that I should check out others before we commit ourselves. It's such a lot of money, I'm tempted to go for the refund scheme but at 30,000 Euros, I just need to reassure myself that that is the best option for us and of course the best clinic for us. The temptation to get going asap is also a big one. I could start my meds (bcp) on the first day of AF, which is about 2 wks away. Aaaargggghhhhh!!!!! Someone tell me what to do. I know it can only be our decision, I just wish there was a good fairy out their that knew what I should do, and could instruct me.

Hi everyone

Jo, the way I interpret my DH's lack of understanding, at times when you really need them to be loving, is that it is his way of coping. I agree it does not help when as you say all you need is a big fat hug :D I tell my DH he needs a big smack when he goes overboard.

The more we progress through this torturous IVF journey the more we relate positively to each other, ahhhhh.......thank goodness! I manage a little chat with my DH BEFORE we proceed into our IVF cycle on the importance of remaining positive and optimistic - it is working after 7 attempts......

Bev, we travel to the US for our DE cycle as it is not easy to arrange here in Australia. We did a lot of homework before deciding on our clinic in San Diego and do not regret our choice. This is our fourth try in the US, so fingers crossed. We did get a BFP last time but sadly miscarried. I have not heard of the clinic in Los Angeles.

Stay positive :D

Oh, I agree, this has brought us so much closer together. Especially when I flunked my injections (fainted before I'd even got the needle out!) and he had to do them for me... I wasn't really that irritated. Just wanted that hug...

Right I really AM off up the post office now as my Mum called as I was just about to leave - this has really brought us closer too. She calls me almost every day, and always tells me she loves me.

So, even if this doesn't work out, I still have all that love :D :D :D

Hi all, can you believe I left 35 degrees to come back to hailstorms? Still, the cat's pleased to see me. sitting on my lap & not helping me type, bless her.
Jo - Dr Riddle????? That made me smile! Not someone I would have expected to turn up in that kind of dream and DEFINITELY not the man you want mentioned in the same sentence as spunk, Bev!! Unlike the lovely Dr Olivares in Barcelona who can appear in my dreams anyday. Naked. With ice cream.
In answer to your question - we tried 6 cycles of ICSI at Queen Mary's Roehampton with my own eggs before going for no 7 in Spain with DE. Cycles 1 & 5 cancelled due to poor response, 2 due to DH accident (nice timing!), 3 & 4 got to ET but both negative, and number 6 to EC but no eggs collected. Poor response was the reason QMH referred me to Woking for DE but I have been on their list for nearly 18 months and no news, so we went to Spain Sept/Oct last year and got pg but missed miscarriage/blighted ovum at 6 week scan. Back there next week for testicular biopsy to see if anything genetically wrong with sperm.

Anna - why are they closing - is it to do with all the building works? Any sign AF is about to start or is it going to be another really long one? How long did your last one take to arrive?

Bev - Sadly I am not a fairy, good or otherwise but I do think you def sound like you need to take a bit of time to look into some other places and make sure you feel informed. Yes, you could start in 2 weeks but then if things didn't work out you would always be thinking what if I had looked at somewhere else etc etc. Whether you start with IM in 2 weeks or 6 weeks or longer, they will still be there and they will do what you need them to do timing-wise, they're not going anywhere and they have plenty of donors so it's not like you will miss the opportunity if you don't do it next cycle.

Hi to everyone else too
Lots of love
Kat xx

hi ladies, happy Tuesday!

Jen, glad to see your dad is out of hospital. That's great news. :D

Kat ,QM is closing to move to their new building. Of all the weeks to choose I get stuck in the middle of it all! I have no idea what is delaying AF. I haven't had any meds for ages. I was going for a short protocol last month so hadn't had any meds at all. It got cancelled on day 2. It's very strange. I was as regular a clockwork before all this tmt etc Don't know what to make of it. I spoke to Julie at QM yesterday and we decided for me not to take provera yet as that would probably bring AF on right in the middle of next week. So am sitting it out! My, do the days drag by!!!!
It's not long now until you go to Spain again. Are you counting down the days? How is DH?

Di, wow, you are travelling a long way for your tmt. How brave and strong you are. :) Hope it all works out well for you.

Hi there.

Diane, good luck with the meds. Do you usually suffer any side effects?

Anna, I hope AF comes exactly when you need it...fingers crossed.

Kat, 35 degrees??? heaven on a stick.....

Bev, you might want to PM BigJ (Julie Taylor) as she used IM and then ISDIA/ISIDA (?) in Kiev and whilst rated both highly, I think preferred the latter.

Jo, I smiled at the 'coping strategies'. If only for just one day, the roles could be switched. I know some DHs go through biopsies etc. and that's obviously far from fun but the majority of DPs on here do little physically except produce a sample for EC. I know they do more besides re. support but nothing that involves shooting large quantities of meds into their thighs/stomachs etc and then waiting for the fall-out/side effects/tears.

Did Lara say she was going anywhere? I've not seen any posts for a few days. And when is Randa back from Arizona?

Where are: Zippy, Michelle, Amfy, Jane, Robyn??? what's the news? the list is attached for updates/changes/dates etc.

Thanks for all your support. Both DF and I feel confident about this cycle. Not sure why. The Bio-Engineer at the clinic took my beta test today and cried when I walked in grinning. It's a tiny clinic just 1 Dr, 2 nurses, 1 Bio-Engineer so all very personal. We'll get the result tomorrow and I'm hoping for a strong but not twin-high reading. Our scan is 10th March, they're not taking any chances of what happened last time (ruptured ectopic the night before our scan at 7.5 weeks). Thanks again.

Evening girls,

Didn't go to dreaded slimming club tonight, had a headache, so thought I'd drop in for another visit.

Diane, thanks for the info re ISIDA. Julie did pm me some time ago, and I am in the process of looking at Kiev. I do know that they are quite a bit cheaper than Spain, and have talked to Julie today, but just need to check things out a bit more. Good luck for your scan on the 10th March, will be keeping everything crossed for you and DH.

Hi Anna

Jen, pleased to hear that dad is out of hospital, and doing okay.

Hi Kat, thanks for those very wise words, yes you are of course right, IM will still be there when I am ready. Can I ask, did your DE cycle at IM result in any frozens for you. How many eggs did the donor produce for you, and how many fertilized? Are they saying do the biopsy before you use the frozens, just in case the biopsy shows up any irregularity? Sorry, so many questions!

Diane, fingers, toes & everything else crossed for your epic journey. How many hours flight is it to US from Australia? I sort of get the feeling that it's going to be a long one!

Anyway, have updated my entry so here's our list,

Debra, That's soooo awesome! I had a grueling day at work and so needed the lift that reading your post gave me. Here's to high numbers! Even if they are twin numbers. Suck it up girl!
Jo, Welcome to the group and best of luck on your test day. Let's here it for the Boy Toys! Mine is 28. Isn't it just wonderful how versatile they are?
Jen, Glad to hear your Dad is out of the hospital.
Di, Have you been to San Diego before? It is the most wonderful city ever! I used to live there. I lived in Pacific beach on the Bay side. The weather is wonderful EVERYDAY! 363 days a year. Every place has a day or 2 of gloomy clouds and precipitation.
Looks like we may miss our May FET because I didn't get started on BCP's in time after my miscarriage. My RE's mom passed and he was unreachable for a bit. I just love him though and feel so bad for him. We could probably use a longer break anyway.
I'm so jealous that some of you guys have RE's that you'd dream about with nudity and ice cream. Geez, I really love mine but i'd rather not see him naked. His wife is my OB/Gyn though and they make a cute couple...and their kids were IVF babies so they've really lived what they do!
