Twins are here!

Post by julie5767 »

Thank you all for the good wishes! I stopped back in to see how all of my old virtual friends are doing, and am so happy to see all the new arrivals to all of my "old virtual friends"!

I had my twin girls (Lilia Faith and Sophia Noelle) on December 14th at 34w5d. My water broke on the 13th 2 hours after I took my Lovenox (blood thinner), so we had to delay the c-section for 12 hours (with terbutaline) in order to do the surgery...and I had to be under general anesthesia b/c I couldn't have a catheter put into my spinal area for fear of clotting complications.

All is well that ends well, though. After 11 days in NICU, my girlies came home with us on Christmas Day and I am loving every second of it! I love hearing how excited all of you are with your babies, as well. I don't know if any of you saved your syringes, but we have 2 containers that are overflowing (I am still on injectable blood thinners for 2 more weeks, so that adds a lot of needles). I guess I will throw them away soon, but every time I look at them, I am reminded how far we have all come.

Here is wishing the best to those of you that were on the same schedule as us and have delivered or are about to, as well as all of those that are just starting this journey...

Love,

Julie, Sophie and Lily

Julie

Fantastic news - congratulations and welcome to Sophie and Lily.

It's wonderful to hear that everything is going well and what a beautiful Christmas present to have them home.

Take care and keep us informed as to how things progress.
