After 2 ectopic pregnancies with IVF the doctors are suggesting me to go for a Laparoscopy to see if my tubes are scarred. During my first cycle they located both the embryo in my left tube. When the laparosocy is done I am not sure whether to tell the doctor to remove both the tube? The doctors are telling that there is no way to remove the tubes entirely or to block the tubes completely. Please help

Not sure how much help I will be as I am kind of new to this, but I just had my second lap done this past Wednesday and had both my tubes removed. When my RE did the first lap back in July of 2004 both my tubes were hydro. and there was alot of scar tissue. I really wanted to try and conceive naturally before doing IVF so he was able to open them both and kept them in.hope4baby wrote:Hello,

The reason for the removal was during my last HSG this past January they found both tubes to be closed again. I decided to have them removed to make my chances if IVF more successful.
I am not sure what the case is with your tubes that your doctor would say he could not remove them but for me that is my best option and since they were obviously not working correctly it also eliminates the chance of a tubal pregnancy.

My IVF's are resulting in eptopic pregnancy so the doctor is suggesting to go in for a LAP. My HSG 's are normal and both my tubes are open. I do have a question , my doctor said that they can never fully eliminate a tubal pregnancy because a part of the tube is within the uterus. Is there a way that the tubal pregnany can be eliminated?

Not really sure what he means by never fully eliminate a tubal pregnancy. 
As far as the tubal pregnany being eliminated, I believe there are times if you have a tubal it is necessary to take out the tube becuase maybe it had ruptured or something like that. I have not really looked too much, or asked my RE anything, about the tubal's and now I don't have to worry about that happening.
I know that if I kept my tubes in the chances of tubal were higher than normal, especially if I were to get pregnant naturally because my tubes were so damaged and were not working properly.
I don't really know if that helps you at all, but if I can answer amy questions, or at least try, I am more than willing.

I have had 1 ectopic. resulted in 1 of my tubes being removed. I have been advised that sometimes damaged tubes can be corrected. So I checked this out to see if my remaining tube was damaged too. turned out that it was far too damaged to be fixed.. so the risk of Ectopic has increased.
I wouldnt have them both removed untill you have looked into th extent of damage.. you never know it could be corrected.
