:D Hi there - this is all very new to me. Unfortunately not the treatments but the web site and the helpful advice I've read in the forum.

Having had 6 unsucessful IUI courses. 6 months clomid unsucessfully we are now getting IVF. Our appointment is on 15th March 2006 and we are both very nervous. Not sure what to expect regarding the treatment options etc. So many things can stop it happening. Had a FSH blood test but wont know the results until we get there - "good or bad"!

Having had the excitment and anticipation of "will it or wont it work" so many times before - not sure how we are feeling really right now :? . Finding it hard to get excited about it and having hope that maybe, just maybe this will be our year.

On night shift tonight so that will explain why I'm typing at 3am when everyone else is in bed - lucky them!!!

Thanks for listening!!

Niccy,

Good luck with your IVF this year. It's not so bad when you get started, I think the waiting before can be tough before your first one (and hopefully your last).
Don't worry about the results of the FSH, this can change month to month so even if the reading was high, it could be completely different the next month. Ideally your doctors are looking for less than 8.0 reading to start you but the best reading will be somewhere from 4.0 to 7.0 to get the best reaction from the stimulating drugs. I think even some clinics will go with higher than 8.0.
If I were you I would buy yourself Zita West's Fertility and Conception, It's available on Amazon for about £14. Read up on that as she prepares you for nearly everything.
Best of Luck

Thank you for your support. I have already bought the Zita West book and it has been my bible for the past 3 years!!! Would recommend it to anyone having difficulty conceiving.

Will let you know if I'm due to start in April, will find out in 2 weeks. It will be good to keep in touch with Maria and anyone else going through this at the same time and share our experiences.

Not looking forward to the emotional rollercoaster but if it works it will all be worth it in the end.

Take Care Niccyxx :)
