Hi there has anyone on here been using the hammersmith, have been at care but wish to change would just like to know a bit about this hospital i have been to the website but it does'nt seem to cover much.. thanks bel x
Hi Bel, I've had two prev IUI's in 1998 (got pg nat immed following last one, now have a beaut daughter). Also an IVF in March of this year, at the Hammersmith, but had a weak positive result. We have unexplained fertility and I'm now 40.

They've got some really nice staff but I think the Dr's could be a bit more sensitive to the huge emotional turmoil you are going through, this might be the case with all Dr's involved with this type of work, ie it's work, but they are much busier now then when we first went in 1998 so this could be the reason. For me, it works as I can get there in about 20 mins depending on the traffic and I don't think I could cope with this and travel half way across London. Also the unit is open from 7:00am so I can get there and back either to work or home b4 my husband leaves for work.

Where is the Care Center? Why are you changing? Nicola.
hi nicola, care is in nottingham i have had one ivf cycle there with egg sharing. i had a reversal of my sterilization in jan 2002 it didnt seem to work and my new partner and i would love a child of our own.. i heard at hammersmith the dont just offer ivf straight away they see if there is any other option for you first, so i was hoping that maybe there might just might be another opition.. i live in peterborough and had to travel to notts so i dont suppose travelling to hammersmith can be that much worse.. is it easy to get to as i thought about a train..thx bel
hi,
i am on my 2nd ivf cycle at the mo (et tomorrow) both having been done at the hammersmith in london, the first ivf cycle worked but was ectopic.. oh well.. anyway, about the hammersmith, its brilliant, the nurses and doctors are really nice, helpful and friendly. i can not say a bad word against any one of them or the tmt that i have recieved there. everything is made really easy to understand and help is always at hand.
i give them all a big thumbs up and highly reccomend you go there.
ok, so there is a however, the other patients... i don't know if its just that place or whether everwhere is like it but you will be hard pushed to make eye contact with anyone, let alone pass the time of day with anyone. or maybe i just smell!!!lol
take care and good luck traceyxx
Hi guys, sorry if I sounded a bit down the other day, I'd just been told I couldn't start IVF as my FSH level was too high.

I've never been anywhere else so not sure what other units are like but if you have a q you can always ring and speak directly to a dr if you need to which is really good and the nurses are second to none.

I always want to tell everybody inthe waiting room about this site but it is a bit difficult. Spk later, must go. Nicola
