First IVF Cycle-March

Post by Kerri »

Hello all!

After 4 failed IUIs, I am starting my first IVF cycle this month. I started Lupron on Sunday, 2/19 so estimated egg retrieval is 2nd or 3rd week of March. I'm scared, excited and very anxious---so many thoughts going through my head right now. My husband has helped me prepare the injections and wants to be a part of this entire process. He travels frequently with his job so I'm fretting about our timing---so far so good. I know it's silly but I'm already worried he will be out of town a few days for the intramuscular injection which I will not induce myself. I really just wanted to introduce myself to anyone else going through this process at the same time. I'm hopeful everyone's experiences and successes will reinforce I'm doing the right thing and eventually that my success story will benefit others. Thanks for listening!

Welcome Kerri!

I hope your Lupron shots are going good! I was fine with those - it's the Follistim I had trouble with...kinda hurt and had lots of bruising afterwards.
Should be in just days that I begin my 1st FET cycle. Our 1st IVF attempt last Nov. did not work but we are hoping for a BFP this time around!!

Lots of ladies have success their 1st IVF try so good luck and lets hope you are one of them!!

Hi to everyone! It's pouring down rain here in Texas. Hope your weekends are much nicer than mine!!

HUGS,

Allison

Thanks for the good wishes and the best of luck to you as well for your 1st FET cycle! It seems to me if IVF doesn't work the first time it almost always happens on the second so I'll cross my fingers for you. I agree about the Follistim, definitely more bruising---I'm soon going to be able to connect the dots on my stomach! I go in for an evaluation in 2 days to follow up on the Menopur and Follistim so I hope they are doing what they need to be at this point. Each day I grow more impatient but it helps so much to talk to others who have gone through this.

All the best,
Kerri

Hi everyone,

Can I join your thread please? I to am cycling during April - if AF arrives on time I'll be starting to down reg the begining of April leading up to a FET.

At least this time I wont have to have any injections, just nasal spray and tablets for me, I think I can cope with those.

Thanks Sharon for pointing out the thread to me, you'd fallen well down the list so must have missed you.

I know I'm new to the thread and don't want to be presumptuous, but how about starting a date list?

- Kelly - waiting for AF (15 March hopefully)

Good luck to you all, what ever stage you are at, if you think the list is a good idea, cut and paste into your message and add your details.

Take Care

Kelly x

Aloha ladies

List is a good idea and I am dodging work at the moment so..

Allison - start meds for FET March 1st
Kerri - Stimming, ET March 2nd - 3rd
Sharon - start DR March 3rd
Daly - start stimms March 3rd
Lola - DRing for FET, suppressed scan March 9th

Diane C - DE March 15th - 18th

Hope its right, please make any changes.

Well this all seems to have come around pretty quickly, March is almost here! I'm getting the usual yawntastic headaches with the Buserelin and am so tired I could sleep for 4 weeks. Can't wait to start the patches and get the boys (or girls) back to Chez Uterus. My AF hasn't appeared yet so I hope it behaves its bad self and arrives SOON!!!

How is everyone else? Bueno?

PMA!!

Hey ladies,

Good idea on the list. Makes it easier to keep track!

I have paid my money and sent in all my consent forms so now just waiting for ole AF to show up! Should be any day now!
I am getting so excited to start!
My DH and I have been attempting to read the Bible in a year. There is a list we got from a friend of ours and it breaks it up each night so you aren't reading the same book every night. Well last night we read in Psalm 20 and this passage stuck out to me.

Verse 4: May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

I told my DH that should be our motto this cycle and believe it for situation!

Just thought I'd share that with you ladies as it gave me hope!

Welcome Sharon and Lola! Lola are you from Hawaii? I noticed your Aloha greeting! I was born in Honolulu when my Dad was stationed there in the Navy. My parents still have friends there and DH and I went to Maui several years ago and we fell in love with the islands. Who wouldn't??!!

Here's to a great week of shots, scans, and waiting for AF!! Baby dust to us all!!

HUGS,

Allison

Hi everyone!
I am staring IVF sometime mid april if all goes well!! I am also tubally challemged! I had my first pregnancy in 2004 that ended up being Heterotopic, ( one in tube one in uterus), My second pregnancy was Oct 2005, also ended in Ectopic and removal of Rt tube, the doctor says my left tube looks ok, but after the two ectopic in the right for no apparent reason ( no blockage etc. They sugested I go for IVF.
I am very nervous and have been feeling so alone, but have found some comfort here on the boards and in other forums.

The doctor said that my chances are high of a successful pregnancy from what he could deduct from our history of being able to get pregnant etc, and he thinks that because my only problem seems to be placement of the baby that I should do fine.

After reading about failed IVF treatments though I must admit my hopes have somewhat turned into fears....................

I will go forward and hope for the best though, as it is all happeing much to easy for us! No waiting lists or hold ups etc.

I would love to get to know someone who is going through the same thing as me..........
God Guard and illuminate your path always!
Peace on your Journey,
Sky

I'm 32 DH is 23.
Heterotpic May 2004
Ectopic Oct. 2005 ( removal of rt tube)

Change for March List

Post by Kerri »

I love the idea of the list! I'm still new to all of the terminology and abbreviations so forgive my ignorance---my first egg retrieval (for Kerri) is sometime around March 9th and transfer should be around 3/12-3/14th so that's the only change I need to make. Thanks!

Hi eveyone

It is amazing how fast the list grows!

I started my Delestrogen (Estradiol Valerate) injections this morning. Also still on the Lupron as well. We leave for America on the 6th March - so much to do before we go. Probably will not have much time to communicate whilst away so my postings will have to wait until we get back in Australia, which will be the 21st March. Not looking forward to the stressful rollercoaster of donor egg collection, fertilisation and of course the dreaded 2ww.

Good luck to all on your cycles - hope all your dreams come true!

Cheers Di
