Jo: I'm so very sorry for you and DH. It is very sad when we get our hopes up and the AF comes to dash them.

Donna: Unfortunately, I did not get you personal message. I do not get my treatments in Chicago. I had to go to Chicago for a funeral. I go to Reproductive Endocrinology Associates in Indianapolis, Indiana.

AF is coming! This has the been the weirdest cycle yet. I spotted last Sunday and have been cramping and bloated ever since, but still no AF.

DH and I just got back home from Chicago and I am exhausted. We have our social worker coming Saturday morning for our home study.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Tammy, hope all goes well with the home visit today.
Kat, not long now. How long do you have to stay away? You mentioned that a new clinic had ben set up here. Is it near where we live?
Debra, how are you sweetie?
Has anyone heard from Zippy, Jane, Lara or Michelle? Hope they are OK.
Bev, are you there ??? Any decisions yet on tmt in Spain?

Me, AF came on the exact day I didn't want it! A few days earlier or later would have been fine!!! GGRRR There are 52 weeks in a year, the odds of me wanting tmt the week the clinic is closed have to be enormous, you wouldn't bet on it! Unfortunately this means you ladies have to put up with me going on and on about my stupid AF for another month..sorry  Trying to stay positive but to be honest PMA rather low today. :( Off to have a massage and a facial to cheer myself up...then off to watch the rugby with some friends. Come on England!!

Big hugs to all on this thread
Bye for now

Hi, couldn't log on last night for some reason...

Jo - so sorry to see your message - sadly we know how you feel and it's not easy.

Debra - how are you doing?

Anna - the new clinic is in Raynes Park - I emailed them & they do tmt with donor eggs in conjunction with a programme in Cyprus. As they said, and I quote, "As you may understand, getting egg donors in the UK is difficult due in part to anonymity laws". And my GP wonders why I went to Spain!

DH back tomorrow! Seems a long time since I saw him (2 weeks) - will be nice to be back to normal. Spain on Thurs, just for the day. Fly at 6am & get home 11pm - will be tiring but it was cheap so that's a plus. And at least I won't be the one being poked around for once (is that naughty of me?!)

Hi to everyone else too, hope you're all OK
Lots of love
Kat xx
Me & DH both 41
ICSI #1 - abandoned
#2 - cancelled - DH accident
#3 - 1 transferred, bfn
#4 - 2 transferred, bfn
#5 - abandoned
#6 - no eggs at EC
#7 - DE in Barcelona - bfp but lost Dec'05
#8 - DE UK - bfn
#9 - FET Sept/Oct '07....

Hi everyone, happy Saturday!

Kat, your GP sounds v.much like mine, a complete arse. Gosh, I didn't realise you were just going to IM for the day - it will be tiring. Poor DH, I hope his "bits" won't be too uncomfortable for the flight home. As you say tho, it's nice for you not to be the one bing poked about, for a change. Good luck with it, and hope the trip goes smoothly.

Anna, I am here! I've been lurking for a day or two, not wanting to bore everyone to death over my dilemma "shall I, shan't I" and "Kiev v IM" etc etc. A friend of a friene e-mailed me from California the other day, singing the praises for her clinic. She had untold failed attempts at IVF, donor tmt, and eventually went for donor tmt and surrogacy. She has a beautiful little boy now, after about 6 years of heartache. The clinic looks good, but from what others have said about costs for DE tmt in the US, I thought it may be too expensive, and also such a long way to go for tmt from the UK. Still, another to be added to the melting pot to think about perhaps.

I have to say that at the moment, I am being pulled towards Kiev, not only because ISIDA do seem to come highly recommended but also the cost is very competitive. The thing with IM is that we were considering the 30,000Euros refund system, so if you don't succeed in achieving a pg past 12 wks, you get 75% back. Sounds great, but on the other hand, if you get pg on first attempt, but then say miscarry at 13 weeks, you have spent your 30,000 E's. You can't even use any frozens you may have got, without paying another 2,800 for FET. Bit scary, such a lot of money to risk. So I'm thinking that perhaps we should limit ourselves to 3 seperate fresh DE cycles, and at IM that would cost us 3 x 9,500 E's with no prospect of money back at the end if we fail, or 3 x approx 5,000 E's at Kiev (ISIDA). Almost half the cost.

I am very close to deciding to go to Kiev on an initial consultation basis and use it as a fact finding mission also. In fact I think I can say that that is what I will do. Just have to organise myself, and book it!!

So sorry about your AF coming when LEAST convenient. That is what you call Sods Law. Try and stay positive, when you have waited so long, what is another month. I know, easier said than done, and if I was in your position, I would be equally peed off.

Best go, before this bloomin pc cuts me off again,

Thanks everyone, for all your support, makes me feel a bit less alone...

F8ckng awful weekend, lots of tears from both of us , but feeling a little stronger now. Will be going for IVF #2, on same flare protocol, as soon as next AF starts, hopefully mid-march...

Out of interest, apart from Caz, who on this thread already has children?

Hi Jo, sorry you feel like crap. Anything else though would be unnatural. I'm pleased to see you're all fired up and ready to go again.

Re. kids. I have a 2.5 yr old from our first IVF. I'll also answer for Randa as she's not been on for ages, she was a child bride(!) and has 2 daughters in their late teens.

Bev, did you book Kiev?

Jen, enjoy the skiing. I did some today, cross country though, I might as well as we have SOOOO much bloody snow.

Lisa, how are you doing? Thanks for asking about me. My HCG numbers are average at best, went for a 3rd beta today, result tomorrow pm. Hopefully it will show we just had a slow start, if they're still cruddy, looks like it could be another ectopic.

Hola Kat, I really hope Thursday goes well for you.

Lara, are you still with us? I saw you post elsewhere today, how are you?

Anna, so sorry your AF arrived precisely when you didn't want it to. Shame you couldn't have made money on it with a bet. Sorry to make light but it really was sod's law

Tammy, did AF arrive afterall? what happened at the assessment?

RANDA, you said you were going away for 'a couple of days' HELLO????? we need you on here, come back please!

Hi to everyone else, we must have more 'about to cycle' news surely?

hugs
Debra

Hello All:

Debra: My fingers are crossed for you. Let us know when you get your results tomorrow. My AF is still not here. I already received my meds and am ready to begin after intial scan, but AF is not here. Today is cycle day 27. Normally AF is here by now. Our home study visit went great on Saturday. The social worker was here for 8 hours !!!!!!!
I had a headache when she left from all of that thinking and talking.

Jo: I'm glad you are going to try again soon. My last IVF was a bust in December. I'm going to start injections as soon as AF comes.

Jen: A holiday sounds nice. I'm glad to hear that your dad is doing better. Have a great time skiing.

Lisa: How has the adoption/foster program been going? I am so tired of all of this paperwork. I hope to be ready to submit our paperwork to China in April, unless I get pregnant with this IVF. If so, DH wants me to delay paperwork submittal for a few months. Otherwise we would have a 3 month old at home, when we are going to China to get our daughter.

Regards,
Tammy
