Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS, Ive been having trouble logging on and its been so frustrating, (so sorry for delay) Ive now got a new log on, I was TJ before. Ive been reading your tread with the other girls and I have gained so much comfort from it. Im due to start my next ICSI middle of August, and I am feeling nervous, scared and excited all rolled into one!! This would be our 3rd attempt and maybe final for a while until the NHS come up with something... so I did have one question I would like to ask you and that is, between your first and second cycle how long did you wait?

I want to start again straight away but my DH thinks differently, he said you should give your body time to repair and get over the treatment/drugs and that we might stand a better chance? Im really not sure what to do for the best, any ideas?

Thanks, and again congratulations its such wonderful news

Good luck

Tracy x

Hi Tracey!! Thanks for writing to me and thanks for your congratulations. Our very first treatment was started in January 03 but was abandoned due to lack of response to the drugs. Started our first full cycle in March and found out it had failed on 4th April (just the memory of that weekend is scary!).

I think your husband is right to ask you to wait for a while to let your physical and mental state recover to tip-top again, but the middle of August to start seems OK to me. If he's anything like my husband, he enjoyed the "normal" time so much he was dreading me starting to take the drugs again - entirely understandable!!

The clinic said the next proper opportunity for us would be to start sniffing again on day 21 after AF in May. Started sniffing again towards end of May (27th) then EC and EC on 25th and 27th of June but I suppose it depends how long you take to down regulate and then how long the follicles take to grow, etc.

So really between 4th April and 11th July (my test dates) is 3 months in total - it is just so hard to wait though, I felt exactly the same.

I hope that this one is your lucky one. I couldnt believe it when it worked for us and I'm still just absolutely amazed cos I never really thought it would.

Let me know how you go on -I'll keep a lookout for ya.

Lots of love to both of you - Jo.XXXXX
