IVF going ahead with only 2 follicles

Post by Kyla »

Hi there - hope everyone is OK, had my scan yesterday I have two follicles but they are going to proceed with IVF. I have another scan tomorrow to check my two follies (still on the drugs) and tomorrow is decision time IUI or IVF (IUI is not suitable for me). I will wait to see what the scan shows up tomorrow and if there are two good sized ones I will go ahead and if one of them is still not the right size I will ask if I can stay on the drugs until my small one has caught up .... I know my chances are very slim to find two eggs to be transferred back but who knows anything can happen...... This is my 2nd cycle and I obviously don't respond well to the drugs but I will be praying very hard tonight that my 2 follies will be the right size and they both contain 2 very good eggs!.

Anybody else been through egg collection with only 2 ?

Regards
Kyla

hi Kyla

I have and both had eggs and both fertilised...went to et but at end of 2ww had a BFN :(

Good luck with your 2 follies...sending
***follie dust*** hoping they both have eggs.

On a brighter note i went on a SHORT or FLARE cycle which produced more follies...ask about that if all on this cycle does not work out...

keeping my finger crossed that you get to ET and beyond...x x

love jen

Hi Kyla,

On my first cycle (long course with downregging) I only produced 4 mature eggs and 3 immature ones. They injected the 4 and 3 fertilised and 2 were put back and I became pregnant. So don't worry too much.
Would you not consider cancelling and re trying next month on the co flare/short cycle. You will probably respond much better to that. I did and I think most do that have difficulty on the long one.

Best of luck in whatever you decide.

Hi ya lovely ladies.... thanks for your replies. I had my scan this mornig and my two follies are heading in the right direction, the 10mm one is now 15mm and the other one is 18mm. They are keeping me on the drugs for another two days, scan on Friday, Egg collection Monday, hopefully my oestradoil (spelling) level and womb lining will be OK!. It's never ending with all this worry BUT I now feel that my two follies are something special and they are fighting for me to have my dream, PMA, PMA, PMA. I will keep you posted, you girls are something else!.... thanks for the PMA, take care Kyla

Just wanted to respond even it's so late!! I just read your post and was so happy to see the good outcome. I'm starting off with only 5 follicles and hoping they keep growing and have outstanding eggs inside. It's so great to hear good news from someone in a similar situation. My accupuncturist just told me about her prior client, age 36. She had had 2 prior cancelled cycles d/t no follies. She finally grew 3 follies, got 2 eggs. She became pregnant with twins, lost one, but now has beautiful little boy. It really happens. Hoping your embies grow beautifully. Image
