Esther - I have finally packed for hospital! I've got two matching bags - one for me and one for little one (but smaller) and they're all ready waiting to be picked up! How exciting! I feel a lot better now that house is sorted and bags are packed because I can just focus on my essays now and await the big moment!

Definitely getting braxton hicks now more and more regularly and some are quite painful so I hope my body's doiing everything it's meant to be doiing.

Love to all,

Cherylxxx

Nice to know you are all packed up and waiting for the big day, I also have 2 matching bags like you, My DH was making fun of me saying iam packing as if iam going on a long holiday, because i have packed toomuch, but i am sure i will need everything i have packed.

I am busy dustin......again... because there is a demolition going on in my street and dust keeps oozing in, iam so upset - with the way i had cleaned my house, now this.

I envy you for getting those braxton hicks, I have never had them and today is my due day.

Take Care gal and lets wait for nature to take its course.

I bet you have had them - I didn't know what they were at all - just thought they were sort of constipation pains but have finally realised that they must be BH because stomach goes rock hard. You've probably had them all along but not realised because they've not bothered you - could be a fab sign for coping with labour - you've probably got really high threshold. Don't worry though if you haven't had any at all - lots of people don't.

I too look like I've packed for a few weeks - I'm assuming I'm staying in for a while but I'll laugh if they send me home same day because I've got pants, socks and nighties for at least a week (just incase)! I've even packed my bedroom clock cos I wanted to know time but didn't want a watch on my wrist during labour. DH thinks I'm mad - he's just taking his car magazine and a packet of neurofen incase it all gets too much! Have you packed anything mad?

All organised by the sounds of things, just the last couple of weeks and then you'll have your little bundle of joy.

Glad the house is back to normal - what a pain for you.

Take care and don't work too hard on those essays.

I have packed even snacks and my favourate drinks. A selection of books and loads of make up and nice clothes, I wonder if they fit, but to feel good I have decided to take them anyway.

You are probably right if the tummy tightenings are Braxton Hicks then I have been having them for a few weeks.

How are you today, hope resting and doing everything right.

NB- HAVE YOU STARTED LEAKING MILK. iAM SO DRY, IAM WORRIED I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO BREASTFEED.

I've had no milk leaks at all - has anyone else? And my nipples are so dry - I have to keep putting vaseline on them - probably wrong thing to do but I'm in agony if I don't! Hope everyone else is doiiing really well - can't wait for news of motherhood from Lil P and Esther.

Cheryl,
I hope your nipples stop aching so much..
Try olive oil.. just dab some on them before your bath/shower and then soap it off- should feel better..

I didnt start leaking at all, but was told at 36 weeks to start stimulating my breasts to see if some fluid came out..Only had thin whitishdrops- nothing like the yellow that colustrum should be..

Not long now huh?

Thanks Smita - I'll give that suggestion a try. Yes not long now although I am less excited and more anxious (see Antenatal class post). Anyway, thanks for dropping in - happy motherhooding,

Hope you are ok and feeling good.

Not long to go now and you'll be "nesting" and getting ready to make that journey.

Take care

Thanks Denise - must be lovely for you too to be getting near to 20 weeks - it'll whizz by after that.

Esther - don't think mine will be early now - all has really settled down so I think I'll probably go over date. What about you, any news? Are they goiing to induce soon?

Smita - I hope I do get some milk in my breasts - they feel decidely empty and nipples no where near 'prepared' - another pregnant friend said she's already got 'holes' in her nipples where the milk will come out and she's 5 weeks behind me! Did you get anything like this?

love to all

Cheryl

Don't worry about the situation - everyone's body is different. Remember that the first milk produced is called Colostrum and this is yellow in colour and quite thick - it is really only once you have started feeding that the fore and hind milk will occur and then your breasts will start to feel heavy and full.

Please try not to let it worry you.

Have a lovely weekend and keep in touch.

Cheryl,
LIke LP says, dont worry about milk too much..
As far as I'm concerned, I still dont have any feeling of fullness in my breasts!!
Some times i have this tightening hard feeling, but thats about it..
about holes, I recently expressed milk for her and noticed 2 holes in my left breast from where milk squirted out and none such in my right one- sorry if this is tmi!But I believe that nipples have holes from where milk squirts out..
About colustrum, after I delivered, I had thin almost transparent fluid not thick and yellow as colustrum is supposed to be and I was concerned aout this, as colustrum is suposed to be very very good for the babe, but my doc said its normal to have colustrum in different consistencies and not just yellow..
Massage your breasts daily at the time of your shower, and just keep pressing on the aerola area( couple of minutes daily should be more than enough), you should see some drops of fluid in about a aeek from when you start the massage.. that should reassure you.
Hope all this helped!!

hugs,
smita
