Hi Girls!!

Can I join? I will be starting again in March after I get AF (March 3rd).
I will be doing FET and its scheduled for around April 14th.

I have about 6 weeks to diet, eat healthy, take supplements and exercise.

Will someone please add me to the list as I am not too good at that kind of stuff.

Thanks,
Jackie

Hi girls,

Can't believe we are now in March - not long to go now. I've got 11 training sessions to do throughout March so hopefully it will go fairly quickly.

Like most people I've never wanted AF to arrive, but now I can't wait as it means I'll be able to phone the clinic and get dates for baseline scans etc.

I too am doing a medicated FET - have nasel spray to down reg on day 21 and then have to take tablets once they've done baseline bloods & scans - at least no injections this times.

Diane - good luck with the trip and everything whilst you are in America - positive thoughts will be flowing your way.

Jackie - I know what you mean about diet etc, am trying so hard, but last week was my sisters birthday so went a bit to pot, and yesterday went to my mum's for dinner and she did a huge beef stew and pancakes for afters - I'm sure she thinks me and sis don't cook for our other half's! Bless her x

Sammy - from what I can make out, to get a ticker you go into a website like tickerfactory.com and create the ticker, then you paste the code into your profile - having never tried not 100% sure, but might give it a go.

Allison - hope AF show's herself soon, she's never there when you want her to be, but always there when you don't.

- Allison - start meds for FET March 1st
- Sharon - start DR March 3rd
- JackieG - start FET March 3rd
- Daly - start stimms March 3rd
- Kerri - Stimming, ER March 9th
- Lola - DRing for FET, suppressed scan March 9th
- Sammylou - DR March 14th
- Kelly - waiting for AF (15th March hopefully)
- Diane C - DE March 15th - 18th
- Sky - Mid April

Bigs Hugs and PMA to everyone, hope you are all taking it easy and getting ready for those smiley faces.

Take Care

Thanks for the tips Kelly! It seems to have worked (couldn't resist the Easter egg theme given its egg collection during the Easter holidays)

I'll be doing an AF jig for you in the hope of getting it moving!

Day 6-minimal follies

Post by Kerri »

Hey all!

Just finished a Day 6 ultrasound and blood work. There is a slight chance they will cancel this first attempt at IVF due to the lack of developed follies---5 present now and apparently not developed to the maturity necessary a this level. They are waiting for blood work to determine Estrogen levels before taking next steps so still a possibility of continuing and waiting to see what the next test reveals. I know some of you have been through this before (canceled cycles)---my question is does this happen often and should I be worried about the fact I'm not responding to the initial round of injections. Now I understand this whirlwind---you get your hopes up, prepare your body and mind only to find out you have to start all over again. They said at my age I should be moving along much quicker in response to the drugs so whatever that means! Do they just adjust the meds for next cycle? I'm just anxious to hear your experiences after a canceled cycle--this will help me understand a bit better. My husband and I have an undiagnosed fertility situation---all diagnostics have shown nothing out of sorts which can be even more frustrating!!! Thanks for your help. :(

Hi Kerri,

Sorry to hear your news - it is soooo frustrating! :x

My last cycle was canx half way through because they thought they found a polyp (which it turns out that they didn't). I know its not quite the same as your possible reasons but my nurse explained it in a really easy way to understand.....she says its like an assault course with a variety of obstacles - each time its possible that you'll fail at one of the stages, but once that happens and you have to go back to 'start' the clinic has more information and can avoid that particular pitfall in future - some people sail through first time and others need to take a few attempts - the important thing to remember is if it fails for whatever reason, then the clinic know more about what will and won't work for you in the future.

Hope that helps a bit.... :?

Kerri,

Sammy is right, they know how to deal with the previous problem on the next attempt - when I originally joined the site, I hooked up with the New Year Buddies thread as I was under the impression I'd be able to start FET straight away, but NO - anyway, some of the girls on there where saying how their clinic's had up'd the doseage of their meds to get them to respond better.

When I had ER in Jan I had 3 scans in all, baseline and 2 scans after I'd started the injections - the second scan showed more follies, are they uping the meds and doing another scan b4 a decision is made?

Don't feel too down, it's a learning curve for us all, as no matter how many attempts we have, each one is slightly different.

Thanks for the jig Sammy, only 2 weeks to wait!! Oh, love the ticker

Helloooo ladies.
How everyone?
I have just eaten a whole bag of gummy bear jellys, eughhh, I feel sickkkk. Why did you not stop me?
Kerri they may just tamper with your meds first off, lots of women here have had slow or few follies but have then gone on to ER. If they do halt it, like everyone has said - next time they'll know more and get it right. It is frustrating.

Allison sadly I am not Hawaiian, I am Welsh which is a bit more exotic really  heh heh, speaking of which, as Sharon probably knows (???) it's Saint Davids Day today (he's the patron saint of Wales)! Yes, exciting times.....we celebrate by eating sea weed bread and vegetarian sausages and wearing stove pipe hats. No, I'm serious. We come off pretty badly compared with St Patrick...

Well AF came along so all going to plano so far, touch wood. scan next week after my holiday! Holiday! Woo hoo! Down regging drags man. Is tiring and the injectioneeees hurt much more this time. Bring on the patches!!!

OK, I'm off to dispose of gummy bear evidence before the candy police come over.

Lots of love
Lola

verdict is in---cycle is ceased

Post by Kerri »

Well I did just speak with my doctor and she is recommending I cease the cycle. Not enough follies and too immature. Her guess is the Lupron suppressed me too much so we're going to plan B. She will get back to me with the Practice consensus but thinks it may mean no BCP next time or using another medication early on instead of Lupron to stimulate the ovaries. I can't remember the name of the injection but it has more of a layering effect meant to grow the follies.

I'd be very happy to drop the Lupron--this was the injectible I dreaded the most so I'll cross my fingers.

The Doc's comments were while this is disappointing and frustrating, it is not devastating as it just means some adjustments. She said I may the one who does only produce 2 good follies but right now she wants to see if she can increase those chances for the next round. I guess I'm to expect AF in about 2-3 weeks which may keep me on your April list I hope?

Hi Kerri,

Disappointed with your news, but like you said at least the doc knows what to do next time - hopefully the wait will go quick (maybe you could treat yourself to a large glass of wine)??? :D

Hope you stay on this thread.

I started AF on Sunday so DH and I had our lab tests on monday and my 1st u/s. Everything was fine. They called in all our medications early so we could have them and not have to wait for orders. It was nice there is a special pharmacy that carries everything we may need who works with our Dr's office. Well DH went on monday to pick them up. Oh my!!! There are so many vials and pills. DH just looked at me and said I am sorry. He is so funny. Also so many consent forms to sign. A lot to read.

They said I go for my second bld tests on the 14th then I will start my Lupron.

I can't believe this is all starting to fall into place.

Hi,
Welcome to all the new faces.
I'm going to have to work harder to keep up with you all. I seem to be finding many ways to distract myself this cycle. I start stims tomorrow and am not in the mind-set at all yet.
Yesterday, went to get pap smear - oh joy - and was sitting in ob-gyns waiting room with many pregnant women and pregnancy magazines. I went to reach for one and immediately felt shamed that I "shouldn't" be looking at those magazines. Very odd. Not sure if I felt undeserving. Think it was more like walking into a party you're not invited to. So, after hesitating and feebly processing this, i took the magazine with me home. (it was one of those freebies - I'm not taken to thievery yet!) It's odd what we go through when this natural process (that the survival of the species depends on) goes awry. So now, ofcourse, my reflex emotion is to feel bad that I felt bad or "not positive" and will now doom this attempt. As my husband says, it's enough to feel bad in the first place. You can't feel bad for feeling bad... What a vicious cycle! I really am not in any mental way of "believing" I'll get pregnant. Although I don't feel hopeless. Anyway, enough of my pathology!
I also saw the RE yesterday for mock transfer. OUCH! and we are adding assisted hatching to my next cycle. (hey what's another $500) and we moved up my stim day to tomorrow!!! Expected ER is March 15th and ET March 18th! I need to say it aloud a few times so I realize it is really happening.

Kerri, I'm so sorry to hear your news. My RE knew from previous IUI's with stim that I'm a poor responder. (yucky term) So he has me on Antagon instead of Lupron. There are some short Lupron flair protocols also for poor reponders. What was your stimming med? A pure FSH with just a little LH can sometimes get better response as well. Sorry if too much info. I share in your poor responder frustrations. I'm sure next time will go better. I also see acupunture. ...Hope your drinking your margarita now! It is certainly much deserved!!

Huge hello to everyone!! I'm hoping for a Easter basket full of beautiful eggs!! (wouldn't mind a little chocolate bunny on the side) Image
