I though I would drop in to say hi to all the 3rd Tri ladies, now that I am one too!

I seem to be spending money like there is no tomorrow at the moment but I am sure you all are too. My list seems to be endless!

One thing I though might be of interest is that Essex County council are running a scheme that if you buy reusable nappies you can send away and get a £10 refund from the council. If Essex are doing this, maybe other county councils are doing a similar kind of scheme.
(I have got to try to save some money somewhere!!)

Best wishes to everyone
take care
Ange

Thanks Little P

No - no heavy lifting for me - I'm going to be the forelady! Poor DH - at least we've only got a really small house at the mo - so in theory there should be hardly anything to move!! Hmmm - we'll see if that's true - I somehow think not!

Hi Ange - I have heard that about Reusuable nappies - my sister's council (Hastings) give you reusable nappies then you send them back when you need the next size up - which kind of sounds a bit yukky but I suppose is the point of reusable nappies!

Love Vicky

Morning all

Welcome to the final leg Ange - good to see you here, hope the twins are doing fine.

Joy - Keeping everything crossed that your appointment goes well. I can quite understand why you would be going mad having to stay in bed. Take care and good luck.

Vicky - Sounds like a good plan to me. Take care and have fun being in charge!!!

Hope you are all doing fine.

Hi all,
Welcome Angie - good to see you on here

Vicky - good luck with move, must be great to have something else to keep your mind occupied - helps the time pass

Lil P - nearly there now - classes and labour - hope yours are better than mine. Went to 1st class last night and I'm not goiing back - it was unorganised, unprofessional and frankly terrifying. Got there at 6.45pm, got home at 9.40pm and I didn't learn anything I didn't know already other than how huge an epidural needle is! I'm afraid I've lost a lot of faith in my hospital although the Midwife in charge has rung me today and offered to meet up on Monday to put my mind at rest - hopefullyv I'll feel a bit better after that because at the moment I feel like I need to change hospitals!

Love to everyone else - I've got to whizz a minute to catch the post - my credit card bill is already overdue and I've just realised the time - I'll do some more personals later

Cheryl

Oh, I'm sorry your classes were such a disaster - I really hope that your Midwife puts your mind at rest, you don't need any more concerns at this stage!!

I guess we're lucky. We chose to do the paid for classes, rather than the hospital ones so it is a really small group of people and they are all very nice. All the husbands come to which is great.

I shall keep my fingers crossed that you get some reassurance on Monday.

Take care

hi all
cheryl my classes were the same left me thinking wot on earth i was doing wasting my time...it was only on the last one did we all chat but i felt i didnt learn anything...the 1st one took us all around the ward which if u remember i said was horrible... but last week i asked midwife if she had the time to just take me and mum up again (as mum is coming in with me aswell) she was much nicer and explained things the first midwife didnt and we had chance to take a better look and it really put my mind at rest
still no news on the mummys due this week...were all waiting
i went out today only to sainsburys to get a chicken and was going to cross the road to boots .. whn my hip locked and again was in extream pain so a little trip to boots was called off and i rushed home to lie on the sofa and to take some more kapake....roll on these last few weeks
i still need to get a few bits and bobs.....any ideas on which formula to buy for bottle feeding??? i was going to have just a travel kettle and jug upstairs to warm bottles but my hubby wants a bottle warmer(which i thought was a waste of money) but he hasnt asked for much just gone along with everything i want...so if he wants one im glad hes asking..so im on the hunt for a bottle warmer now
cheryl .. wot kinda feelings are u having in the tummy area and down below??? im not sure wot is twinges and spd...im scared that ill not know when the time is here and ill still think its the normal pain im getting...i keep having this nightmare that im in bed and im saying im ok its not coming yet and plop out baby jones comes ...(silly i know)
i cant wait for the time to come im so looking forward to it and yet so so scared ...im sure we all feel the same
love to u all

Morning All

Good to hear from you Jacs, only sorry that things are great for you. I do hope that you start feeling better soon.

Oooh, it's a cold one out there!!

Still got loads of energy and a compulsive urge to clean so at least if nothing else happens today, the house will get a good polish!!

Off to my Mums Only NCT class this morning - should be a laugh as it's the final one and we're making dates for the future get-togethers.

Hope everyone is ok and taking care.

Hi Jacs - great to hear from you - sorry you're having so much trouble with pains and twitches. I know what you mean about antenatal - I remember how bad you felt, I spent all yesterday morning in tears thinking I just don't trust these people with my baby and my body! I do feel much better now I've spoken to Head midwife and hopefully I'll feel much better after Monday (like you). I'm so glad you're feeling happier about your hospital now. I feel like you too in terms of 'how will I know?' - I'm getting lots of tightenings in belly (that don't last long) - maybe 5-6 times a day. Some sharp stabbings now and again in my nether regions and baby's movem, ents have really slowed now. I did think I would be early but I'm not sure now because everything feels much more settled down than it did a week ago so maybe I'm here for the long haul. Don't worry about Baby Jones just popping out - I'm sure you'll realise when things are happening - apparently when you get into second stage (the pushing) there's a real difference in the intensity of the contractions and you'd still probably have an hour or so to go so don't worry (but I'm sure we'll realise when we are in first stage anyway!) Are you considering a TENS machine for your back?

Lil P - I'm really envious of your NCT network - I tried to find one round here buut there wasn't any - I would have happily paid to attend somehting of quality but there just weren't any. I had images of being in a little 'club' and everyone keeping in touch and being a support for each other but that little bubble's has well and truly burst! Never mind, I'm sure I'll meet other mums and babies later at other events.

Olivia - how are you? Hope you've gathered from above that you're not missing a great deal if you couldn't get into antenatal classes - as long as you manage to book a tour - you'd be better off with your books and your instincts! (I got told some stuff and shown some stuff that I really didn't need or want to know - has only added to my anxiety not relieved it!)

Kim, Smita, Susie, Jen et al (that's my essays rubbing off) can't wait to be in your lovely mummy's club - keep enjoying those beautiful bouncing bundles!

Hi Vicky, Ange, Joy, Jaymee - glad all is progressing beautifully for you guys - keep resting lots and don't feel guilty about treating yourselves lots!

love to all,

Cherylxxx

Yes beautiful shiny day - I've been tidying some more today and driving DH mad by not allowing him to wear his trainers anywhere in the house! I keep following him round with a rubbish bag too! He can't wait for little one to get here so I've got someone else to clean up after!

How is everyone doiing?

Hi to everyone

Hope you are all resting and enjoying the last few weeks or days of your pregnancies.

I have yet again been having a nightmare. Following our growth scan which showed baby to be far too big we saw our consultant who wants twice weekly doppler scans of my placenta, twice weekly heart monitoring, a glucose tolerance test and a follow-up growth scan. He is now talking about a c-section at 38 weeks.

It was the worst consultation ever, he rushed in and out and didn't make an attempt to explain all the sudden caution and the midwife was no better. The only things he said was that despite the scan showing otherwise I am carrying too much water. I know that Esther had this problem too, what was the outcome for you?

It has left me feeling really anxious, I just haven't got a clue what is going on. Thankfully my pelvis has eased up slightly which is the only good thing I have to report.

Come on ladies, someone have a baby to cheer me up!!

take care all

Hi all - Olivia, I'm spo sorry you're having difficulties. I wouldn't get too anxious because if there was any type of emergency they'd have delivered you now. They're probablty just being cautious but managing to panic you in the meantime. If I were you I'd get in touch with lead midwife at your hospital (or your own midwife) and explain that you've been panicked by all this and can someone please go through it all with you and answer yuor concerns. You deserve some quality feedeback - it's a scary time and I think you've been treated very badly. You mentioned Esther's issue - she's obviously fine because they've let her go to full term and she says shes being induced yesterday! Try not to worry - remember growth scans can be wrong - I was in tears after mine because they told me baby was much bigger than should be but my midwife didn't agree and has told me to ignore it! I just hope she's right not the scan. Whichever way round it is with you Olivia, remember that they'll do whatever's best for you and baby - they should be giving you more TLC but at least you can rely on the fact that their main concern is the health of you two and at least they are taking any concerns seriously. I hope you get some answers soon,
Much love
Cheryl xxx
(P.S - Have yuo spotted you've got a countdown thread now too?)

Olivia,
I'm sorry you've had a scare thanks to your doctor, but too much fluid is not bad as opposed to less fluid, if that makes any sense- hang in there..

Cheryl,
Hows your dh now?
I hope you're looking after yourself too..
I was told dhruvaa was a big baby all throughout and look how tiny she was- she was only 2.5kgs at birth..goes to say scans arent accurate.
Hoping you have an easy time of it at labour- have a feeling you're having a boy!
Joy,
hows you doing?
