As a matter of fact, I did enjoy my margarita tonight---it's amazing how easily that went down. Considered going home and feeling sad but instead met a close friend who I could talk to and hopefully put these feelings aside (if only temporarily). When we left dinner she gave me a hug and said "I know you are going to be just fine and this will all work out soon." I looked at her blankly for one brief second I completely forgot about my situation--wow, the power of friendship!

Daly--I understand and can relate to your feelings and episodes of pessimism. I think we all have our moments when we doubt and second guess but these are real feelings and because this is such an emotional roller coaster, it's only normal to have these thoughts. We should never be mad at ourselves for what we're thinking. I truly think if we didn't have such genuine and mixed emotions we wouldn't be capable of being here. It takes a special person who commits to sharing those ever changing moods to get through this process and then how gratifying it will be! I'm crossing my fingers, toes, etc on this one for you.

And regarding the stimulators I used a combination of follistism and menopur. The more I think of it, I need to tell my doctor about my experience with the BCP---I spotted every day the entire time I was taking so it was very difficult to pinpoint AF a day or two after. Not much of a difference from the spotting so I'm wondering if this influence anything??? Who knows!

I'm so anxious to hear about all the progress made on the March Calendar list---good luck to all.

Hello to you all, thought i would join in on this thread as i am due to begin testing this month and my meds are to begin in April around my next AF (aunt flow) hope thats right! lol
I have blocked tubes and my DH has a low count so it is IVF for us. We have chosen an IVF clinic in Darlington (woodlands).

I have just this morning given up smoking! and i am using a nicotine inhilator (it's soooo hard)! but im determined the sticks won't get me this time lol (o0oerr better watch this space)

Our consultant has reccomended that we ask our GP for our tests rather than pay the clinic as he said we could get it free so... we are going to telephone the surgery today for the

hep c , b
hiv
FSH
Rubella

o0hh and a few others i cant recall there are about 6 or 7 of them.

Has anyone else asked the surgery to conduct them? just thought it would save a few pennies if you were self pay like me and hubs.

We are excited, nervous and quite emotional as well as there are soo many what if's and im trying to stay positive. There is so much to read about and take in. Im not to keen on the self injecting i have to say! however my lovely friend next door has offered to help as HD is at work.

Good luck to you all and its nice to have a little thread of our own to share the rials, i sincierly do wish each and everyone of you all the best and much love with it.

Hi Sarah

A HUGE welcome to this thread. These girls on this thread a wonderful, you have definitely come to the right place. We are all here to help one another.

Is this your first IVF? Its sounds like you are funding it yourself, are you not entitled to have a cycle on the NHS?

Once your know your dates etc. just add yourself to the list, which I can't believe is growing so quickly.

Hi to everyone and hope you are all well.

Take care.

Hey ladies,

Kerri so sorry to hear your news. Sometimes it takes the doctors awhile to figure out the perfect protocol since everyone is different. Have a margarita for me too since I can't!

Welcome Sarahface! Good luck on this lovely rollercoaster we call IVF!!

Well do an AF jig for me too - she is late and I am not happy about it. Never comes when you want her to and always comes when you don't!!
Maybe today - who knows! Wish she'd hurry up! I am ready to get started already...

Have a great day everyone!!
HUGS,

Allison

Hi Girls! thanks for my welcome :)

yes this is our first round at IVF, i have two children a boy 7 and a girl 5 from a previous marriage, sadly one of my tubes got blocked and the other badly scarred from an infection, hubby has a low count.

I am very, very greatful for the two beautiful children i have , however there is still the ''mum in me'' that wants another little bundle of joy. I am the happiest i have ever been in my life, my husband is my best friend and i wouldnt mind another baz junior.
I was utterly distraught when i found out i couldn't have anymore until a friend told me about IVF last year and it felt right, Baz hasn't any children of his own (baz 27) ME 26.

As soon as i find out my dates i will be sure to pop them up. I hope i can help to support you all as well.
Im ....so glad to have found somewhere to go

Hello Everyone!

Welcome Sarah. Glad you have a neighbor to help with the shots. You'll be surprised how easy they will come to be after a few days.

Thanks for very kind words Kerri. That margarita sounds wonderful. Any particular flavor? One thing I have become so grateful for during this infertility journey is how amazingly supportive people can be. I can't express how thankful I am for the support of my friends. And the truly beautiful people on this site. There are some blessings mixed with this roller-coaster ride! You mentioned follistim. I am taking 450 iu of follistim (fsh) plus 2 vials of repronex (mixed fsh and Lh). I'm not sure of your dose, but wanted to give you an idea of how aggressive treatment can be if needed for better response. I'm basically taking the equivalent of a horse tranquilizer! But, my ovaries really need the push!! Also, alot of women need longer stim cycle to allow their follis to fully respond. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a quick arrival of AF and a great next stim trial for you. So glad you staying on the site. I agree with Kelly, you're part of our buddy board and are just having a "extended " cycle!

Here's a jig for your AF Allison and Kelly! Image

New marching orders...

Post by Kerri »

I just received protocol for starting this cycle a second time in April---it appears as if I will take BCP for 3 weeks prior and then instead of Lupron, I'll be taking MicroDose Lupron 2x/day, 20 units each time. Does anyone know about this particular med? I haven't heard of it and I am wondering if it has the reverse effects of Lupron since that seems to have been my problem in the first place? Please let me know if anyone has taken this or knows others who have. They've increased my Follistim to 450 each day vs. 300 or so before. Hopefully this action plan is more aggressive 'cause I'm ready!!

I know some people on the site had good luck with micro dose lupron. I take Antagon instead. My RE feels lupron would be too suppressing for me. Has your RE ever used Antagon? But, I wouldn't feel bad about taking the micro dose lupron. Alot of REs use it for poor responders. I'm just curious about Re's reasoning for using that vs antagon.

I'm so glad you don't have a long wait for your next stim!!

Well AF is finally showing herself ever so lightly today. She took her sweet time (5 days late!) Of course everyone was telling me to take a pregnancy test. I said no I'll just wait. And I was right...she has finally arrived.
I'll call my clinic tomomorrow so I can get my FET calendar and I'll better know my dates then.

Good luck to everyone - hope y'all had a great weekend. I am planning on hanging out and watching the Oscars tonight.

HUGS,

Allison
