Hi Anu,
Thanks for the good wishes. So sorry it didnt work out for you this time. Its great that your up and already planning ahead for the next time.
It will happen for you Anu! I too have (fairly severe) tubal problems, (and we have mild male factor), had failed surgery to repair the tubal damage couple of years ago. Have never been pregnant, (not even in 12 years of having "potential baby making relations"! ). Been on the infertility treadmill for almost 5.5 years and I feared I would never be pregnant either, (And now still fear that am not really pregnant!).

Take heart, my doctor said that tubal problems are one of the better prognosis groups for IVF, coz its mechanical. And if you managed to produce eggs in your last IVF, well thats gotten over the PCOS challenge ... so it sounds like you have absolutly every good chance. How has your other IVF gone? Will you have a review of the cycle with your doctor? Theres probably a bunch of people out there who have some feedback on managing PCOS too??

I know its impossible, Ive never managed it myself, but I realise that regardless of what everybody elses situation is, it really is only going to take one embryo! My doctor would only transfer one frozen embryo at a time, so I thought there was totally no hope! The one that I got the BFP with was a frozen embryo, 8-cell but with 25% damage, my friend got pregnant on a her one single frozen embryo too with a lower grade.

As for the 2ww! It wasnt any easier than the first time around, and youve been through it too, so I guess you know how stressful it is! The clinic tells us poor stressed out girls desperate for advice on tips and tricks but they say that we should just "carry on as normal" and do what feels comfortable! If anything I did feel a little more centered this time around, I took up art classes, coz I wanted to find something peaceful, and carried on with a few normal things like soccer training, (I DON'T think this contributed to the BFP, but it did help me prepare myself mentally for facing whatever the outcome was going to be.)

I know above probably isnt too useful! But would love to hear from you and how you are doing

hi thanks mel_p for the advise. I underwent my first ivf cycle last month. Unfortunately no eggs made it to freezing. I meet my doc this time and discuss the next step. Just once question you palyed soccer in the 2ww?. they advised me the clinic not do any forma of exercise.

Hi Ananda,

I also have severe PCOS and my 2nd IVF last month was also a -ve. I believe whatever is destined to happen will happen. Please don't loose hope. I am planning to take 6 months off and do another FET cycle in Sept-06. Need to get my body back to normal.

Are you from India and do you understand Hindi?

Hi Anu,

Our computer has been out of action as we were having our floor layed, so sorry if you have waited for a reply from me.

Thanks for the congratulations, during the 2ww i have taken things a little easier, for the first 2 days i had quiet a bit of rest and the rest of the first week i was off work (half term) so i just done a little bit of work around the house eg. wall papering and painting, although i was making sure i didnt stretch too much and had some rest inbetween. I do find it difficult to rest. The following week again i was just a bit more careful, no heavy lifting.

I have been pregnant twice naturally in the past ectopic 03 and miscarriage 94, my problem is damaged tubes, one ruptured with ectopic and other one is blocked.

There are so many things we try to do to help ourselves but at the end of the day, we really have no answers, thats the hard part. Wishing you success for your next try

love

I did do a little running around, but didn't push myself more than usual. The clinic here advises its fine to carry on as normal but that the important thing is to do what feels right and not to do anything you would feel regret for. Each clinic will probably have slightly different recommendations, so follow what feels best for you. I think Sue is right, there really is no anwser, but to do what feels right for you. This time I chose to do a few things that energised me a little and I felt it was more reasonable to do this coz I didnt have all the IVF medications in my body and the after effects still swooping around.

Wishing you all the best with you next try
