Good morning:

Kat: I'm so sorry to hear that you did not go to Spain. I'm sure that you are very disappointed. Hopefully, DH and you can reach consensus on your next step.

DH and I went to an all day adoption conference yesterday. It was very informative. We attended 7 different sessions. There were sessions on international adoption as well as domestic adoption.

AF is still not here :( Today is day cycle day 33. I am so bloated and crampy. I sure home I start today.

Debra: Keeping my fingers crossed for your upcoming scan.

Regards,
Tammy

Hi,

Randa, how are you? where are things now?

Tammy, want us to do the AF-jig over here?? The all-day adoption seminar sounds really useful. Did you get to chat to any other prospective parents? How many were there? d

Hello Anna and Bev, it's great to have regular posters on here.

Kat. What a terrible shock for you. I guess he'd been bottling it up for ages? Why do men do that? I wouldn't discount relief being mixed in there too, the pressure this puts us under is way too much. I hope you can reach a mutual decision soon on what happens next. I'll be thinking of you.

I had a blood test and scan today after having constant, dull pain over the site of last year's rupture. It went well. He found nothing untoward over the pain site but we did see the egg sac (no heartbeat, a few days too early) and it was in the right place. I'd done too much reading ectopic message boards and learned too much than was good for me. I'd decided that our embryo had attached to old scar tissue as can happen (either 2 x laparoscopy, ectopic rupture, tubal ligation or most likely, c-section - I'm surprised there's any uterus left really). He was happy, agreed with my calculations to be 6wks1day - but only after consulting his little wheel thing and loudly delcaring (with a big smile) that HE was deciding how pg I am and it was....6wks1 day. Norwegians aren't famed for their sense of humour so I appreciated this. The blood test is back tomorrow. I'm waiting for a really healthy hcg. We rescheduled Friday's scan for Monday as he thinks we'll have a better shot of seeing everything then.

Would love to hear how everyone else is doing.
hugs
Debra.

Hey Deb,

So pleased that everything is in the right place. Now you can take the ectopic worry off the list. One less thing to worry about can't be bad.

I'm all a bit of a dither at the moment, just waiting until our trip to ISIDA. 30th March seems ages yet, but I know it will pass. Trying to take my mind off things by concentrating on sourcing materials for our forthcoming building project. We don't anticipate starting until mid to late summer, so have load of time, but it means that I'm spending nearly all day sat at the pc looking at web-sites. Some are really well laid out, others are difficult to navigate, so it tends to drive me nuts!!!! Also, everything I like is always the most expensive. Ho hum.

Tammy, sounds like you're making headway with your adoption quest. Did anything come of it to help you make your decisions. Hope your AF comes to visit soon.

Lisa, the age thing seems to affect us in all sorts of ways. It's so b....y annoying. What differnece does it make whether your DH is 28, or 30? I could understand if he was 16 or 70! The extremes would be good reason not to consider him, but 28...... he's in his prime.

Hi to everyone else on this thread, I'm afraid my news is going to be somewhat limited for a while, until we get going again at the end of the month.

Take care all,

LOL Bev xxx

Hi ladies

just wanted to pop in and say I am reading you all and following your journeys.

Kat - my heart goes out to you. If there is anything I can do to help, any addresses, anything atall please email me. Dh would emial/talk to your dh if that would help (about the tests I mean, wouldn't tread on emotional ground). We had got as far that I was prepared to go with donor sperm and eggs if required, rather than adopt or give up. That was maybe easier for my dh to swallow as he has 18 year-old twins from his first marriage so I had the say really I guess.

D - so happy to hear you got a scan done!!! Terrible once we have been through so much we can see only the "what can go wrong side", but I understand totally, and I found if you are analytical then you need answers and you need the reassurance of "too much infomration". I now am on scans each 2 weeks, but like Joy have bought a fetal heart monitor that I use each night before going to sleep, that reassures me as I am now paranoid about placental failure and stillbirth...terrible, but if the worry is there you have to deal with it.

Lisa/Tammy - have you though about surrogacy?? (I thought about it even with donor eggs when I thought the immune issues and fibroids meant I would m/c all the time) I say this because ISIDA have a programme and there are a couple of girls on the conceiving abroad site that are doing it now. I don't know the relative costs but I know it is significantly cheaper than US and they seem to have had some success and let you select your surrogate. If you want more info pm me.

Bev - good luck while witing not long to go!

Anna - thinking of you too preparing for your next go...

Randa - howz trix????

hugs to all

Hello Ladies:

AF finally visited me this morning. I have a baseline scan scheduled tomorrow to make sure the there are no cysts and that the lining is the appropriate thickness. If all is well, I will begin stimming tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to the 2 shots per day. It is time to get back on the horse. I actually had some negative thoughts last night...................like maybe I should not do another IVF. I"m feeling better now though and am anxious to start stimming. If my appt. is ok tomorrow, I should be doing EC on March 17th..............Happy St. Patrick's day.

Jules: I've never considered surrogacy. I think DH and I will just do this last IVF unless there is a miracle and I have enough eggs to freeze. If that happens we will do another frozen cycle.

Bev/Debra: The adoption seminar was very informative. We were able to attend 7 different sessions. There were a lot of people there. I'm guessing a couple of hundred were in attendance. We keep moving forward with the adoption paperwork. We are waiting for our home study report to be completed. That should be done in 2 weeks, then we will have to be fingerprinted by immigration. I'm expecting that we should have our paperwork ready to send to China early May. If a miracle happens and I get pregnant with this IVF, we will delay the adoption. This means that we will have to redo some of the paperwork, but so be it. I still want to adopt from China too.

Bev: It is all ready the second week in March. The end of March will come before you know it.

Debra: I'm so glad to hear that everything is good with you.

Regards,
Tammy

Tammy, that's great that you can finally start. A few last minute wobbles are normal and maybe even a good thing?? helps to keep us focused.

I love the idea that there are 100s of couples in just one city waiting to adopt. Does my heart good.

This thread is suddenly really, really quiet, don't you think? I'm sure there are lurkers but have noticed Lara and Randa amongst other regular posters are absent....everything OK?

My beta as of yesterday (ET+27) was 1400, just about doing 66% every 48hrs. My clinic think it's fine as it's consistent and ever rising. I was hoping for 2000 but will just have to wait. Just as well the next scan is Monday not Friday as I think Friday is too soon. My consultant said he wants to start considering my last AF date as Jan 23 not 19th as prev. He says that accounts for the low response to stims and this slow-but-sure hcg. Didn't make too much sense to me but I was getting dressed at the time so let DF pay heed.

take care looking for more updates...
Debra.

Hello Ladies:

Debra: Glad to hear that your beta keeps climbing. I had a scan this morning. Everything is good and I gave myself my first shot of gonal-f this morning.

Gail: Hopefully, your follies will take off. I will go back to the Dr. on Monday to get my first scan. Hopefully, I will have a lot of follies.
It looks like EC will be on March 17th.........St. Patrick's Day. Maybe the luck of the Irish will be with me.

It is very quiet on here.

Regards,
Tammy

Hi Debs,

Glad to see that things are continuing in the right direction.Slowly slowly catchy monkey! (I have no idea what that saying means really - but what I mean is things are steadily on the up - which is great).

Hi Gail,

Hope your follies continue to grow, that EC goes well, and that there will be an eggie in each folly for you and DH.

Hey Jules,

how are you and little sweetie? Are we 17 weeks now? Time's a rollin on.

Debra's right, there are one or two girls we haven't heard from for a while, hope everyone is doing ok.

Bev, hi. I agree it is quiet on this thread at the moment. Are you counting down the days? I have been in contact with a local clinic who have connections with a DE clinic in Cyprus. Have you heard about them? Do you mind me asking how much you are paying for your tmt? The Cyprus clinic charge @£6,500, all in, including flights, hotel and tmt. Seems pretty high to me. Is it comparable to your costs?

Gail my follies this time were no great shakes, low numbers, small sized. They did the job though. Good luck with the scan.

Anna, you did a great job with the list, thank you. Is Lara on there? I thought she'd just started meds last time she wrote but that was AGES ago. I pm'd her a week or so ago and it's not been read. Odd.

I hope everyone's OK.
