Hi Everyone

I think af can be a souce of frustration, to say the least. In the past and after many IVF treatments, I have had to wait up to three months for her to appear. Even that was after some encouragement - took the pill on two occassions and Provera on another two occassions.

As some of you are aware, we started our Ivf treatment on the 19th Feb. The protocol we have this treatment meant that af was due only two weeks after my last af. So this time we have experienced excessive bleeding, which we thought was not going to stop. Rang the clinic in America and apparently nothing to be done but wait and see. We had up to last night to cancel tickets etc but luckily for us things have really settled down over last night and this morning so looks like things are finally stopping, fingers crossed. If it really stops in the next day or so we have a chance for my lining to grow to a point where we can have a transfer. The alternative is that there will not be enough time for the lining to grow, therefore no transfer.

Our problem is that we want a fresh transfer this time - after spending so much money we did not want to have to freeze all embryo's with no transfer. Pyschologically, it would be bad for us to return home to Australia with no transfer. It feels we are off to a bad start. Usually I am the positive one but I must admit even I was rattled over this weekend. This IVF rollercoaster does take over your life and for us this is our 7th attempt over more than three years. We are beginning to wonder how much more we can take - just so much stress!

Anyways, we leave tonight on our trip and hopefully we will have our fresh transfer - if not, then hopefully we will have embryo's to freeze.
I will really have to sink myself into my studies over the next few weeks to stop thinking about the stressful steps in the IVF process!

Hope everyone else is having a more positive experience.

Cheers Di

Morning girls.

Well, back at work after the weekend and only 2 new bits of paper on my desk, it's amazing, normally I can't see the desk!!

Glad to come back to work for a rest really, had my mum & dad to dinner on Saturday and ended up with my sister staying as well, felt sorry for her when she came in visit at lunch time so asked her to stay for dinner, which has meant that I've spent most of the weekend with my niece who is 5 and a half months, she's adorable but can't help thinking it's not fair that my sister and her waste of space partner can have a baby and DH & I have to go through all this, I know if DH hadn't had vasectomy etc. etc. but it's still not fair.

Anyway, enough doom & gloom, although it's cold the sun is shining in my window, what more can I ask for!!

Allison - So glad AF finally decided to show her face, how inconciderate can she be, making you wait, let us know dates etc, when you've spoken to the clinic.

Di - good luck, think of you and hoping you get to do a fresh transfer

Wendy - I've added you to the list, hope that's OK

- Allison - start meds for FET March 1st
- Daly - start stimms March 2rd
- Sharon - start DR March 3rd
- JackieG - start FET March 3rd
- Lola - DRing for FET, suppressed scan March 9th
- Sammylou - DR March 14th
- Melissa - March 14 blood draws and lupron
- Kelly - waiting for AF (15th March hopefully)
- Diane C - DE March 15th - 18th
- Wendy - End March / Early April
- Kerri - jigging for AF - starting again in April
- Sky - Mid April

Hope everyone is well, and those of you who and taking tablets, injecting etc. aren't have too hard a time of it.

Take Care

Well I thought I started! It was just spotting but I thought would turn into full blown AF which it usually does. I can't start my BCPs until my 1st day of full flow my clinic said. So I am waiting again!!! Geez this is getting ridiculous. Hopefully I will start today, even though I kinda don't want to because it's my anniversary! Wouldn't make for a fun night but I also want to get started with my FET cycle.

Diane you are right, this is such a huge rollercoaster and nothing ever is the same or turns out the way you think or imagine it to. I am really praying for you that your 7th attempt will be your lucky #. This is DH and I's 7 year anniversary so I told him this same thing this morning. We are praying 7 is our lucky year! 7 also means complete and perfection in the Bible so I hope that applies to us too!

Welcome Wendy - good luck with upcoming cycle.

Kelly - sorry you had a tough time with your neice. I know what you mean. I love my 2 little nephews but sometimes being around them makes me realize even more what I long for. Me and DH went outside with the 2 year old nephew to jump on his trampoline and we had so much fun. Made me really aware that I am so ready for DH and I to have those moments with our own kid. Maybe God is just preparing us for those special moments so we will remember to cherish them and not take them for granted.

Hi to everyone - have a great week!

HUGS,

Allison

First day on this site today - seems like a godsend. Be ttc for 4 1/2 yrs - found out both tubes were blocked, had surgery May '04 - was given 20% of conceiving naturally - has another HSG in Oct '05 and found left tube blocked again - right tube open but damaged. Starting first cycle of IVF now - started Lupron 2/25 and start stim meds on 3/18. I felt like nobody would understand me until I found this site. I am wishing the best to all of you ladies. I just read a great book for those of you that, like me, are new to this process. It's called "The Couple's Guide to In Vitro Fertilization: Everything you need to know to Maximize your Chances of Success". It is written by a woman who has been through all of this - I highly recommend it. Since I have started this process with IVF, 3 friends have gotten pg and my younger sis is trying for number 2 - so I can use friends like you right now!

Hi ladies,,,
I went for my RE appointment today and foun out it will be the last week in April :x So I must wait a little longer.... My RE discussed only implanting one embie since everything else other than me not having any eggs are okay. The success rate is about 88% on the first try. We are going to do the shared risk just in case. What do you guys think about this? At first I was wanting 2 embies planted but the risk of multiple births with complications worry me Any input would be greatly appreciated. :o

PMA and bunches of baby dust to everyone

Hello Ladies,

Welcome to all the new buddies. I hope it is a wonderful Easter for all of us and that the bunny brings us baskets full of eggs!!

Diane I hope your trip turns out wonderfully. So sorry you're having this added stress before you leave.

Kelly L I totally had to laugh when I read of your "waste of space" brother in law. It's amazing the people who have an easy time at procreation!! Shouldn't there be laws for people like that? OK, I digress and will probaly lose an egg for those mean words!!!

Happy Belated Anniversary Allison. Here's another jig for your elusive AF.
Image

Lisa Welcome! I so know what you're talking about. I started TTC 3 yrs ago and since then 4 close work colleagues, a sister-in-law, best friend and EVERYONE at the mall, has gotten pregnant. Ok, so I exaggerate, the men at the mall are not pregnant. I had my first miscarriage before most of them even thought of having kids and here I am still at it! But, it will happen!!! Brooke Shields had something like 7 IVF trys before it worked and rumor is she is now pregnant with her second child naturally.

Well, I have my first US tomorrow. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that my eggs are putting forth more effort than last time!

Huge hello to everyone and babydust all around!!!

Morning all :D ,

Many thanks for your warm welcome and hope everybody is doing fine.

Kelly, Allison and Jackie thanks for putting me on the list. Glad to see a lot of us together.

Wendy 88% is very high success rate. I was told by my doctor I’d have only 33% for implanting 2. When we compare mine and yours rates together then we can see that you have a greater chance of success than me even with 1 embie.

Jackie and Daly, all the best for you 2 tomorrow.

Love,
