need info on going private please

Hi girls, Have been looking thriugh all your posts havent been on here for a while all my live and ++ive thoughts are still with you all though. Have been referred to kings hospital for iui on the nhs unfortunatly im looking at an 18 month wait just wanted some info on going private and the cost and if any of u have had iui done privately would be great to hear from any of you that have love from ang

Hi Ang, Can't help with IUI as we're having ICSI, but I'm at King's too, and am pretty sure I've got a price list at home for all of their private treatments. I won't be at work tomorrow (cos I'm having my embryo transfer - woohoo!) but I'll bring it with me on Thursday and post you a proper reply then. All the best, Beck x

Hi Angela, I had IUI at Shirley Oaks Hospital in Surrey and cost me £585.00 plus drugs which luckily my GP funded for me (so £6 something per description). Unfortunately, it didn't work so I'm just waiting to start my first cycle of IVF, also at Shirley Oaks. 18 months does sound a long time to wait so I can imagine how you must be feeling. It is worth 'shopping' around so to speak as I know Private Hospitals / Clinics do vary in cost. Hope this helps, Love Jo xx

Hi again, I've just looked on King's website (www.kingshealth.com - under 'womens' services) and the cost for IUI with partner's sperm there is £275. I guess drugs are probably on top of that, but my GP funded my ICSI drugs (I'm in Southwark) so it might be worth asking about that too. Good luck! hi i had iui with donar sperm at the liverpool womans hospital im now pregnant after my 3rd attempt,it cost 320.00 per cycle i didnt need any drugs i would advise you to get all your blood tests ovulation tests etc at your doctors as theese have to be done before tretment and cost me 170.00 but you can get them for free from your doc good luck love diane
