Hi Juliana,
Join us anytime!

I now think as long as we are not cramping, bleeding bits out, the little one is there and doing very well.
the scan will be reassuring us all that everything will be fine, i am sure.
I now wish i hadn't wished to feel nausea. I feel like I am in the middle of the ocean in a little boat just rocking away...But since i have nausea, it must remain as it is my own body's way to indicate how i react to hcg in the blood.

Wow... How to entertain twins at 17 months...I think Debra has wonderful ideas. I can only think of Maisy's DVD the way I am feeling right now...

Yes, we are a very international lot. It is amazing how this infertility world can speak the same language of hope, fear and real joys.

Speak soon as i need to eat again...
love

Hi Laura,
Thanks for allowing me to 'butt in' even if I am not pregnant/trying (almost miss it a little when I think of the three of you, but having two and two from my dp's previous marriage is quite enough for me :) ) I am sorry to hear about the nausea, but I guess it might help to think of it as proof that you are really pregnant!
I think you put it very beautifully, IVF speaks the same language of hope , fear and longing. and I notice that after having our precious kids most of us feel that overwhemling gratitude and wonder that they are there. For this reason the people on this site are very special to me...
On a less sentimental note, my lovely twins are turning into little beasts of havoc and misschief, must be the approach of the terrible twos. they run, scream, throw and smile in the same five minutes. having left DP with them to deal with a challenging department meeeting at work, i wonder which is worse.
Hope you are having nice things to eat!
love,
Juliana

Quick update.

Had an impromptu scan today as I've had a dull, constant pain (same side as last year's rupture). We saw the egg sac - in the right place THANK GOD - but it's too early for a heartbeat. We're going back next Monday for another scan as he thinks Friday is too soon.

I also asked for a new beta so as to get more info. They humoured me and said yes.

Roll on Monday! Hope all's well wi th you two?

Thanks Kim. Your response to my low/slow hcg Q. on the other side really helped, thank you.

Yesterday's hcg was 1400 at ET+26, seems low but it's still going in the right direction. I must learn do to the patience thing....

hugs

Hi you two,
Glad to read all is well! Juliana, you sound really relaxed (sorry about the nausea though, and if you DIDN'T have it, we might only worry...)! Send us some chill-waves!
Debra, gosh you don't mess around, do you? Well done on getting some quick answers! Sorry, can't comment on the HCG levels as I never ask about them. But great to see the sac in the right place (definitely only one?).
Only two more sleeps until my scan, I'm virtually counting the minutes... I'm trying to remember what happened last time, but I think we actually saw a heartbeat at the first scan, so hope that'll be the case again. But I know it's luck really. I'll just be pleased if there's one little sac right in the middle of my uterus!
Still got to get through tomorrow, don't know how...
I'm still eating for England AND Germany together and seem to be very very tired, so hope these are good signs, rather than bad ones...!
Better get some dinner now!
Lots of love,
bina

Bina, best of luck with your scan. I'm not going to be around much for the next week as my parents have arrived and the pc is in their room.

Hi you all,
How is everyone? Lauren, all going OK? Debra, hope having your parents around is proving lots of help - especially as you're hobbling along at the moment (toe any better?).
Well, had my scan today and it showed one lovely sac in the right place with a strong and healthy heartbeat! Phew! It's 4mm long, which apparently is 'spot on'. So all in all good news! Now I just have to worry about miscarriage.....wonder if that will ever stop...! Oh, EDD is 4th November they said!
I feel quite relieved, but don't want to be too complacent in case anything goes wrong! Next scan is in 2 weeks' time, so another 2ww!
Hope you are all well and happy!
Best wishes and lots of love,

Bina, that's wonderful news. Lovely! I thought we were only 1 day apart? I had EC on 5th and ET the 7th. I've been given an edd of 29th Oct, what does the pregnancy calculator on here say for your dates? not that it really matters of course, as we know, they come when they're ready....

Foot getting much better thanks. Parents helping, I can hear Mum trying to persuade Maya to put her nappy back on....

Must go but...any symptoms yet? I've nothing new. A sudden queasiness/hunger yesterday but that's it. I got heartburn the other night...maybe that's all it's going to be???

take care

Hi girls,
Debra, I thought our dates were close too, but I had EC on 8th and ET on 10th Feb, so that probably explains why my EDD is a little later - then again Lucy was 10 days early (although everyone kept saying first borns tend to be late...), so I'm assuming a halloween baby...!
Glad to hear your foot's getting better! Lovely to have parents around to lend a helping hand - and great for Maya too I bet!
Symptoms still very very minor, feeling hungry (all the time) and a bit queesy in the mornings.
What are your tummies like? I seem to be developing a little bulge. I must admit I only just started to fit back into my old clothes (14 months after Lucy was born), so now it doesn't take much to burst the waistline again.....then again no justification whatsoever to put on maternity gear, so I seem to be a bit 'in-between'. How are you all coping?
Have a great weekend everyone - lots of love to bumps and babes,

Bina, I've been giving my stomach hard glares recently. I had an emergency c-section with DD and have had a pouch over the scar ever since and am no skinny-mini to begin with. It's obviously not mandatory otherwise all those skinny, c-sectioned B-list celebs' secrets would be out...but mine has never shifted. Anyway, I suspect I've put on a pound or maybe 2. My scales aren't digital so it's hard to tell from a distance!!!

In an vain effort to stem the tide, I bought a fabulous pair of trousers today in the sales. A perfect fit but a low rise so I hope any bump might squeeze over the top. My test will be to stop extra weight sliding onto my hips, thighs and bum. Hence the trousers that fit perfectly today! I only realised after I'd had DD that I'd stacked weight all over my lower half but maternity trousers had been so accommodating I'd not noticed. Lesson learned....it didn't help that she only weighed 2.6kgs/6.1lbs so most of my pgy weight was mine..... :(

Weekend going well. My S-dad is on Atkins and my mum on Rosemary Conley so between us, we're eating healthily! Just

Have a good weekend,

At what point shall we slide over to the other side, if at all? maybe we just stay here? If we go over, I was thinking of a '2nd time around' thread. What do you both think? Laura, not sure when you're back but I hope you're having a great time and your scan went well.

Hi girls,

Just sending an email from my holiday here in the south of France.
Very sunny and around 17 degrees, so very nice.
Feeling quite nauseous and DH is in charge 100% of DD, He will need a holiday after this!
I had my scan done here today and I have good news : 1 strong heartbeat! Cute little thing...
The funny thing it gave my EDD as the 2nd of November??!!

Bina, Congratulations with your scan!

Debra, When is your scan? Monday? I am sending lots of positive thoughts for you and look forward to hear your good news.

I will email again on monday when back to the UK.
Meanwhile, eat well and lots of rest for both of you!

Love
Laura

Ps: The scan was going to cost me 100 pounds in the Uk, and it cost me only 55 euros here, what a bargain!

Hi you both,
Laura, congratulations on your wonderful scan news! I'm surprised about your due date - thought you'd be earlier than the 2nd, but what does it matter! Excellent! Aren't we just the luckiest girls?
Debra, might follow you and buy some trousers that fit now and try to fit into them as long as I can. I must have put on a lot more during my first pregnancy that I thought (I don't do scales), especially as everyone kept saying I had such a 'neat bump' and didn't look round allover...I'm normally fairly petite so any excess does show fairly quickly, but it did shock me that it took me so long to get back into my 'old' clothes. So I'd like to put on less this time. Only thing is that I'm constantly hungry and seem to just want to eat bad stuff (carbs, chocolate, you name it!) and part of me thinks if my body 'needs' it I should give in to some extent....! Oh what joy. I'll just try and not worry too much about it. Even if I do put on a lot of weight I've got the rest of my life to lose it all again and DH does not seem to mind too much.....
Enough of that!
Yes, maybe we should move over to the other side, but I'd prefer to wait until we're 8 weeks ie. released as a 'normal pregnancy' (if all goes well by clinic will refer me over to normal antenatal care in the community after my next scan)....even then there's still quite some risk of miscarriage...what do you think Laura?
Have a great Sunday both of you - safe trip back Laura.
Lots of love,

Laura, congrats on your successful scan. Fingers crossed mine goes as well tomorrow. Will post results of course.

Have been hit by exhaustion today. I feel pooped yet have done nothing. Stunningly beautiful outside - brilliant blue skies, thick white snow but all I want to do is stay in and do nothing. DF and my step dad are busy decorating, my mum is keeping half an eye on DD (but DD is too much of a handful for her unfortunately). I just want to nap....

Bina, a tip from another pg friend is that if you're craving something try to analyse what it is about that thing that you really want eg. carbs and then indulge but with a healthier alternative that meets that craving. I've not wanted for much so far. Am doing OK on the healthy eating, had 2 digestives yesterday but I'd been dreaming about them for 4 days....it's also really hard sitting playing cards night after night with 3 people enjoying their lovely glasses of wine and expensive choccies....

Take care
Debra.

Bad news from us I'm afraid. No heartbeat at 7wks1day and the egg sac measured small for dates. He's told us to expect to m/c very shortly, he'll look again on Friday but he was very honest and said there's virtually no hope.

Good luck ladies.
Debra.
