Not great news

Post by jen »

Hi Girls

Just got the phone call from the clinic - we got a very low level of HCG just 6 they are expecting a figure of 70 - 80. The doctor asked if I'd had some bleeding which I have had, fresh blood on Wed and another bit of fresh blood on Thurs but just the tiniest bit of old blood since. He says he thinks implantation did take place as there is a low level of HCG but that the bleeding was them comming away. Anyway they want me to go back for another blood test on Tues morning but really there isn't much hope.

Absolutely gutted that we've had another failure but at the same time I don't think we've ever gotten this far before, at least they did try their hardest to stick around. I suppose we got about a million to one chance of a little miracle but realistically we know we have to give it another shot.

Don't suppose anyone knows of anyone who has gotten pregnant with such a low level before - wishful thinking. Think it's time for a big hug and a cry now.

Will keep you posted on Tuesdays results. Best of luck to all the 2wwers and stay strong - we're due some good news, someone needs to keep Jo company.

Lots of love
Jen xx

Sorry to hear about your HCG result..but you never know?? On my first ICSI we had a hcg of 5 and the clinic asked if I had had any bleeding..which I hadn't and they asked me to retest in 3 days time..luck wasn't on my side as it turned out that implantation may have taken place but the little gems didnt want to stay..
I hope that you have lots of luck on Tuesday..and I am hear if you want a chat because I know how you feel on this one..

love Becky B

Hi Jen, sorry to read your post. It must be so frustrating for you but keep the faith, and I'm sure you'll find a way through it and will have success in the future. It's so hard though and you need time with your DH. Lots & lots of us are thinking about you - love Jo.X

Hi Girls

Thanks for all the kind words, they meant a lot to both of us. Got the dreaded phonecall from the clinic this afternoon at work to say it was a negative. We kind of knew as much already - I cried before the test because I know as soon as they took the blood that our dream would be over.

Even though we had said this would be our last go, we've already decided to go again. Feel a bit positive as at least there was a little level of HCG which hopefully means that the little embies stuck around for a while at least - we might be getting closer. We'll go for a follow up consultation and hopefully get a bit more info but we've both been very impressed by the clinic (ARGC) and want to give them another try.

I'll be keeping in touch and I'm feeling very confident and positive for the rest of you 2wwers.

Lots of love and thanks again for all the support.
Jen xxx
