Well I think AF finally arrived! She is really different this time but I'll take it! I'll start my BCP's today and should be able to go in for my first scan to start Lupron on Monday. Hopefully I can get my calendar today!

Wendy 88% is very high success rate. That's great! I have always decided to transfer 2 because I just always felt like I could carry twins - the pains and complications would be worth it to have an instant family. But that is just me. You never know if the embies will hold on or not. My only problem was bad tubes so I always thought that if I could just get the embies in the right place they would stick, but they didn't. So you really never know. But I know alot of women have only had 1 embie to work with and they have gotten pregnant with them on this site so it does only take one! I say if you are able to get 1 excellent quality, go with it. It's quality not quantity!

Jackie - good luck with the HSG. Mine went horribly - so painful. But I think that's because my tube was blocked and that fluid had no where to go and spilled back out. I actually had to stay in the hospital afterwards because my blood pressure dropped. I would take good pain meds ahead of time just in case!! But normally it should only feel like mild period cramps.

Lisa good luck! I am adding you to the list!

- Allison - start FET cycle March 8th

This is my first time in IVF - and I feel like I am on an emotional rollercoaster! I started Lupron 2/25, and just took my last BCP on 3/4 - yet my emotions have just kicked in the last day or so. My mom was telling me about my 88 yr old grandmother's back pain last night and I burst in to tears - lol! This is out of character for me - anyone else experience similar things? My poor hubby - he just puts his arm around me and shakes his head.

My heart goes out to all of you! I think we will all be better parents for having gone through this!

Hi all!

I can identitfy with you Lisa, I watched 101 Dalmations (yes the Disney movie) and cried so hard when I saw the puppies taken and all those dogs did to try to rescue the puppies. My poor dh walked in and sat to watch the rest of the movie with me as he thought I was losing it. He kept saying, "haven't you seen this before? I think the puppies make it."

I'm off to my first US. Hoping it's good news. Not much higher they can go on the meds!! Hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday. The sun is finally out and I'm feeling hopeful!

Yes Lisa you become an emotional monster! And it got worse for me when I was on the stimms. I would cry at the drop of a hat and lash out at people at work. It's like PMS on steriods!! HAHA

It's good to have a supporting DH who will just hug you and keep his mouth shut!! HAHA

The 2ww gets better - I wasn't as moody but maybe it's just replaced by nervousness!!
Good luck sweetie! Are you in the US or UK?

I agree with fulloffaith. I wasn't as emotional during the 2ww but it was probably because I was so worried about having a BFN. I too cried ALL OF THE TIME during my stim meds. I even started crying at 5 AM while at my brother's house one night listening to my nephew cry!!

Hi Everyone
I am so glad to find this website! After 8 years if TTC - and 4 failed attempts at IUI - we are going full steam ahead with IVF. Egg retrieval is scheduled tentatively for 3/14/06....keeping my fingers crossed for some good quality eggs! Nice to know that there are others going through this at the same time

I am from US.

Thank you for sympathizing with me - it really does help to hear that I am not the only one putting my hubby through hell over this! PMS on steroids is the perfect way to describe the way I have felt the last couple of days. I have started keeping a journal to "vent" my frustrations and it seems to relieve the stress a little bit. My sis just called in from her vacation in Florida and told me that this is the week she is ovulating so she and her hubby are ttc their second child. They always planned on having #2 when their little girl turns 2 - and that is in a week. But still, she knows what I am going through and I kind of felt like she didn't really have to tell me all about it. I don't mean to sound selfish. Just b/c I am infertile doesn't mean all fertile women be damned! LOL... I am sure you all understand what I am trying to say here. My sis is good person and she is rooting for me to get pg more than anyone but I can't help but be jealous and resentful. I mean couldn't she at least put it off a month or two? Okay - I know I am being unreasonable here. Blame it on the meds - lol!

Ok I finally got my calendar!

Go in for 1st scan to check my lining on Friday. I'll start my Lupron shots then and away I go!
I feel so much better now that the wait for AF is over we can start the FET.
I am really positive about it - thinking good thoughts!

Lisa, I have been keeping a journal too this cycle. It really helps me to let things out and I feel so much better. If I don't write, I find myself laying in bed thinking about all this stuff - so stressful. Writing helps me get it out and then I go to bed feeling like a weight has been lifted off me.

Angel I am so sorry for your BFN. It's amazing you are getting started again so soon. You are stronger than I was! Good luck sweetie!

HUGS,

Allison

HI everyone,

Welcome new comers!

Well, I just had a disappointing scan. Only 5 follicles. I'm trying to stay positive, but between this and having this horrible head cold, I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. I hope everyone else has a much more positive scan.

Trying to stay positive.

Allison - so excited to hear you are getting started on your FET. I don't know much about FET - is the cycle any shorter since you don't have to do stims??

Good luck to you. I am so excited that we can all share our experiences with each other and I pray for good news from you all!

Lisa,

Hi, I think you asked me about FET also so I will tell you a little about it.

FET is not shorter but less invasive. It is about a 5 week time period. I will start lupron after I ovulate, on the 21st and probably go for FET on the April 13-14th.

No you do not go thru thru stimming so FET is easier than a fresh cycle.

Good luck to you :D

Hey Lisa,

FET is not any shorter for me. I start on Lupron, then estrace which thickens the lining. Then they do another scan to make sure the lining is where they want it and then we schedule the transfer. It's alot simpler b/c there arent as many visits but it takes as long. My estimated test date is April 20th.

It's all still new to me too - my first try at FET. And hopefully the last! :D

Post by melliot7 »

Well I have an appt. tomorrow with an hematologist for my anemia. I am nervous. I am supposed to start my Lupron on the 14th next week. This is my 1st cycle I really don't want to have to cancell it. We have waited to long and now to be so close.
