Morning ladies,

I don't log on for 1 day and the posts seem endless!!

Am having a slightly calmer day today - yesterday was mad, spent most of it either in A&E or in an Eye Clinic with DH! - last Thurs he got a bit of metal (or something similar) in his eye, went to A&E on Fri, they gave him some cream etc and said come back if it's not cleared up in 5 days, went back yesterday and turns out he had an allergic reaction to the cream - give him more drops and made an app at Eye Clinic, go there yesterday afternoon - turns out he has an eye infection, possibly caused by the metal - more drops and another app next Wed!! Thank fully now his sight has almost returned to normal in that eye and he has (as yet) not reacted to the new meds - never rains, only pours!

When we got home last night he says "do you realise we've just spent £13 on these two tiddly bottles of drops?" my reply was, "well do you realise that the two little bottles of nasal spray cost £108" - he quit moaning after that!!!

Allison - good luck with your scan tomorrow, hope everything goes well
Daly - was it your first scan?, don't worry more follies often appear

WOW!! We are getting a good long list of buddies. I really hope this is a great month for all of us.

Kelly, thank you so much for your support. (and for the major update to the list! That's a lot of work!) It was my first scan, but it was on cycle day 7! He doesn't think more will appear. He said I need 3 good follies/eggs for IVF and I know many follies don't cont to grow. I am really nervous starting with only 5!! Do you know anyone who developed more this late in the stimming cycle? I should be at ER on Wed next week. Keeping my fingers crossed and praying!!

Lola welcome back! I'm sure your uterus will become more than home-worthy for your little frosties.

 Hi girls

Lola - Are you stalking me my little Octbud?

Daly - During my first cycle i had 11 follies, only 8 developed well and i got 4 eggs. Three of the eggs were good quality but one didn't develop well. Left me with a perfect 2. Remember 1 is all you need. I was upset at first but the doc kept reminding me that he has seen women develop lots of follies and eggs but they were not great quality, maybe cause there is too many. Think positive, 5 will do. However mine did divelop well over the weekend so there is hope. Chin up and good luck.

Hello everyone I found this on another thread and I loved it. Thought I would share. We are Very Strong Women. Just remember, God chose us special women for this! :!:

"What do I think God meant when he gave me infertility?

"I think he meant for my husband and I to grow closer, become stronger, love deeper. I think God meant for us to find the fortitude within ourselves to get up every time infertility knocks us down. I think God meant for our medical community to discover medicines, invent medical equipment, create procedures and protocols. I think God meant for us to find a cure for infertility.

"No, God never meant for me not to have children. That's not my destiny; that's just a fork in the road I'm on. I've been placed on the road less traveled, and, like it or not, I'm a better person for it. Clearly, God meant for me to develop more compassion, deeper courage, and greater inner strength on this journey to resolution, and I haven't let him down.

"Frankly, if the truth be known, I think God has singled me out for a special treatment. I think God meant for me to build a thirst for a child so strong and so deep that when that baby is finally placed in my arms, it will be the longest, coolest, most refreshing drink I've ever known.

"While I would never choose infertility, I can not deny that a fertile woman could never know the joy that awaits me. Yes, one way or another, I will have a baby of my own. And the next time someone wants to offer me unsolicited advice I'll say, "Don't tell me what God meant when he handed me infertility. I already know."

Hi Wendy,
Was just browsing and read your post. Ususally I find it so hard to even confront reading what other people have written about fertility in my local fertility group news letters and the like, I put everything away unread. Your post made me burst into tears, it so sums up the journey for many of us. Thousands of hours Ive spent trying to spell things our for myself, but that post sums it up quite emotionally for me. Im going to print it out and read it when things get difficult :)

The journey is never going to end it occurs to me too. I had a positive result from IVF last saturday after so many years of trying, I imagined when that if it ever worked that I would suddenly be a new person and overjoyed and no longer "be infertile", but I realise how totally crazy that is now. It imprints you indelibly and makes you who you are, and if I can find solace in ways it has made me a stronger, more hopeful, how its helped DH and I to love each other more profoundly and to feel that blessedness in being both pregnant and motherhood, then I can live with infertility as a powerful positive thing too. Thanks for posting :)

Hi just to update you I have been to the clinic today and start the meds for IUI on Sunday with a scan next Friday to see how I am getting on.

Wendy - I am so glad to read your post. I often sit and think about how unfair infertility is I also think that having been through so much if we do fall pregnant we will be better parents as the baby has been really worked for rather than just arriving by accident. Your post made me cry but also gave me something to thing about. Maybe we are the special ones who will really appreciate our children when we have them.

Take care everyone

Dumb ? Ovulation

Post by melliot7 »

I have an appt on the 14th just for lab work no u/s. To see if I have O this month so I can start my Lupron. How can they tell with just lab work. I thought to verifiy they had to do an u/s.

Also, I went to the Hematologist yesterday. She was very nice. She gave me a new prescription for iron and drew alot of bld. She said that if my counts stay low in the worse case we would do I.V. Infusion with iron. She said this really should not effect anything with IVF. And that when a person does become pregnate they ussualy develope anemia any way. I would just have to take more vit. then every one else. so I started on a new prenatal as well. I feel much better now about this.

Sending lots of baby dust out there to everyone.

Hi everyone. I have been reading the posts from the last day or so and I want you all to know that i admire all of your strength and determination. You are all truly inspirational to me at a time when I could really use it! My heart goes out to each and every one of you.

I am new to this whole IVF thing. As it says on the list - I start stimms on 3/18 and I have an appt on 3/14 for a blood draw and baseline scan. I have been on Lupron since 2/24, so I am assuming this scan is to make sure I am not producing follies on my own? I am still learning.

It is difficult to keep up with all of the names on the list - but good luck to all of you with your meds, cycles, appts, etc - I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Glad your appt went good Melissa!

Wendy I loved your post. I believe that too...God has special babies for all of us and they will be miracles with loving parents who want them so badly.

Had my scan today - said all they were checking for was to make sure I didn't have any cycts on ovaries and that my lining was thin. And both checked out! I start my Lupron today and next appt is on the 24th for another scan and E2. Everything is moving along good!

I don't know what is wrong with me but I have been crying at the drop of a hat lately. I cried at a commercial yesterday...at a song on the radio today. I guess hormones are raging already! :P

Have a great weekend everyone!
