ivf cycle day 3 check - no good-sized follies found
I started my ivf cycle on Feb 18th. After 2 weeks of suppression (on 10ml lupron every morning), Dr. put me on 200 iu Follistim and 1 unit of Menopur starting on Mar 4th for stim. After 3 days of stimming I went in for a check. They found numerous small follies but nothing big enough to measure. I understand that 3 days is still early and you are normally on stim for 10-12 days. What puzzled me is that Dr. actually lowered my Follistim to 100 iu. I haven't got a chance to ask him. Just wanted to see if anyone's had similar experience and knows the reason behind it. TIA.
Update - stim the 5th day
Today is my 6th days of stimming.I went in for another check in early morning. U/S showed that I actually have 16 follies at each side. They are around 5mm - 12mm in size. 4 on each side are over 12mm. so I am doing good. Dr is now saying that ' I don't want you to get overstimulated.'

by the sounds of it things are going very well for you so far a good number of follies and good sizes so far dont worry about a thing they will grow lovelly over next 5-6 days just you wait and see
it does sound though like you need to keep an eye open for ohss ( ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome)
this is why they will of lowered your dosages
and always keep in your head that u need just 1 egg to make the baby you want so badly
my wife was put on 150 iui of stims for the whole length of her treatment and even though she only had 6-8 follies as she went through they still refeused to put her stims dose up which she thought was wrong but in the end she did only get 8 eggs of which 6 fertilised and she had 2 put back in and now she is pregnant
so as you can see all thing considered you are doing very well
ps even though she only on low dose of stims shen she fell preg she stil got ohss anyway so the docsa were right to keep her on low dose
you see if they arnt carefull you could over stimulate b4 emby transfer and then they will have to stop treatment freeze you embys and wait for you to get better
