Cramping during 2ww!!

Post by Stacy Marie »

Hi! I am in need of advice to calm my already worn nerves. I finished bed rest on Tuesday and returned to my job as an active kdg teacher. Wednesday. Today, I had to work a twelve hour day because in addition to teaching I had two meetings. My doctor said it was okay to resume normal activity minus exercising, lifting heavy stuff, etc. Now, I a having cramping. Do you think that I did too much (blunt honesty is good)? I feel like maybe my doc didn't understand the extent of my days. Do you think this cramping a sign of my AF looming in the near future? Is there anyone out there that had cramping but still got a bfp? Are you guys really taking it easy after the bed rest too? I haven't done any working out, heavy lifting, or any thing that I would consider strenuous, but now as I reflect on my past two days I never sit down, am always on the go, and am moving from dawn to dusk. My job doesn't allow me to be calm and stationary.

Wow! I am really feeling frustrated becasue I am afraid that this may not work out

Thanks for any advice out there.

 Hi Stacy

I agree with Charlie, could be implantation as this can take up to 5 days. However i think it's best to rest, defo no 12 hour shifts.
I have a very stressful job so took al the 2ww off. My DH didn't allow me to move (which was nice) for the first week then in the second i took it easy with only light activities.
Try to get as much sleep as you can, stay warm and drink lots of water.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Love Jen x

Wow - bedrest on the 2ww? Chance would be a fine thing!!!!!

I test on 15th, and have been having crampy type pains for a few days now, so not feeling too positive, but having said that, i'm on cyclogest and i know they can cause crapms, so i guess it aint over till AF rears her ugly head!

Did take it easy for the first day or so after et, but apart from that have been doing everything i normally do - haven't had a choice to be honest.
Got pregnant with IUI triplets in March 04. One triplet stopped growing at 9 weeks. Gave birth to twin boys in Sep 04, Ciaran sadly lost his fight. Brennan's thriving.Looking to give Brennan a sibling soon.

Everyone,
Thanks for the info!
I am on day 7, so it was day 6 when the cramping started. No blood- good thing or bad? Is there blood with implantation?

I wish I could have found it in me to take off at least a week of the 2ww. Some times timing just doesn't work out. The week before my transfer my school was on a mid-winter break and I was able to spend a week basking in the sun while on vacation. I am a super dedicated kindergarten teacher and I feel guilty for missing as much time as I already have. I know it is silly and I need to think family first. I also think the more time I take off now the less leave I will have when it is my time to be a mom! At this point, I will totally blame myself for working too hard if i get a bfn.

Heather I was wondering if you could tell me what cyclogest is for? Are you doing IVF? I am not on any thing but progesterone sup. I test on the 15th too. Let's hope this is a special day!!

Jen,
It is impossible to saty warm in Michigan. Every time I go outside it takes me a lifetime to thaw out! I am totally thinking Spring.

We all need to stay positive and take comfort in the fact that God has a special plan for each of us. I know I am still working to come to terms with this.

Thanks for all of the support and stay in touch.

Hi Stacy,

Just saw your post and wanted to wish you lots of luck and a very firm BFP on the 15th!

I hear you about the cold...I see you're in Michigan and we're pretty much on the same latitiude with you there! Thinking spring here as well :)

Can I ask--are you doing IVF or IUI? DH and I are doing IUI (we're just waiting to start our 5th cycle) no drugs. So far no luck, but clinic has always said no limitations on activities (they did mention not to take up horseback riding, skydiving, etc though :? ).

You shouldn't blame yourself...just think of how many people out there are preggers naturally and have difficult, physical jobs...my philosophy is whatever will happen will happen...and that I'm sure there is a greater meaning behind all this for all of us!

That being said, I have not had a BFP yet, and have pretty much always gone back to work the next day, etc. So, this time I'm thinking I may take the following day off...just lay around and do nothing!

If this is too personal, I apologize up front, but what are your difficulties in ttc? How long have you been trying?

Again, lots of PMA coming your way and keep us posted...

Please don't worry, I have heard lots of ladies having cramping AF-like pains and having BFP. Image The problem with 2ww is the waiting and the analysing every symptom. Besides, the symptoms for pg are so different from person to person, and sometime very like pre-AF. Image
Do ty to take it a bit easier than usual, though. It can't hurt.

Thanks for the words of encouragement MLG!! I love the icons!!

Jan,
At this point in the game nothing is too personal and an extra intern in the room is no added shock :!: I don't mind sharing my story! Will you try ivf or keep going with IUI?

My dh and I have been trying for about 2 years. We knew I would more than likely face dificulties because I have endometriosis and a large endometrioma removed from each ovary back in 1995 at the young age of 18! I have always had painful periods, too. My doctor then had told me that I wouldn't have much time to have kids b/c i would probably end up needing a hysterectomy by 20  . Luckily, that wasn't the case and my dh and I decided to wait too try and have kiddos! So now hear we are eager and ready, but unable! I tried clomid for 6 months. Then found out that I needed a lap to remove a bunch of scar tissue and endo. I have had one bfn after IVF/ICSI and now we are on misson #2! Waiting for the BFP  I also have a connective tissue disease, which we are not sure if it plays a part in my issues. This is mean to say but I was relieved when they said there was a slight male factor too!!

lol,
