Hi I12b

Good luck with the hearbeats tommorow. I will keep thinking positive thoughts for you for one strong heartbeat at least. The NHS IUI and IVF thing is all a bit confussing and I am not sure that the hospital are that clued up as to what you can have. When we last saw my consultant in November he was talking of upto 6 IUI cycles and the results we could expect with that. Then when I went to the clinic in Jan to talk about starting they said I would get IVF anyway. If this cycle of IUI doesn't work I dont know if we will get another one in before May or not. Also the nurse who does the IUI isn't that keen on us as my husbands sample was a bit sluggish.

Still I keep thinking positive thoughts that hopefully this cycle will have worked and I won't need to worry anymore. I have seen another post on this site from someone who fell pregnant with IUI on the first attempt so it is possible.

Nicky Good luck with the IVF. All that travelling. I feel for you. Luckily as we live near Nottingham our hospital is only 15 mins away in the car or about 10 by bus. If you go by car it takes longer because the car parking is so bad.

Like you I have only told a very few close friends about the IUI. Both DH and I work in a private members club which is run by a committee so have not told any of them. DH having to cover up for me a lot, but it is working so far.

Jan, How is it going and have you been able to have IUI yet?

Speak to you soon

Hi guys,

I12b, Good luck for tomorrow. Hope you get the lovely heartbeats, which I am sure you will... I'm a catholic and my mum does not agree with the IVF. She only knows about the 1st attempt and thinks we have given up. BTW Ronaldo does live about 5 miles away. I was shopping with my friend and I ran into him in Barclays (you know, while trying to rob the bank) To shop in Wilmslow which is an area in Cheshire, you need to rob a bank. The lovely Beckhams use to live near in Alderely Edge which they sold last year I believe and the saddest and uglyiest of all Wayne Rooney lives far too close for comfort. The village is not happy with the thoughts of paparazzi.
I really wish I lived next to George Clooney. I stayed up the other night to watch the oscars live, just so I could drool over him. I wouldn't mind the first time I met my hubby I thought wow a real life George Clooney, both slightly greying around the temples, tanned and gorgeous. I didn't take long grabbing him for myself, much to my friends and sisters envy. In fact they tried desperately to get my beloved to dump me on the wedding day for one of them..sisters, eh!

Hi to everyone else. Hope you're all well.

Hi Girls!

Ok, so now I'm worried about I12b...hoping all is OK and that you are just sharing the wonderful news with all of your family/friends! :)

Angela: been posting to you on the other thread, but just again wanted to pass along that you should get a test, just to be sure. Don't count yourself out until you know for sure...it's hard not to jump to conclusions, but try not to.

Hope everyone else is fine...weigh in was today and down another 2.8lbs! So that's about 6 lbs in total for the 3 wks...! :D

Anyhow, I've only been back and forth on here about a million times today looking for news, so guess I'll head off to bed soon and hope to see something in the morning.

Take care all and god bless,

Jan

Lisa, looks like it's up to you and me to keep the PMA going...I12b--we're here for you no matter what happens. Keep in touch and let us know how you are.

All is well here...gotta say I'm not sure about my body these days. I'm starting to monitor for my LH surge tomorrow, so hopefully will be IUI next week...that is if AF doesn't come to visit off schedule (which she has been doing the last few months!).

Niccy--how are things with you? Haven't heard from you in a few days.

Well, will be surfing around the site a bit, so will keep an eye on this thread for any news!

Take care everyone.

Ladies,

I'm so sorry to have been incommunicado for so long!!! (No I did not run off with Orlando Bloom, but actually with DH, who wants all of you to know, that he has better hair!) DH had a business trip to NYC and I tagged along at the last minute -- took a complete vacation from work, IVF worries, etc and just got back last night. I've quickly skimmed the thread -- love our, ahem "new members" (hilarious!) and all the celebrity tidbits.

NYC was amazing 8) . We tried loads of new restaurants (indulging, especially, in sushi, while I still can...), caught up with all my girlfriends, took in a few museums, and shopped an indecent amount. Have been thinking of all of you and eager to read the thread more carefully to see how everyone has been doing.

Want to send big hugs out to Niccy -- so sorry to hear of your BFN but glad to see that you are keeping the PMA and ready to try IVF (perhaps we will cycle together in April?).

Jan, so proud of your progress with WW!!! Well done!

I12b, I am eager to hear, along with the rest of the gang, news of your u/s -- thinking of you and sending lots and lots of positive thoughts your way.

More soon -- missed all of you!!!

sml xx

Hi Girls...I am back...and I am very sorry for disappearing...it had been a very rough couple of days. Anywho....I had ec with only 2 eggs....so I was devastated...then more wonderful news on Saturday...only 1 egg fertilized...so now I am in deepest dispare...even gave up a shopping trip and laid in bed all day. So after this I didn't think anything for the next couple of days..just next steps and preparing for our trip to Dubai. I went to ET on Wed....and finally great (for once) news....as I went into the operating room the doc (not my normal doc mind you)...smiled (which germans never do)...and said 'you have a perfect blastocyst'...I just started to cry. My endo was at 15mm at this time and he placed it right in the center. When I was leaving one of the nurses said 'this is going to be a beautiful baby'....mind you I know ALOT more needs to happen...but finally words of encouragement and good news. I really thought my eggs were kaputt and I was even starting to look into donor eggs...

Now it is just up to the little guy to do his thing. I have acu today to help with implantation and taking life normally during this waiting period...but I do have moments staring at the photo they gave us :D

I will be on more often...and really need to catch up on everyone's news.

P.S. - I heard Jessica Simpson is preggers?? But who could the father be? (is it you Brad?)

Traci --WONDERFUL news about your ET and perfect blasto!!!! I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for that little guy to stick! :D
When are you off to Dubai? We are desperate for a warm getaway -- hear it is quite fun there. :) Hopefully we can keep you entertained with sufficient enough celeb tidbits over the 2ww. As I was racing by the newsstand just now, I caught a glimpse of Grazia's cover of Jen A.....promise to indulge and dish the dirt this weekend.

I did have a near celeb run-in in NYC. The hotel we were staying in has a VIP suite with spectacular downtown views and DH and I were eager to see it -- one of the hotel staff kindly took us up to have a look, but warned us that his VIP guest was arriving any moment (DH saw the name on the key envelope....Selma Hayek, straight from the Oscars....!).

I had my follow up appointment today with the RE. He is really wonderful -- basically reassured DH and me. He said he would do immunological blood work just to check but did not think anything major was wrong -- sperm looked good, the eggs looked good, and though he would have liked more embryos to work with (I only had three -- two that he replaced, and the third did not end up turning into a blasto), he thought we should give it another go and see how I responded the second time. "You ARE going to have a baby!" he told me which was amazing to hear. We feel inspired and will start the pill/sniffing/etc. as soon as next AF appears (fingers crossed, early next week).

Hi just to let you know I have been to the clinic today and start on meds on Sunday for next round of IUI. Scan next Friday to see how I am getting on.

I have to tell you about the trip to the clinic though. They were really busy so the only appointment I could get was 10.30 and the woman who scans in the clinic finishes at 10 so I was sent to the antinatal department and had to sit there waiting with all these pregnant women round me which was quite dispturbing. How much I would give to be in their shoes. The girl sat next to me was only about 15 and I did start to think that life really isn't very fair when she can get pregnant when she doesn't want to while we are really keen to get pregnant and can't. Life sucks I guess.

There was another patient from our clinic sat in the waiting room with me and it really started to get to her. I'm sure who ever thought out that arrangement hasn't been through infertility. Still at our hospital you have to walk past the antinatal department and the delivery suite to get to the clinic.

It is a good job we can laugh about it.

Hello to all

I’ve been off to a meeting 300km and back. This time by train, so not so tiring and even managed to do quite a lot of work on the way there.
Had to give myself the morning injection in the train bathroom while it stopped at a station. Image The things we do! :? :x :) :D

My blood work and scan yesterday went well – all going according to plan. Image
Started on stims last night. Image Crossing fingers, toes, .....

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend
