I am with you Allison - I went into a store to buy a birthday card for my Dad today, and I was crying as I was reading through the all of emotional cards. I think people in there thought I was crazy!

Am i a march/april buddy. I've got my 1st consultation on the 27th March to start my 1st ivf cycle. Not really sure where to post or if i'm on the right thread just want to belong somewhere

Welcome Wendywoo! Looks like you belong right here. We have different dates but hopefully we'll all get to test sometime in April!
As this is your first time I am sure you will have tons of questions and we'll all be here for you!

Hope everyone had a great weekend of shots, pills, and scans!
I have been out of it for a while I almost forgot to take my shot last night! Need to get back into the swing of things!

Hi everyone,

I have been posting on the 30-40 thread and having read some of your entries was wondering if I could post here also?

I've got my first appointment on Wednesday to start IVF - if we get the go ahead to start straight away will have first injection about the 25th March but wont know for definate until Wednesday...........

Haven't been feeling very positive today as we watched Maybe Baby DVD - a Ben Elton film and it has just made the reality of it all come crashing down!! Hopefully this is just a blimp!

Hi everyone,

Hope everybody is doing fine, and had a good weekend.

I haven’t logged on for a few days and the post has been long. Trying to catch up and my reading skills go as fast as a turtle walks.

Just to update everyone, I am still sniffing and waiting for withdrawal bleeding to come. So far there’s no sign of it, and no side effect neither. It should have come last Sat. as my last two cycles I had it within my AF date. I’m getting a bit nervous now

… and please come soon .....

Will update my stage again soon.

Morning ladies,

Hope you all had a good w/end - this w/end we had DH's kids, we collect them after work on Fri and take them back after tea on Sun, normally by Fri night I've had enough of them, but this w/end they weren't too bad - in fact I could go as far as saying they were reasonably helpful

I've got to take three training sessions this week, the first one being this morning at 10.30 - although I can't say I really enjoy taking them, they do keep my mind off waiting for AF! I'm training again Wed morning & DH has an app at the eye clinic Wed afternoon, so hopefully this will mean I'm not stressing if AF arrives slightly late - we'll see

Angela - hope your meds went OK yesterday

Mellissa - sounds like things the hematologist is on top of your anemia & things are looking good

Lisa - when I had my baseline scan it was to check that I had down regged enough, they then changed the meds to make me produce follies - I presume this is what they are going to check you for tomorrow.

Allison - great news about your scan on Friday, hope your Lupron went OK - it is deffo the crazy hormones that make you cry, I'm getting worse & haven't even started my meds yet!

Hello everyone. Hope your weekends were restful. We had a relatively mild weekend for Ohio in early March so I managed to get outside and get some yard work done. It was a welcome distraction for the time being.

I have read some of the posts in the general forum in regards to Home Pregnancy Tests. I haven't had a chance to ask my doctor yet - but what is the general opinion on HPTs when you have had IVF done? Do they usually recommend not doing them? Do they give false results? I was talking about this with a friend over the weekend and she got me thinking about it. I imagine it will take some restraint to keep from buying an HPT during the 2ww. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts.

Hey Lisa,

Most clinics say wait til the test day b/c the blood tests of course are more accurate. Every clinic tests at different times. Some it's 2 weeks from transfer - my clinic tests 2 weeks from retrieval - so on day 14.

I told my DH this time I will take a pee test the morning of my blood test just to prepare myself. My clinic made me wait all day last time and it was so nerve-wracking!! So this time I at least want to know either way ahead of time. But that's just me!

According to the ladies on this site, some pee tests are better than others! I'll try to get the best one.

Well had another session of acupuncture today, hope it's doing some good inside that womb of mine.

This cycle seems to be going so fast this time. Can't believe after my scan on Friday i will start stimming then it's all systems go to the dreaded 2ww.

Hi to the new girls. This is the best place for lots of advice and support, the girls are fab. Keep us updated were you all are with your treatment.

Hi Ladies,

Hope eveyone is well - sorry for not having posted recently - have been maxed out and there have been so many posts, I haven't known where to start!!

Lisa - with ref to the HPT - from reading this forum it seems everyone / every clinic is different. For me personally, I was told to do a HPT 14 days after ER - I did it about 10 days post and it was negative (I did a test that was supposed to be effective 4 days before your period is due). As it was the test was right and I got a BFN...HOWEVER after the early test I was so distraught that I spent the rest of the 2WW crying and in deep depression, to the point where I wonder that even if the test was wrong, my awful respone and negativity could have caused so much stress that it was actully that that caused the BFN. For me, the moral of the story, is that this time I will just wait and WILL NOT (someone remind me I wrote this when I lose my will power in a few weeks time) do the test early! - Hope that helps / makes sense!

I havent tried acupuncture because I cant find anything around me. But I would love to. I am taking B12, B6 and COQ10 which is all good for IVF according to Zita!!

Glad to hear the weekend went well with the kids!! I have kids also thru my DH. They are good kids but we dont see them as often because they are 16 and 22 now. They have their own agendas

Hi Everyone

In response to LisaB75 question on HPT's i have to confess I would test. When I was getting IUI I spent a fortune on test kits and some months would be 3 or 4 - all being -ve

. I got a box of 20 test strips ordered from the internet because I am so obsessed with wanting to know!!! Each month I say right this month will be different I will wait, I even tell hubby that I'm not testing and shamefully I know I wont be able to stop myself.

I think when the time comes for the IVF test I will more than likely test the morning of the blood test because I will probably get blood taken at my surgery who will then post it to the clinic so I have an extra day to wait. So I'm feel I can justify doing a HPT......................however, haven't mentioned I will probably do a few more prior to the date cause I'm very impatient!!!!!

Have my appointment on Wednesday so will up-date you all when I'm back on night shift on Saturday. Good luck to everyone else.
