Hello everyone,

Niccy -- Best of luck on Wednesday. Yes, fingers crossed that we can be cycle buddies!

Angela -- Can't believe that they made you wait in the antenatal area -- how ludicrous! I think someone ought to say something to the powers-that-be about how insensitive it is. Bravo to you for being able to laugh it off!

Jan -- how is that LH surge? I know what you mean about AF keeping unusual schedules -- all these procedures are just confusing are bodily cycles, aren't they?

I12b -- Now I'm worried that YOU have run off with Orlando...or are you merely scheming to break up Brangelina (if so, you have our blessings). Hoping all is well with you.

MLG -- An injection in the train bathroom -- you should win a prize for most adventurious injection spot! I'm incredibly impressed (especially as I have yet to be able to give myself any -- DH had to do the honors and I would turn my head away, eyes shut tight....!).

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

sml xx

:D Thanks for all your PMA - I am feeling it!! :)

Will let you all know on Saturday how it went as I've got days off and on Friday having a training course on the new Scottish mental health act :? .

I know Im a nurse but I'm not good with needles :? Don't mind giving them but not getting them. :?

Told my hubby I have asked a nurse friend if she would do the injections but he was not happy - felt I was insulting him that he couldn't do the injections - (started to worry he is a sick weirdo!!) but he explained he wants to be part of the process and with IVF he feels all the intimacy of babymaking has been taken away from him. All he has to do is provide good swimmers. So I have relented and told him he can be if it hurts then my friend will be doing them!!

SML - When are you starting - I think if I'm given the go ahead I will have my first injection about the 25th March?

MLG - Does that mean you are giving yourself the injections if you administered it on the train?

Jan - Any surge yet??

angelamw - Good luck on Sunday with the meds - hot flushes here we come!!. Will be hearing how your scan went - fingers crossed x.

Bye for now. Take care.

Lots of PMA to everyone!!

Jen: It's so nice to see new people joining! Welcome! Please feel free to drop by anytime...we've got lots of interesting stories and everyone is in different stages of the quest...hope you find the site educational, supportive, and of course, a little fun!

SML: so what is the next step for you girl?

Niccy:
Just a couple more sleeps until Wednesday and then you'll hear great news and March/April will be your lucky months! :D

Angela: your story about the waiting area was ridiculous! How insensitive... :x . You know...it's amazing how much I notice expectant mothers now...and little babies...god, I think I see them everywhere! It would probably send me over the edge to sit in a room full of them!!

MLG: I second the award part! So far we are just doing IUI natural, so no drugs. Not sure how I would manage if I had to give myself injections  I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to that stuff...so right now, you are hero-material in my book!

I12b: Trust me...you don't want Brad. Too high maintenance. I suspect you're taking a chance on George Clooney. I hear he's been spending some time with his old flame, so you'd better get moving if you hope to squeeze in there! Sending you lots of ((((((HUGS))))))) across the country...

As for me...nothing yet. Still waiting for Surge Day and then off to the clinic.

Take care everyone!

Good morning everyone

Jen Welcome to this site, I only found it a couple of weeks ago and the support I have found so far has been wonderful. What stage are you at with your treatment.

Jan No luck with the surge yet? Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Niccymc It was nice to find out that I am not the only one who is not very good with needles. Still I have decided that with these ones that can go in my leg it is safer to do it myself than to get DH to do it. Good luck on Wednesday.

MLG Wow an injection in the train bathroom, you are brave. So far I have been really lucky as I have always been at home when I needed mine. There are some advantages to living on the work premises, I can just nip upstairs at the alloted hour.

As for me, well I have done the first jab today with menopor and I have to say it hurt like hell, so I probably wasn't doing it right. Last time round I used gonal which was on a pen so very easy.

I forgot to tell you another funny story from my visit to the clinic last week. After having to sit in the antinatal waiting room I was you could say a bit stressed. Then they give you your report to take back to the clinic which is a couple of minutes down the corrider. It is just on a sheet of A4 and not in an envelope so I had a read. In my confussion I thought it said looks menopasal in appearance when it actually says looks menstral in appearance. As you can imagine for a few seconds I really started to panic. Maybe they should put their reports in envelopes too.

A couple of the girls did have their reports in envelopes but maybe they were the ones with bad news, the nurse did appologise for the wait and say that they had had lots of bad news to give out that day so the appointments had all over run.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying your weekends off. We are working today but off tommorow so we are going off to the coast for a walk along the beach in the cold and possible snow, but it will be a day out of here and some fresh air. Even though I work with DH it is difficult to get quality time together as work takes over so it will be good to have a day out.

Speak to you all soon

Niccy - Good luck for Wednesday’s appointment Image

Angela - That certainly was insensitive! Image I’m so glad that I go to a Clinic that only does fertilization.

SML - Luckily here we have the injections in the tummy-fat so they are easier. Image I have to do them myself because DH faints most times he does blood work and doesn’t “relate” very well with needles. Image
But he has been a trouper and has helped me through the rough times of “syringe-pricking” Image

Wishing everybody a great week

Hey Nicki...today (Sunday) was day 10...so should be any day now. :?

Ok, so girls, I have to say that I really believe that there is some wierd gravitational pull around me that is putting all preggers women into my vicinity!

Today, whilst thinking I was having a great day, I see my neighbor from 4 doors down, walking by with hubby....VERY preggers. Hadn't seen her for most of the winter, don't really know her well, but had been wondering why I don't see her walking by with hubby and dog...well, now I know!

Gotta say that I was terrible jealous...my other neighbor from 2 doors away just had a baby in September, so they'll have babies pretty close to each other...etc, etc. It would be so nice to have a group of new moms close by if I was also expecting...just wish I could be part of that 'club' for once. This really sucks....

Hi everyone,

Just wish it was Thursday and the appointment had been and gone!!!!

My hubby and I read Ben Elton's book inconceivable in January and it was very good (about a couple's quest to baby making and IVF - comedy). My hubby said he could relate to this book and gave him a bit of insight into IVF procedures.

Well spookley, one of the sunday papers last weekend had the dvd Maybe Baby which is taken from the book for free. We watched it last night before I went on night shift. NOW IM DEPRESSED - all my PMA seems to have vanished. :!: I got quite tearful which doesn't help when I then have to go to work. It seemed so real to us now that we are going to have to go through this and with only 1 in 5 chance of it working - why should it be us that it works for when 4 other people it doesn't. Hubby felt pretty down also so came to work feeling miserable!!

To make it worse my hubby's mate phoned to say he is having a baby head wetting night out on Monday as his wife has just had a baby girl. Hubby can't even drink cause he has to give a sample on Wednesday. I'm grateful i'm working so don't have to be put through it.

Work has been quiet in are ward - no so in another as the fire alarm was activated by an irrate client!!! So back to reality with a bump!!!

Have just spent the past few hours knitting a baby blanket for my sister in law who is due next week - the joys............................

But now I feel more settled talking to you girls as we are all experiencing the emotional rollercoaster ride of babymaking!!! I have just realised what a support this site is. Thank you all for letting me ramble on and on, feeling like I am the only person this has happened to.

Niccy,
You just need to take some time out to do something that you really enjoy. Today I took a four hour nap and the world's longest shower and really felt great after a crappy morning. At church today there was a baptism during our service and i busted out into tears in the middle of it and had to climb over a row of people to get out. It was a pretty embarassing moment. Next time, you guys need to watch a classic comedy!

I was reading an earlier message and thought of some crazy ivf experiences that I have had! It seems that December was my busiest month of the year and also the time when I was doing all of my injections. Anyways, I thought you would get a laugh out of all of the crazy places I gave myself shots when I had planned on doing them all in the comfort of my home

My first shot I gave was at my husbands work party, followed by an
airplane bathroom,
Children's Museum,
a wedding reception,
and the Aerosmith concert!!!

This last time I was in Puerto Rico for one shot and on a cruise for the rest! You will be surprised by how easy it becomes. I am now doing vag. supp. and find I would rather do the progesterone shots.

Welcome aboard!

Ahhh..the joys of IVF...I never thought I would have to do this..I remember when Celine Dion got pregnant via IVF and there was a report that she had the other embryos frozen for a later date...and I remember thinking to myself...geez that is SO Weird why would anyone do that???.....hmmm....I guess it teaches me not to throw rocks at glass houses.

Stacy- thank you for the laugh regarding your injections 'sitings'...I haven't done my injections in such exotic places...most exotic has been a restaurant WC...I felt like such a junkie! I am on vaginal supp. as well...I hate them! There always seems to be more on the pantyliner then inside...I wonder how effective they really are. I had an estrogen surge the other day and I had this liquid come out as well plus extra suppository stuff came out ....leaked through everything...lovely.

Niccy - Hang in there...it only makes us stronger! My first IVF I was still working and every female around me was pregnant...I kept following them to find out what water supply they were drinking out of...didn't make us lucky but you have to keep going because it will happen.

Jan33 - Your membership is coming up to be in the club! It is difficult to see pregnant woman or babies...I try to let go of the jealous pang..it is hard. And it seems worse around cycle time when our hormones are totally out of whack and we feel so vulnerable.

Angela - I hope you and DH had some good quality time. Nothing beats fresh air...even if it is cold!

I12B - I hope you are ok...please let us know.

Hi to anyone I missed!! I hope everyone has a great week :D :D
