I got scones in and chocolate for Lil P but looks like she's otherwise engaged! Hurrah! Guess that means me and Jacs are up next (unless anyone else has an early arrival) - how exciting. It's like standing in a queue for a scary roller coaster - now I've reached the front I'm not sure whether I want to go and I'm quite happy to push a few more people in front of me! How are you feeling Jacs?
Just days away now and counting!!

love to all,
Cherylxxx

Thanks BigJ - I've recently applied to do a Phd in October and they've just called me for interview on 4th April!! Think I might have to put them off for a while! Suddenly I can't seem to plan anything cos I don't know what the next few weeks hold! How are you feeling? Are you working at the moment or are you off? Are you planning to work afterwards? How soon? Sorry to be nosey, just curious how others are planning to juggle motherhood and work etc.

Hi cheryl

Its so nearly your turn. I am trying my best to beat you, but as things have settled down with me it now doesn't look very likely.
I don't know what I will do about work yet, I am going to take the full year of maternity leave and hopefully go part time. However, despite working for the NHS (supposedly flexible), I may struggle to fulfil my currrent role part time.
Any signs of an early arrival for you?? Are they going to repeat your growth scan as your little one was quite big? I am having yet another next week and then hopefully a decision regarding a c-section or not.

Take care

Hi Olivia,

Have you spotted your countdown yet? Things seem to have really settled down for me too - I thought I might deliver early but things have just stopped in the last week - no major growth, no pains - I think little Cane is gonna stay where it's nice and warm so there's a big possibility that you will beat me. Not sure about Jacs though - she's due same time so she might beat us both! I don't want to bring it on too early but at same time I want it over with - so mixed up! How are you feeling?

Hi cheryl

I hadn't seen my count down and now I have 2!! Its all starting to feel a bit more real now that we have everything ready. Despite my pelvis improving since his head started to engage I would still love an early arrival. I am slightly nervous about my next scan as I am convinced they will tell he weighs 10lb. We are all so near, but as all my labour symptoms have now gone it still feels like an age.

Hope all is well with you and you are taking things easy.

Hi Danica - wow you're suddenly so far gone, it's brilliant, I hadn't clicked how close you are - won't be too long now, this bit will fly.

Hi Smita - just the one essay left and I keep putting it off but it's not due until end of May so if I don't manage to do it I'll maybe get an extension and give it in for June. I'm planning to stay at home mostly for 3-4 years but I want to fit in doiing my Phd from home in that time. Don't know how practical that will be - all you new mummy's will probably be thinking 'she'll learn!' but that's the plan at present. I've applied for a grant type programme where I would be paid to complete it (not a lot but enough to cover the bills) and I've got an interview for that on Tuesday (fingers crossed that I don't go into labour yet then).

Olivia - I'm sure your scan will be fine - let us know when you get any news on possible C-section etc. Remember that they can often be wrong about size of babys so don't get yourself too stressed out - whatever size he is, he'll be perfect.

Jacs - we're nearly there - can't believe it! I haven't done anything to help bring on birth, I don't particularly want an early delivery now what with interview and another essay to go so I'm just letting things happen when they happen. I know what you mean about thinking you're in labour some nights - I was convinced last night that things were happening but it's all settled back down again today thank goodness. Keep looking after yourself and enjoying these last stages - here's to an easy ride for us both and all those approaching their due dates.

Hi Esther - no news from me yet, just ticking away with the odd 'this is it' pain and then nothing! Still, at least I'm getting some practice in - when they happen they floor me so I hope they don't get too much stronger just more regular - wishful thinking maybe?!

Speak to you all soon

Hi hon,
hopefuly it starts for you soon.
I have been having contractions all weekend but not enough to go in.
I don't think he is going to stay until April 18th like he is supposed to but that's ok as long as he comes out healthy.
Hope the pain isn't too bad for you now. I know that they can get pretty intense sometimes.
Take care
Love
Joy

Hi Joy - yes nightmare pains when they happen - so hard to know what it is though cos I have been getting them for weeks now and then they settle again - maybe just very strong braxton hicks? You may well get there first so all the best if you do - you're only two weeks off being full term so shouldn't be a worry if it happens early. Best wishes,
Cherylxxx
