Huge so early

Post by chellejaya »

Hello all

This may sound like a silly question but, I am nearly 9 weeks with twins and am absolutely mahusive around my waist.

Early early on in my pregnancy, I did suffer with OHSS which bloated me up, and I know that this can take weeks to subside, but this is different. My stomach is solid and people are starting to point at it and go aww. I am having to tell them "I'm only two months".
What am I going to be like at 8 months.

Has anyone else with twins had this, am I normal? Am I going to explode?

Any info/advise pleeease

I'm huge too. I started showing really early, and at my 17 week check, I measured in at 20 weeks for what a singleton pg would look like!!

Buy the mat clothes and wear them proudly!

I am pregnant with twins as well and have measured 10 weeks ahead from the begining. You wont explode, but you will get tired of people asking you why you havent had that baby yet :).

Best wishes

Hi Chelle,

I am feeling the same thing as you... makes sense as we are both at 9 weeks with twins and suffered with the OHSS. I acutally went shopping for new pants this weekend as mine are really getting tight and my belly is hanging over the edge like an old guy with a beer gut. I couldn't quite bear to get maternity clothes yet, but just bought a couple of pairs the next size up. Hope they will also serve me well after giving birth. :) Luckily I live in a cold climate where I can still hide under big sweaters. Just hang in there!

By the way... I love the look on people's faces when I tell them it is twins. Some looks are pure happiness, some are pure shock, and some pure horror. But I don't care... I'm so happy at this point that even the "terrible" stories that people are trying to tell me about having twins haven't wiped the smile off my face.

Happy Thoughts going your way!

Hi Chelle

I am also showing alot,i have read that with twins you start showing at 11 weeks and i think will the OHSS you are bloated too.

They told me at the hospital that i would remain big until the placentas really kick in and by then you will be showing anyway.

I am already in maternity and have been since i found out just feel more comfortable as my regular clothes were so restricting.

Good luck!!!

My next scan is 2 weeks on Wednesday and it will be a Nuchal scan to check for anomalities.
After that there is one at 20 weeks then one a month.

Have you had any sickness?
I just feel nauseous and sucking a sweet helps with this.

Hi Denise, Charlie, Jaymee and Julie

Thanks for the messages.

Julie- I am sure you don't look like an ol guy with a beer belly but I understand what you mean. I feel funny about buying Maternity clothes to early too. I am also looking forward to the double trouble.
Most of my friends have just been over the moon as they know how much I have wanted one baby let alone two. I am sure yours are the same.

Jaymee - Not too long to go now and people will be commenting on how beautiful your babes are. Best wishes to you and have a wonderful birth.

Denise - will defo take your advise and wear mat clothes proudly (when I buy them, in a few weeks)

Charlie - enjoy too xxx

Thanks girlies

Hi Jo - you posted at probably the exact same time as me, how funny.

I am very surprised that I have had no sickness at all. A little nausia but really nothing to worry about. I am going to regret saying that arn't I.

Good luck with your scan in a couple of weeks. Let me know how you get on. Would be nice to keep in touch with someone around the same dates.

I have one on Monday and then I suppose my next one will be at 12 weeks.

Take care
