Recurrent Miscarriages without any medical reasons

Post by Roya »

Hi Everyone,

I have had 3 recurrent miscarriages, all prior to 9 weeks. I have had all the bloodwork and scans and all prove to be negative. I was even tested for immunologically for clotting factors and phospholipid antibodies which all proved to be negative.

Has anyone else been in this situation, and if so, how did you proceed?

Thanks,

Roya

Roya, have they tested egg and sperm quality? Speak to your Reproductive Endocrinologist about this.

I have a friend who was trying to get pregnant for 15 years with her husband, nothing was found to be wrong but she kept miscarrying. She had Celiac Diease, which makes her intolerant of some foods, symtoms are bloating ect. But nothing about miscarriage. Finally she found a small website that listed Celiac Diease causing infertility and early miscarriages, she changed her diet and within a month or two she was pregnant (at forty) and then 11 months later pregnant again naturally. This could mean nothing to you but i like to mention it as its not widely know but the diease is quite common.

All the best

Hi Roya,

I have gone through 4 natural pregnancies that ended in a m/c. We went to all the specialists after the third one and were told that both I and my d/h were healthy and that there was no known reason for our m/c. We were told to try again, but when we did it also ended in a m/c. We then waited a year and about 3 months ago a neighbor of my aunt gave me a number of a fertility clinic she went to. She had just given birth to her baby boy after trying for 5 years. I went through a fertility clinic once so I didnt really think much of it until she mentioned that Dr. Grifo was the first one in America to help people with unexplained reocurrent m/cs.

There is a test called PGD=Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis
This test is new, but with good results! It tests the embryos for chromosomal, genetic and other abnormalities before they are transfered.

We are in a process of our first IVF cycle with PGD. I had 14 eggs 13 fertilized and after the PGD testing only 4 came back NORMAL! This means that we only had a 30% chance of having of normal pregnancy without the tests. Everytime I got pregnant natrurally the embryos had some kind of genetic or chromosomal abnormalities and expelled themselves. This is what happens if its not a healthy embryo.

We did the transfer of the 2 normal ebryos on 3/18 and we have a greater chance of carrying to term being that there are no chromosomal or genetic abnormalities with the ones the trasfered.

The most common reason for early m/c are not only the parents genetic factors(ours were normel), but also the embryos chromosomal make up.

We are now in our 2ww. We will be testing on 3/27 hope it's a BFP!

I urge everyone who is in the same boat I am please research the
PGD testing and the success rates for people with reoccurent m/cs.

Not many IVF clinics do this test, but there are a few in NY and one in LA.

I really hope that this information can help some of you.

Good luck to all in your journeys!
