6th day of ET, HCG=0 ... why ????

hello,
i am a 24 year old girl. this is my second IVF cycle and today is the 6th day after embryo transfer. i had 3 embryos implanted, 2 of 8 cells and one of 10. Doctor had my blood test today that showed hcg level equals 0. does it mean that i am not preganant..? is this result accurate or are there any chances of getting a different hcg result after 3-4 dayz..?

I am not sure. What did the dr say??? All I can say good luck. I think hgc level has to be at least 10 to be pregnant. May be was too early for the test...

Hi, I just thought I would tell you that I'm almost on the same et cycle as you. I'm on my 5th day after my transfer and my doctor does not have me going in for a pg test until March 22nd. At that time I will be on my 12th day since my transfer, I'm not sure but maybe you're doctor did you're hcg test to soon. Did they take a blood sample? Maybe you should not be to worried yet since it has only been 6 days since you're transfer, ask them to do a blood pregnancy test on you're 12th or 14th day. I only had three eggs retrieved and only one fertilized, the other two were not mature enough. I had 9 follicles and 6 were empty, so I only had one embryo transfered and it was at 7 cells. The waiting is the worst, I do hope you get the answers you are looking for.

thanx for our replies...
yeah my doctor said to me that its too early to get any conclusions so i should get another test on 12th day of my trasnfer...but this hcg result has made me worried sich.. the doctor chked the progestrone and estrogen levels in the blood also and said to continue my dosage as before....maybe this test was for the hormones chk only...

Good Morning Everyone

This is my ninth day after transfer and I have my appt scheduled for 8 am in the morning. I'm nervous and my poor husband is on pins and needles..this is our first IVF cycle and I pray it's the last one. They retrieved 4 eggs and only 3 fertilized, so they transferred all 3. I have not had any discharge or bleeding as of yet, hoping that's a good sign..I was so anxious that I took a pregnancy test yesterday morning and it was positive, however it does not mean to much though b/c it could be the hcg shot I gave myself 1 day prior to the retrieval. You would think by now the hcg from the shot would've left my body. Keep praying and believing that GOD can make a difference. I agree with sweetness, ask for another one. I was awakened this morning from a dream, and in my dream the Dr was checking the 2 babies and there were 3 with their own sac and everything was fine..so I believe it was a sign and I've been experiencing some symptoms. If there's only 1 this will be my husbands 1st and my 4th, I had 3 children prior to marrying my husband and he had none.

Thanks, I'm very happy that I stumbled upon this site. I didn't know it existed. I can't sleep, very nervous and anxious about my appt 8am this morning..I will keep you all posted. I took an ept test yesterday morning at work and it showed a + sign.....still not getting my hopes to up in the air..

I tested positive today, nurse called me about 3 hrs ago, lft a msg..my 1st ultrasound is scheduled for 3/29. I'm taking prometrium and estrace now and was informed to continue them until furthur notice..I took my 1st preg test last saturday, which was 4 days post transfer, I could barely see what appeared to be a line, but my husband stated that he could not see anything..I held it up to the light and he stillcould not see anything..I took another on that following Sunday, he gave the same response...I waited until Tuesday which was 7 days post tx and it was darker...I tested everyday after that including this morning..ept showed a bfp this morning before my appt...then the doctor gave me one to take and it was positive also...I think it depends on your body as far as when the test will detect something..I was told to wait 2 week..I only waited 1 week, per my Doctor...the other doctor stated that it could be more than 1 that implanted

WOW...!! thats great news..!! congrats..!!
i hope that the ultrasound goes well too..!!
i will do my first HPT tomorrow...i.e on the 10h day after embryo transfer... Pray for me too..!

Hello!! I am 6 days into my first transfer and i am going nuts. I have to take progeserone shots once a day and crinone 8% 1 a day. I have so many signs but they say it can all be from the meds. My hcg test is 4-19-06. i am so ready to know.

I just got off of my 2ww and it was one of the most nerve-wrecking times of my life!! Hang in there - you can do it!

You should go on the general forum and post your test date on the 'April Test Dates' thread so we can all cheer you on.
