Hi ladies, I’ve quickly dropped in to see you, wish you well and give you an update. Sorry I didn’t post sooner but I wrote to Niccy a week ago (via this website, Niccy check your private mail on here) and figured she’d let you know.

Well, the mystery unfolds. Our Ultrasound revealed twins, we were in shock, however, at the same time the doc showed us the screen and whilst embryo A was huge and the heartbeat was loud, embryo B was half it’s size and with a weak heartbeat. Doc told us then and there we would probably lose the little fella, apparently this was common and was called a “vanishing” twin. So, we mentally prepared ourselves all this week for today (2nd ultrasound) – which is why I just wanted to keep away from everything that said “IVF”, this thread included. However, in one week I managed to persuade myself that both embryos had disappeared and there would be nothing left on the ultrasound (Don’t ask me how or why, just the fantastic logic of fear), so can’t tell you how much I was dreading this morning but as doc prophesized, embryo B had indeed disappeared from the screen but embryo A was very much present and with an extremely loud heartbeat, like a drum, so we are over the moon! I am now assured there is no danger to the remaining embryo and encouraged by the fact that apparently a singleton has a better chance in the womb alone.

I’ve just read all your news, it’s wonderful! And so great to see new recruits. I’m still getting all my work in order for my Japan trip so time has been scarce but I will try and drop by sooner rather than later......Ciao bellas! :)

Forgot to add.....lots of babydust to you all...

Just read your message properly Tracii, CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's wonderful news!!!!...You and hubby must be ecstatic!........I'm so happy to see the "30-40 group" Maternity Ward is getting fuller.

And thanks so much for your message above but as far as the "loss" to be honest, I don't consider it as a "baby", that may sound harsh but I didn't have enough time to become attached to it, so fortunately I'm just looking forward to the birth of this baby. My Japan trip is in 4 weeks, I will be sailing aboard a huge Cruise Ship, so I won't feel the motion of the ocean so much but we will also be stopping off in Russia and Alaska before coming back to Vancouver, so it will feel wierd going back to work again.

It's great to see your news and once again congratulations!

I12b,

We were so worried about you. I don't even worry that much about my own family. We rely on your humour, gossip, encouragement so much and obviously we were all so concerned. Glad your wee one is doing well and you are too.

Lisa XXX

p.s. make sure you're still around when I'm doing my next one in July, I will need the push and encouragement from a professional mum to be like you honey. :D

Ahem...well, can I just say....

PHEW! :D

I12b, we were all so worried about you and I can't tell you how relieved I am that all is well. I don't blame you for taking a 'break', and now it's time for a huge...

CONGRATULATIONS MUMMY!

Enjoy the next few months and keep us posted when you can on how things are going...enjoy your trip!

Eminde: waiting to hear your great news! I'm keeping a watch over on your test thread...hope all is well! :D

Niccy:
did you have your appt today? How did it go?

MLG: good luck for tomorrow!! :D :D :D

As for me...nothing yet. Still testing and waiting for IUI any day now hopefully! Also, bad news...gained .8 lbs this week at the weigh in! Oh well...back to the gym and salads!!

And now onto this evening's celebrity news...

(Brad, here's to you kid!)
So, apparently Michael Douglas took a pot shot at our favorite couple, Brangelina, by saying that he doesn't understand why Brad left a beautiful wife to go 'hold orphans' for Angelina and questions how long it'll last.
Interesting to hear celebs dogging on celebs....fun times!

Other than that, all seems to be relatively quiet on the celeb front.

Traci--Haven't heard the Avril Lavigne news yet...is it true??

Take care girls...must mosey on over through the Gen Forum and see what's up this evening.

The list looks great! I posted my BFP as a new thread because I was writing in a few. But I was drawn to log back on to see if there was any word from Eminde? Hope all went well today.

Welcome aboard and welcome back- this is a great thread to belong too!! Ups and downs seem to never end. Lots of baby dust being sent your way!

Well girls, it was a BFP for me yesterday :D :D :D . I still can't quite believe it and was just in shock when DH rang me. I was food shopping at the time - they must have thought a madwoman was let loose  I feel really blessed.

Stacy Marie - was absolutely thrilled to read your news too. Congratulations!

Angela - Hope today's scan goes well!!

Jan - sending you lots of +ve vibes so you get your surge soon. You are being so patient... I'm sure all that celeb goss reading helps - thanks for all the snippets. It's better than my "heat" magazine which I picked up in the UK when I was there

Tracii - how are you feeling?? Your story will give everyone hope.

Niccy - how was yesterday dear? Do let us know.

LisaB - welcome here! It's a great thread and will keep you smiling through tough times.

sml - hope AF arrives soon so you can get started again.

MLG - how was today's scan. Hope it's looking good for EC. How exciting!

I12b - can imagine how worried you were honey. But was SO pleased to hear that your little fighter is looking healthy. Wow - your Japan trip sounds like the trip of a lifetime!

Lisa - hope you are OK.

Loads of PMA and babydust being sent to everyone; you have sent me so much and just wanted to thank you for all the great support.

Stacey – Well done with your BFP, that’s fantastic! I’m so happy for you
Eminde – Excellent news! I just read your results that’s fabulous!!! How exciting!
LisaB75 – Thanks for your well wishes – just 2 more days before you start stimming, it’s a wild ride but totally worth it!
Lisa (Macca) – God bless you, how sweet! well, I"ve kept you guys more informed than I’ve kept my mother, so I know what you mean about the “family” comment :) I promise I will not be disappearing during your cycle, I’ll be pushing you along the whole way. The 30-40 group Maternity Ward has a seat with your name on it  So roll on July!
MLG – Thank you so much sweetie, good luck for your 2nd scan today – sending you tons of PMA
Jan – “Mummy” says Thank you so very much! Sorry to have kept you in suspense, thought Niccy had relayed my message. Your surge has not shown yet, bloody hell! That’s a new record, isn’t it?? But glad to see that you’re staying positive, you know it’ll be here soon.
Niccy – How are you doing sweetie? Hope everything went well with your 1st appointment.

I just wanted to thank you so much ladies for your well wishes, it’s great to be back! The PMA on here is awesome!!! and I’m so proud to be a part of it :D You’re all showing such great strength! Whoever said that females were the weaker sex??? Trying to express his admiration after EC, dh said if he was the one that had to go through this much physical pain so we could have our own little creature to love, we would have made a stop at the pet shop first…….Naturally, that comment bought him “poop and scoop” duty, for the first 6 months of baby’s arrival. Can’t have him taking the easy route even if it is a hypothetical one.

Actually DH has truly been amazing! He’s been incredibly supportive, he’s done more than his fair share in the house. So I’ve been busy doing my work or sitting on my backside meditating, which is not very good because despite being just 7 weeks, certain things have started to stretch and sag or have grown to unusually large proportions, hadn’t really noticed it until breakfast this morning, when my tits got in the way of my toast. Maybe this new odd shape is payback from god. I was convinced he had stopped listening to me last week, so I considered making deals with the devil (you know the thing; my soul for the life of one of my hard earned embies, the regular stuff) but my mother's and my grandmother’s prays seemed to have intercepted that .

Anyway, it's late and I'm rambling on as usual. I’ll speak to you again. And well done 30-40 group chicks with your BFP’s, you’re doing us all so proud :D

Good evening all

It is really wonderful to have you all hear to share our woes and joys. Today I had a really difficult conversation with a new member of our staff. She has only been with us 2 weeks after her and her partner lost their jobs, their used to run a club similar to ours. This member of staff has a six year old from a previous relationship. They have no money, are living in reneted accomodation and are really lacking structure in their lives. Today she has told me that her partner wants a baby. It was such a hard conversation because I don't think that they are secure enough at the moment, even though I couldn't tell her this. It will be so hard if she falls pregnant and we don't. Live just doesn't seem fair at the moment.

hope you are all having a better day than I am. It is lovely to hear about all of the BFP's. It really does help. I will let you know tommorow how the scan goes but am not holding out too much hope, that way I can't be too disapointed if we have to cancel.

Speak to you soon
