Bella, great news. 160 is a really good, strong number. Well done.

This was your 3rd FET yes? do you know if they used the embies in quality order (does that make sense?) eg. that your earlier FETs used the strongest quality embies first.

Congratulations,
Debra.

Good question Debra...I am interested in knowing that too. I always wonder how they really decide which ones to thaw and use. And why it worked on the 3rd attempt. It's great news!

BFP

Post by ahart »

I tested positive today, nurse called me about 3 hrs ago, lft a msg..my 1st ultrasound is scheduled for 3/29. I'm taking prometrium and estrace now and was informed to continue them until furthur notice..I took my 1st preg test last saturday, which was 4 days post transfer, I could barely see what appeared to be a line, but my husband stated that he could not see anything..I held it up to the light and he stillcould not see anything..I took another on that following Sunday, he gave the same response...I waited until Tuesday which was 7 days post tx and it was darker...I tested evryday after that including this morning..ept showed a bfp this morning before my appt...then the doctor gave me one to take and it was positive also...I think it depends on your body as far as when the test will detect something..I was told to wait 2 week..I only waited 1 week, per my Doctor...the other doctor stated that it could be more than 1 that implanted

CONGRATS TO BELLA :)

Thanks everyone. I am just so excited, but have a million worries running through my mind. Like, my clinic says I can stop taking the progesterone now - do other clinics stop once you get a +ve? My last clinic, they said that if I got a +ve I would have to keep taking progesterone for the first 12 weeks.

BTW - Sorry for the confusion. This wasn't an FET - I moved at the end of last year, and changed clinics. I had no frozen embies left, and started a fresh cycle and did a blastocyst transfer.

Well done ahart!

Bella.

Bella,
I too was told that I needed to continue taking the progesterone, yuck. In the end we will be glad that we did it. I too am worriedd because I feel like my chances of having a complication are higher that someone who didn't use IVF with ICSI. What has really been on my mind tonight is the complications that I may face due to the disease that I have. I have a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and since it is an autoimmune disorder there is a chance that my body could turn on me and begin to "attack" my embryos. Well, enough worry for now. I am going to enjoy every moment!
Are you doing the injections or vag sup?

Bella - Don't worry about not taking progesterone...your body (actually the corpeus luteum) produces its own progesterone until the placenta can take over. I am not take progesterone supplements anymore either. The clinic would have checked your blood to make sure...your body only needs 10 ng/ml to sustain a pregnancy so you must have been way over this threshhold. Don't worry just enjoy this time :D :D
