embryo transfer question??

Post by sarah brown »

Am worried about frosties. At the moment Embryo dept is in another hospital where we live but there has been a new clinic built & everything will be transferred there in Oct, great news as it will mean not having to keep hopping from one hospital to another. (luckily 1st FET wont be effected but future ones will)
My concern is for when they transfer the embryos..... Im sure they will be carefull but am worried they may be damaged or lost.
Has anyone else been in the situation where embryos have been relocated??
would appreciate anyones thoughts on this.
Thanks
Good luck to everyone in their journey to motherhood
Sarah
xxx

embryo transfer question??

Post by sarah brown »

kATHRYN
Clinic is only moving 10 minutes away so should be ok. (its in Southampton)
Feeling fine now, everything back to normal(apart from cant motivate myself back in to keeping fit etc)
Its really wird, Ive always had a short cycle, 7 day bleed & only about 18 days till next one(poor hubby)
Since I started IVF, cycle is now only 5 days bleed & last month went 27 days!! (got excited for a couple of days but had PMT so knew nothing had happened) Am hoping this new longer cycle is permanent... can live in hope.

Not sure when I have FET, have day 19 appt 07/08 & the clinic said start tablets that day & then sniffing on day 21, think i wait til next period then have day 4 blood test & scan etc. If all ok i think i take prostegrone & then fet. theres a 17 day wait in their sometime too.......Hopefully will find out more at appt, its so frustrating not knowing timescale as want to calculate when 2 week wait is.
Its called a GEEP cycle, if anyone knows timescale please let me know.

THanks for your input Kathryn
Sarah
xx

embryo transfer question??

Post by samk »

Hi

Although its not really relevant your message reminded me of when we decided to start ICSI treatement. As DH had cancer his sperm was stored at the hospital where he had his treatement. To start IVF at the Lister they advised us to move it from the first hospital to the second ourselves (as it was only one lot we didn't want to entrust it to a motor cyle courier!) Anyway the Lister said they would lend us a container to go and get it in - we thought with one ejaculate ( sorry to be graphic) it would be he size of a thermos flask at most - when we turned up the container to move it in was bigger than a huge milk churn! I think the taxi driver was a little bemused. We got it there safely anyway
