Angela – it’s very sweet but please don’t worry about me and the little one. How else do you think I’m able to write all of this. I’ve been lying down doing nothing for 3 months and I’m going stir crazy! I am impressed though that you are at work through your whole procedure, cause by the sounds of it my work on a ship is probably less work than you and dh do at your club! Well, I’m hoping you’re taking it easy sweetie and remember keeping your head in a “good place” is paramount. Good luck for today.

Traci – Well great to hear from you Chiquita and excellent news on the betas (I know, hearing that good news is such a feeling!), re: anxiety, I don’t think it ever leaves you. The next milestone for me is the 12 week ultrasound , which I do one week before my trip. I’m sure after that I’ll have another date to hold my breath for, so I’ve decided to just no longer worry and let the powers that be decide whatever happens, I mean so far, he’s made excellent choices. Btw, I have Morning Sickness and I feel huge but other than that, I’m fine :D

Eminde – Must admit I do enjoy my work. No matter which ship I’m on, I usually have an office with a huge window and it’s always a beautiful view (even if it’s just the sea). I’m usually busy at my desk, a few hours a day then I relax in my stateroom. This time around I’ll only put in 3 hours a day at work and spend my afternoons in the spa. Another reason for telling my boss about my pregnancy, so the clients know what to expect. This will be my last traveling assignment, at least for the next 25 years so I intend to make the most of it :D

Hi to all the other girls, sending you lots of babydust and tons of PMA. I’m actually going to pull myself away from here, as it’s time for my morning stroll.

Ciao for now!

Happy Friday all - almost another week complete! I swear time used to go fast until I started IVF, now it DRAGS!

I12b - A cruise ship director sounds like a very exciting job! My DH and I are always looking into taking an Alaskan cruise just to see the scenery. Enjoy your trip to Japan and good luck dodging those papparazzi!! I will expect to see candid shots of you in my next issue of People. I assume I am to look for Sumus?

Jan33 and other Clooney lovers - I am so with you. To me he will always be the sexiest man alive. A young girl I work with literally ran in to him on the streets of NY and he stopped and chatted with her and her mother, took pictures with them, the whole bit. She couldn't stop talking about how gracious he was (SIGH..)

SML - It's always a hard call on who to tell about IVF. I was raised Catholic and I have a grandmother who is a bit old-fashioned and is against IVF. My dh and I decided not to tell her at all and, when I end up pg, we are not going to tell her how it happened. Also, I have a MIL that not only blabs to everyone - but she embellishes as well so we have not told her. We have told my parents, my sister, and few select friends. I have found that it is nice that they know b/c they are very supportive and happily put up w/my mood swings. :)

Angela - thanks for the sympathy on the mood swings. I can hardly predict how I am going to feel from one hour to the next - it's insane!
Good luck w/ your scan!!

Traci - I, too, have a dh that does not understand why I am so obsessed w/People magazine. I just find it so much more interesting than Guns & Ammo, and Field & Stream - which are his mags. Not that a double barrel shotgun and the latest regulations on turkey hunting doesn't fascinate me - but I would much rather read about Britney Spears mothering skills such as driving w/ her son on her lap or Brangelina's latest publicity, oops I mean good will, effort. I will take your advice and try to keep my belly warm for the eggies, but it would help if this Ohio weather would warm up for me! 40 degrees and an inch of snow on the ground today...BRRRR!!!

Eminde - regarding my injections - I will continue with the Lupron injections in the AM, and will be injecting Bravelle and Repronex in the PM all in one shot. I understand I am lucky that I do not have to inject the stimms twice a day. I am very excited to (finally!!) be at this stage. Have fun celebrating St. Pat's - and be careful w/all those crazies out there! I have found that green beer does nothing for people's driving skills.

Good luck and best wishes to you all! Happy St. Pat's Day - hope the luck of the Irish is spread among all of us!!

Just been reading your posts and realised that I forgot to tell you about my scan. Well the good news is I have got 3 folicules on the left and none on the right which is just what we were hoping for. They are also developing slower this time. I have got to do 3 more dreaded menopour injections then back for another scan on Tuesday. Will keep you posted.

Take care and have a good weekend

Happy Weekend ladies! Feeling totally zonked today post-insomnia-ridden night, but it was so helpful to be able to "chat" with all of you in the wee hours of the morning.

Had my blood test this morning -- fun, fun. Four vials (ick) to check out immune issues, including whether or not I have any nasty "killer cells" (what an awful name). Fingers crossed that everything is fine (they will know a week from today). Get to start on the bc pill tonight -- feels so counterintuitive to go on it again in order to fall pregnant!

Thank you EVERYONE for the fabulous input on "to tell or not to tell"! MIL arrived this afternoon (shortly after I returned from the blood tests). We had a lovely lunch together and the whole time I kept on thinking should I/shouldn't I? I'm inclined to tell her, I think....though will gage things over the next few days. She has always been wonderfully supportive about most things, as I said, and we are quite close, but I still hesitate. That said, though my parents know, they are travelling to Asia for the next several months and we probably won't be able to speak very often (used to chatting to my own mum a few times a day!) so it might be nice to have another parental figure in-the-know. Will keep you all posted. Anyway, I appreciate hearing about everyone's own decisions regarding this tricky topic!

I12b -- So great to "talk" with you again as well! :D Love Angela's nomiker for your bump...."little I12b" -- so cute! I think it will have to be the group's official name for him/her! I am so excited for your upcoming trip to Japan. I've always wanted to visit -- you must report back in great detail! This particular trip sounds like an ideal gig. High powered interesting work mixed with regular spa treatments. What more could one want (well, perhaps having the Clooney on board with you....)? Am keeping fingers crossed that the morning sickness subsides before you are on deck!

LisaB75 -- You are so right -- IVF standard time inches along so much more slowly than "normal" time. Good luck with all those injections! Wow -- 2x a day. I am impressed. I had to do one a day (and even that I could not do by myself). I start in about a month and don't look forward to the daily jabs but yes, every one brings us that much closer to our goal, right? Hang in there!!!

Angela -- So sorry to hear about your FIL's health. How is he doing? It must be so difficult for DH. Thinking of you both and his parents. SO Glad your scan went well -- and three follies is great! Only 3 more injections -- you can do it!!!!

Eminde -- Yes, you are totally on target with all the "entertaining" obligations. As much as DH and I both really love our families, and even though we are all super close, it can be exhausting playing host! Still, everytime I find myself being cranky with my mom, I start to wonder what my own daughter/son will be like with me when she/he is 36....! Enjoy your night out but do take care celebrating St. Patty's day! :D

Traci -- Well done on those beta levels!!! I think your DH and mine share the same philosophy -- he is always tossing his Economist my way with the hopes that I will read it with the same voracious appetite as I devour the celeb mags (that said, he is a closet celeb gossip hound and we often fight over, for example, the latest issue of Tatler....!)

Jan -- sending you loads of SURGE VIBES!!!! How are you doing?

MLG -- just a few more sleeps before EC. Hope you are doing some nice things for yourself this weekend. Take it easy!

Must sign off for now and start making dinner. Hello to everyone I missed and wishing all of you a wonderful weekend.

sml, Thank you for your kind words, F/L doing alright although he is on daily chemo and radio for the cancer and the stroke has left him in a wheelchair and with no speach. Still that is brilliant when you think that in September we were considering the possibility that he wouldn't make it through the night and he is really happy in himself. We have found so far that if he has a carrot dangled in front of him he seems to make good progress. I really hope that soon we can dangle the carrot of a new grandchild in front of him.

Hope you have a good time with your in laws staying. Not sure if I could cope that well with that. we had to move ours after recent events so they are only just down the road so see them most days but like to have our home to ourselves. I think M/L and I would come to blows if they came to say. Having said that until F/L was taken ill she used to work for us which was hard.

DH has opened up the club tonight so I don't have to go down to work until 9 so think I will spend a bit of time trawling this site to see what I can find out.

I hope that you all have a good weekend.

Angela

Angela – It’s great to hear you have 3 follicles on the left side. Well done!!!! Don’t worry about how long it takes to grow, some may take longer than others but you’ll get there. Re: FIL, it sounds like he’s been through hell and back but is a true fighter. Hopefully you’ll be able to give him the “carrot” he deserves. Keep up the PMA.

LisaB75 - Cruise ship director – I wish that was my job! Unfortunately, that’s not what I do, my job entails me being sat in front of a computer most of the time but I know what you mean about Alaska. It’s stunningly gorgeous! Can’t tell you what it’s like to have Icebergs and glaciers as your scenery at the office. I’m usually on the ship for 7-10 days then home for 3 weeks so going back and forth to Alaska is a regular occurrence and I would definitely recommend it at least once.

Sml - I’m going to have to pass, on giving the little one a nickname (as cute as I12B. sounds), having inherited one of my mum’s traits, I don’t want to tempt fate by naming the little one in anyway, just yet. Re: work, believe me, it’s just not that glam!!! Having said that, 2 years ago when the new Queen Mary II came out, I was onboard for 6 months, on and off, setting up and running Programs and each week, a celebrity would sail onboard, usually with their family and entourage. The only one that left a lasting impression on me was Carrie Fisher (Debbie Reynolds daughter) she’s hilarious!!! And the things she would come out with at the most inopportune moment. Re: Meeting a celeb in the street. Well, 20 years ago my friends and I were shopping in Knightsbridge and whilst crossing the road, we realized the guy stood right in front of us was famous, so we tried to remember his name. Eventually my friend looked at him directly and screamed out “Simon Le Bon” (Duran Duran was all the rage then) and he shot across the road away from us and disappeared into a store. The lady who was beside him and staring right into his face said “that wasn’t Simon Le Bon, it was George Michael!”…..How sick did we feel???

It appears that this site is about as addictive as my celeb goss mags, so I’m actually going to switch off and read a book!

WOW, there are so many posts since the last time I logged in! I have had a few laughs and love the celeb gossip. Could Jessica really be pregs?? YIKES!

Eminde, I am right there with you on the first St. Patty's Day without a great drink in hand. After a really long week my dh and I decided to stay home tonight. This day is usually a big celebration for me because it is my baby brother's B-day (he just turned 22)! The funny thing is his name is Matt and had he been the first boy in the fam he would have been named Patrick! I actually opened the fridge and was so happy not to be able to drink the bottle of wine in my fridge. It would be so crazy if our little gifts from God are born on the same day!!! How are you feeling?

SML, I have also had a couple of sleepless nights as of late. As crazy as it sounds we told our parents, grandparents, and some friends right away for 3 reasons: 1) I have a big mouth 2) We felt pressured to have a baby 3) We love the support they give us. Good luck on your decision to tell or not too! What stress having them staying with you-yuck! Good luck on your upcoming cycle.

Danielle, I live i the states too. Where abouts do you live? Welcome to the greatest sight.

Angela, It is amazing how fast those little guys can grow with a little help and remeber it only takes one in the end!! Good luck!!!

It would be fun to have a "family reunion" down the road, although I am not anticipating going anywhere yet!!

Be watching for another newcomer as I have told one of my dh's old colleague's about this site!

Sorry if this e-mail is all over the place. Excitement and lack of sleep seem to be messing with my head.

Just updating the list. Feel today like I have the biggest dose of PMT ever, must be the side effect of the meds. Poor DH is in trouble for everything he does and I just want to sit and cry. Never mind I am sure it will all be worth it in the end.

Hope you are all ok. I am going to try having a lie down now with a good book. If I feel better later I will post more then.

Well, it's game on for me tomorrow! IUI scheduled for 10am tomorrow morning... :D FINALLY! Honestly, feels like the last time I had my feet in stirrups was...no, scratch that. The stirrups are never too far from memory...

So, this evening's all about PMA and prayers!

Hey Angie...hang in there hun...things will get better. Honestly, I really do think there is a bigger meaning in all this for us...it's just not for us to know yet. And remember, it will all be worth it in the end. Take care of yourself...a good book, a nice cup of tea (decaf only!) and maybe even a nap...all good for warming the heart and soul.

Danielle: WELCOME! :D :D Another newbie to our thread...perfect! The more the merrier! And more support can only be a good thing! All the best to you in the coming weeks!

sml: re: to tell or not to tell...sorry my vote is late  , but I think I'd tell MIL...especially if we were doing IVF. So far DH and I haven't told anyone we're doing IUI (well, I've shared with a couple of friends at work, but that's it). To be honest, there were two main reasons...one is that there's a bit of superstition that if we tell, it will jinx our chances (that's a bit of my mom talking!) . Second is that we've been married so long that pretty much the entire family thinks we've just chosen to be childless...so to spring the surprise on them that we're preggers  (WHEN it finally happens) is the stuff of my dreams...so we're holding out. But, IVF for us would be so much more invasive, more appts, etc that I think we'd have to tell...especially if she was living with us for a while. I don't think there'd be any avoiding it.

Lisa: I hear you re: time dragging...it seems like our last tmt was ages ago...Hang in there girl, our time will come!

Traci & Stacey: hope you both are feeling well and those little ones are snuggled all safe and sound in your tummies! Take care and enjoy every minute of it!

Eminde: hope all is well in your tummy too  re: my vacation...we are heading to the Dominican Republic to Punta Cana...for 2 weeks of all inclusive R&R...we are counting sleeps :D (leaving April 10th).

Ok, so on to the Star...only a few pages in but nothing so far on Jess...is she preggers or not? Brit & KFed --a bump-watch?? What are they thinking?? She'll have to get a vehicle with a front bench seat to fit herself and both kids behind the wheel...

And of course, speculation on the Brangelina wedding this weekend, which I12b has already confirmed for us.

Jennifer: gotta say that the decline for me would have been a pretty difficult toss-up....let's see, watch ex-DH and mistress get hitched, whilst spending the evening with Clooney...hmmm....just how well was the wine to be flowing???? 8)

Well, off to read the remainder and to bed early...will keep you posted on how tomorrow goes.

All my best and loads of PMA to everyone!

Hello to everyone :D

Firstly I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS to the BFP people - Eminde, Stacey, Traci and of course I12B .........................

Good luck to Jan also.

Had my appointment to the consultant and everything is set for me hopefully starting first injection on 25th March (nurse will be phoning when my blood results come through with the go ahead).

I have to take one injection of 18 days then after a scan/blood test I have to take another one - so that is 2 a day!!!!

Lots of PMA to everyone.

Happy sunday to you all. Again I have just nipped up from work for a bit so can't post much. Just wanted to say all the best to you all. Still feeling a bit down today but since starting the menopour I have felt really tired all of the time. We have got quite a busy lunch time at work today and then I am going to spend the afternoon watching the rerun of the grnad prix. If anyone watched it this morning please don't tell me the result, although i am sure one of my customers will drop it out over lunch and spoil my afternoon. Here's hoping Jenson can do it for us this time - We seem to spend as much time waiting for him to win a race as we do to fall pregnant, may be that is my omen and I will get pregnant as soon as he wins a race.

Well I had better get back to work as I only came upstairs for some milk but couldn't resist seeing what you had all been upto.

Take care
Angela

Hey gals!

I messed up a bit on my last post...said "tomorrow", but forgot that for some of you that would have been Monday! Actually IUI was today, all went well, and back home spending the afternoon on the sofa being lazy. The clinic guidelines are "no restrictions on activity" but thought that a nice quiet, horizontal afternoon couldn't hurt  .

Now for the 2ww...testing on April 3rd! :D

And my funny story of the day...so, there I am, feet up in the stirrups for 20 mins (to give the swimmers a good start!). DH is reading a mag, I'm lying quietly, eyes closed, envisioning the 'boys' approaching my 'girl'. So, I have this whole thing in my mind of a 1940s scene...'she' is there, looking all alluring, smoking a cigarette, and greets them with the throaty "Hellooo boys...". Well, I cracked up! So, I'm relating the scene to DH, and he says he thinks I've got it all wrong. He thinks its more likely something out of a Star Trek movie...'she' sees them approaching and orders "Reverse! Warp 6...shields up"...HA! Since this is our 5th try, he thinks that maybe 'she's' doing evasive manoevers when she sees the 'soldiers' coming!

Oh well, you gotta find some humor in all this! :D

Nicki: sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. :(

Ang: you sound very down in your posts lately. Remember, try to keep your spirits as high as you can...the power of positive thinking! Can't wait for you to start your 2ww and we can count the days together! :D

Hope everyone else is doing well...welcome back Niccy...and good luck for Saturday! :D

Must sign off for now...take care everyone.
