hi girls

i have had some good new's today. I have been excepted on a new drug trial at bourn hall with a new drug called lif. this is to help embryos implant. we have had two failed ivf and one failed fet.
will start sniffing about 21 august. i'm so happy and full off hope but i terrible on the 2wk bit.I also did a radio interveiw for radio 4 about ivf it might be on this thurday night.i bet there will be only a few minutes of it as i was a bit blunt about why there is not research into male/female infertility. If they could improve sperm count we would not need ivf and the drug company's would not make their money.

well better get of my soap box.
wishing you all well with your tmt and look forward to cycling with you all....

from july ann
been in tmt for 4 years.Male factor. Have had 3 icsi, one ivf with donor sperm.Went for fet with 7 eggs but none made it to blastocyst. just had 5 DI. test date 27 july

Hello everyone,
I hope to be doing an FET around August time depending on AF appearance .I just miscarried (3 weeks ago) at 5 weeks and 2 days and really want to try again asap. Almost two years ago I was over stimulated on my first cycle of IVF and they had to freeze all 14 embryos. This next fet will be the last "go" before we,d need to try a fresh cycle. So ,life story aside, good luck to you all and I hope to be joining you v soon.
love Annie
PS has anyone experienced overstimulation and then had the protocol altered to avoid this happening again and if so , what exactly did they do differently?
hi fi

lif(leukaemia inhibitory factor) is a substance produced in the female reproductive tract and is naturally secreted by the endometrium during the secondary phase (time of embryo implantation).there is good evidence that if lif is not secreted properly during the time of implantation the embryo may not implant. Since lif seems to play an important role during embryo implantation it is thought that giving lif to infertile woman for several days from embryo transfer might increase their chances of succesful implantation.

the trial is at bourne hall 01954 719111

you have to have had at least two failed ivf and you can not have had icsi.

approximately 150 patients will take part in around 15 hospitals thoughout europe and australia.

if the drug is proven to help this could bring the chances for ivf to work a lot higher than it is now.

the radio show is ment to be on in the evening but they did not say what time.

hope all goes well on the 4

speak to you soon i have never been in the chat room how does it work...

from july ann

Its soooo frustrating!!!

I know at the end of the day its just down to nature but this is getting to be a very expensive and heartbreaking hobby!!!

Anyway thats enough of that. Hi everyone

I think I too am going to be a august cycle buddy. We have decided to give FET a go this month after three failed icsis. I have raised active killer cells so will be on steriods - after three failed icsis we were beginning to give up hope.

I am not over optimistic about FET as I know the success rate is not brill so I am trying to look on it as a free go - at least I won't be going so bonkeroni with the drugs.(I hope nayway but not as much as DH!)
I hope this is a lucky month for all of us :-)

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to wish everyone good luck over the next month and to pick up on what Samk said about it being a lucky month for us all, here's hoping that we all end up on the other side.

Sam - I don't know if you followed Louise's messages, her first IVF was abandoned due to over stimulation, she had two put back in FET about a month ago and she is now pg with twins, that has to give us all hope.

Lots of Love Lynne

Hi All, had my basline scan yesterday and everything is OK to start the injections on Sunday.
One thing we were unsur about -- the nurse said it's best to have the injection in the morning but as my hubby leaves for work at 6am and we have 6 amples it would be easier in the evening. )Hope he gets better as didn't do too well with the water - lol's)

Does this make a huge difference.

Would be really interested to hear when you guys think as we are first timers.

Thanks for your replies , feeling much better although weight is a problem with the old crohns so they are a little worried . Currently weighing in at 7 stone 8 and five foot 6 :( So eating as much as I can force down me.

Hope everyone esle is doing OK, haven't been too bad on the sniffing so far .

Hugs
Cazzy
