Hey Everyone!

I have a couple questions if anyone knows the answers.

When you go for your first scan on stims. I know they are looking to see how many follies there are, but what are they testing on the blood test? A level of some sort. But what numbers am I looking to hear?

Also how many days after your first scan do you typically do the EC?

I feel pretty okay the meds aren't making me feel bloated yet, its only been 2 full days though..

It really depends on what kind of cycle you are having.....There are several variations of IVF and drug treatment....It the case of a long lupron cycle you actually start lupron mid month in the cycle before.....If not generally you can consider egg collection based on numbers and follie growth....In my second IVF it egg retrieval was on day 8 - in my 3rd and 4th cycles it has been day 13....So it all depends....Don't worry about the numbers until after transfer....generally speaking depending on how your clinic does things they may or may not share the numbers with you - I usually ask - and my first checkmark is the beta progesterone check after transfer which should be above 30....beyond that it is hurry up and wait for the pG test

My pregnancy test is scheduled for Tues - and I'm passing the time going through these boards - it's so helpful to be in the company of women going thru the same thing! I actually took an EPT this morning, because I am so anxious for results. It showed slightly positive - which can be because of the trigger shot that I took. Not sure why I took it - I just feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning to roll around. I have been slightly crampy - feeling like my period is about to roll around. I know this can be normal - but when I was pregnant last time - I felt absolutely nothing. That pregnancy ended in a miscarriage - so I am now paranoid about every little twinge. It's going to be a long 9 months (heres hoping!)

Well am due to have my trigger shot tonight at 23.00 then Tuesday for EC. It seems to have gone by so fast this time but i bet the dreaded 2ww will drag. Have had a few cramps in my tum over the weekend and have never experienced this before but maybe its a good sign.

Lisa - How are your feeling? Hope the scan went well.

hI guys
Just had my consultation at the Liverpool Womens. I have come away really confused and frustrated at the time constraints. They told me to go and have blood tests when i get my nxt period, then phone 10 days after that for results, then if i heard right i wait for another period and start DR on day 23 of that one. Thats months away. Have i got it wrong?

Hi wendy

I'd ring them and check that. At my clinic they do the fsh on day 2 of your cycle then you start deregging on day 21 of the same cycle. I can't see why there's any reason to wait another month unless there are waiting list constraints.

Hey Everyone!

I had my scan this morning and Im waiting for the official call this afternoon. But from all the numbers they were spitting out looks like I have 14 Follies over 10mm and 7 under 10mm. Or so she said..

Also remember that Intern I told you all about before.. HAHA he came in today.. He was so funny.. The new doctor that came in introduced herself (her name was Danielle) and started to introduce him.. So I pipped in.. Yes we are practically dating from my last scan. He turned about 20 shades of red.. haha.. but I got a hell of a giggle!

I will give the official info when I get the call today. But I guess somethings going on from what they said..

Also I saw some peole talking about drinking gatoraid to prevent OHSS ( i think thats how its spelled) whats the story with that? I love gatoraid and I would be happy to drink it if I need to prevent something.

Good news Danielle!
My clinic kept me on the stimms til my follies measured at least 18mm so you are almost there!

At my ER they got 19 follies and told me afterwards that since that was alot they told me to drink things high in sodium like Gatorade or V-8 Juice. They said that sodium goes directly to the ovaries that are all swollen and shrinks them. It worked for me too. I like the V-8 juice (got the spicy kind yum!) and I was bloated for a while but it went down by ET. But they will tell you if you are at risk for OHSS after the ER. Or you can ask!

I have a week to go til my next scan...last week I felt like this was dragging along and now I feel like it's just around the corner! No sudden hormonal outbursts yet from being on this estrogen so that's good!!
We had our Baby Fund Garage Sale on Saturday and we raised over $1000!! I couldn't beleive it! I know it doesn't seem like a lot but when you are paying everything yourselves out of pocket it really is!

Good luck to Daly and Tea and Deidre on your upcoming tests!! So exciting!!

Danille - when they take my blood they are checking estrogen levels.
Sounds like you are progressing really well!

Jen - I have been having cramping too - I think it's pretty normal considering everything we are putting our bodies through. Good luck with EC tomorrow!

Deidre - I would say things are pointing toward a BFP for you! Can't wait to hear your results!

Well I had another scan Saturday, and one this morning. I have 9 follies - 3 bigger that 18mm and they want 4 that size before they do EC. I guess this is all good - although I kind of expected more follies. I have to go back in tomorrow - but they expect to do EC on thursday. The bad news is that my left tube has filled with fluid and that reduces my chances of IVF working for me - although it still could work. The doctor said "no big deal" but I feel like it is a huge deal. My PMA is pretty much deflated at this point and I am trying to get my head right again. The docs want to go ahead and do EC and ET and, if it doesn't work, then look at having surgery to remove my left tube before we do another cycle.

So my mood is pretty gloomy on this Monday. I know this could still work - and I am trying to hold on to that but the negativity is taking over my psyche right now.

I hope you are all doing well. I'll keep you posted on everything.

I feel like everyon is scanning but me. I am still waiting for AF. My cycle's are 30 days so I am due on Tuesday. I hope it is on time. I am still going well with the DR. DH is very optimistic compaired to me. I look at the statistics and this being only our first try am not expecting much. Yes I am hopeing. DH says he his glad we only have to do this once. He is so poitive it is going to work the first time. I have been waking up 2hrs earlier everyday now and staying up later with my mind turning. The hampster in there must be getting tired. My mind will not seem to rest. We do have a very close friend that is planning a wedding that we are helping with but it just isn't enough.

I just got a call from my doc's office. Looks like I am all set for EC on Thursday, 3/30. I take my last stimm shot tonight and I trigger tomorrow night - it's finally here!

I wish I wasnt so worried about the fluid in my tube but I am going to try to stay optimistic regardless. I have been having a "pity party" for myself all day and I need to snap out of it!
