Thanks Joy and Smita - it's so lovely to hear reassuring views from people - you can get so obsessed sitting at home waiting and then when someone else says 'everything sounds fine' it makes you realise you're just obsessing over nothing. I'm goiing to try and relax and remember that hundreds of millions of women have done this before me and are absolutely fine so I'm goiing to try and have faith in my abilities!

love to all

Sweetie - hang in there - I know only too well that these last few days can be a tad frustrating, you just want that little person in your arms. Believe me it will happen soon and then your life will be filled with eternal happiness!!

Take care and big hugs

Hi guys - today is D-day but no news as yet. I'm goiing for an acupuncture induction tomorrow and that might help although my practitioner says it works better at week 41. I'm kicking myself about Group B testing - I didn't know it was available in this country and its something thats played on my mind for weeks - too late now and I'm hoping I don't have a problem with it because I really want things to go well. Anyway, I will let you know as soon as any news - good luck everyone else.

Hiya Cheryl

I just wanted to apologise - I bet I put those Group B thoughts in your head posting that question yesterday. I wanted to let you know that I have just have an appointment with the midwife and she was really quite opposed to it and said that if there was anything wrong they would probably have picked up on it in the urine samples - She said that she thought there was a lot of scare mongering about it. So anyway - I don't know what's right but she said they wouldn't do a swab for me as they didn't recommend doing it! So I'm sure you'll be fine. I don't know what I will do now. It's really annoying when all the experts have different opinions about things!
Congratulations on arriving successfully at the big day and fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long. Love Vicky.

Woot well done CC!

 sounds like your acupuntrist is hedging his bets, 41 weeks, i would have thought he could do better then that. I have been flirting with the idea of seeing my acupuntrist at 37 weeks, i would really like to labour natrually for a little before the c-section.

Hi Jaymee and Vicky
Vicky - thanks for apology but no need really - it was playing on my mind anyway and has been for weeks I just disdn't know there was testing available so I'm glad you've brought it to people's attention - you didn't make me worry, it was just one of those things that's been playing on my mind - so has risk of CF. I've no idea why - I think it's cos I've seen horror stories on TV or read in magazines and they've stayed in the back of my mind. As you say, there's such a small risk really so theres no need to get obsessed - at least while I'm worrying about these things, I'm not stressing about labour itself so maybe thats a good thing!

Jaymee - is 37 weeks the time they're suggesting for your Csection? Hope you can get some good support from acupuncturist. My treatment yesterday was great - really invigorating and I definitely feel different - all tingly down there and belly very hard but I don't think it's 'started' yet as such. I'm having another treatment tomorrow and I've got another booked for Monday incase nothing's happened by then. I had needles everywhere - ears, feet, hands, back, head and the back ones had electrodes attached to create a tens machine effect - I'm really bad with needles but it felt great - like loads of pent up energy was being released and relaxed - I would definitely recommend it.

Let you know if anything happens

Hi Brandy (is that right - I'm always forgetting and mixing up names?) Yes apparently if nothing happens by Friday then I see doc Friday for membrane sweep (Yuk!) and will then be booked for induction the following Friday making me 10 days overdue which made me freak but then I found out some hospitals leave you 12 or 14 days so I'm okay now and feeling glad that 10 days is the max mine leaves you. However, there's every chance that it could happen before this - particularly as I'm having acupuncture to encourage labour too so fingers crossed it won't be long. Next few days will be great (as long as it's not Saturday - April fools day!)
How are you feeling?

Hey CC

I am being sectioned at 38 weeks 4 days, I begged for 37 weeks 4 days but the consultants are men and they just say "not till after 38 weeks". All the women doctors and midwives think 37 weeks 4 days would be fine as well. They only do elective c-sections on tuesdays so thats why its + 4 days.

thinking of you and wishing you all the best

Thanks Jaymee and Brandy - great to hear from you both. Can I ask you a question? I thought my baby's head was 4/5ths engaged because my midwife has written 4/5 in my notes now for 4 weeks however I read in a book yesterday that 4/5 means 4/5 free and only 1/5 engaged so now I'm really worrying that I'm full term and my baby's head isn't even engaged yet! Do either of you know anything about what these terms mean or does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Sorry to be so needy - so much worrying me!

Hi Cheryl

Hope you are coping ok with your last few days! I remember having my midwife appointment the day following my due date and induction been discussed. I hated the thought of induction, but luckily my labour then started and Jenna arrived 2 days late. I remember in the weeks leading up been 4/5 for a long time, then went to 3/5, then went back to 4/5!! (Dont ask why!) I always thought 2/5 was classed as engaged, but my midwife said 3/5 could also be engaged. Anyway, never went more than 3/5 on according to my notes, so dont worry.
Jennas sat on my knee at the moment transfixed by the screen. ive now got used to doing everything with only one hand!
Take care
Love kim

I have read that half the midwives say 4/5 and mean 1/5 engaged and the other half say 4/5 and mean just that :). You will have to ask which method they are using. My daughter never engaged at all and i was induced at 42 weeks.

fingers crossed for some news soon
