Jen - 8 eggs - great job!! Hope you are feeling better soon - got get ready for those little embies!

Mafalda - Big bummer - so sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled. I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel. Hang in there...

Danielle/Allison - I have always heard that the 2ww begins from EC date as well. My clinic doesn't know for sure when they are going to do transfer. My EC is Thurs - then they said they will call me on Friday to let me know when they are doing transfer. They said it will be either Sat, Sun or Tuesday. I thought this was weird - I mean why not Monday? Anyway - I am hoping for Tuesday b/c I know 5 day transfers are more successful. Maybe I should be asking more questions... Oh well. I'll find out soon enough.

Hi Sammylou - haven't seen a post from you in a while. Where are you at in your cycle? Just playing the waiting game?

Hi Guys,
I am doing my 3rd IVF this cycle. Took my lupron shot on March 25th and the donor will take hers on March 31st. So the last week of April will be when we do the IVF procedure.
As for the stress and work I can tell you about the first 5 years of trying to get pregant. I was an art director at my last job and we went from TTC on our own for almost a year then 8 months with clomid to no avail. (I was working long hours and not eating right because of work and deadlines.) (I did find out that I had endometriosis but I started TTC at 33.) Needless to say 5 years later when I was 37 we had tried 4 IUIs and 1 IVF with no success. (all during my reign as an art director.)

I now have a non-stressful job.
Just this past December we tried IVF for the second time. (1.5 years after I left that old stessful job) And I got pregnant for the first time in my life!
Granted we were using donor eggs but I do believe stress had alot to do with it. I did miscarry at 6 weeks but, I did get pregnant.

So luckily, my doctor is discounting the 3rd IVF otherwise I would not be tring again so soon!
I am so excited to be able to try again so soon! I am just not looking forward to those lovely progesterone shots!
Prayers for everyone.
:D

 Hi girls,

Well more good news.

The embriologist rang this morning and 7 out of 8 eggs have fertilized, we are so chuffed.

They are going to call me in the morning and decide whether ET will go ahead Thur or Fri. They want to wait and see if the embies can develop into 6 cells and put them back as there is a better chance of it working. If they put them back tomorrow as a 4 cell they don't always continue to grow. The only risk with this is that the embies don't freeze well on the third day. We are in a catch 22, want to get the best embie to put back in but don't want to lose the others?????? ???????

Anyway i have explained this to her and she is aware we want to freeze some. More waiting.

Will catch up with you tomorrow night before or after my ET

Diane - Sorry to hear your news. Your day will come, i know is hard now but stay strong.

Lisa - How are you doing? Good luck with the egg collection.

Rouge - Good luck with your ET, we might be on the same day.

Happy Wednesday. Well - tomorrow is the big EC day for me. I took my trigger shots last night at 10:30 and felt a little nauseous - but I woke up this morning and felt great! I am excited for tomorrow!

Jo - hi! I found it interesting what you said about work stress and all that. My job can be high stress sometimes but I am lucky enough that my dad is my boss and he is very supportive of my situation and has cautioned me many times to take it easy. Of course March 31 is our fiscal year end here and, since I do all of the accounting, that makes this my busiest time of year. I have taken the attitude that I will get my work done all in good time and I am trying to focus on staying calm and relaxing. Anyway - good luck to you on your cycle - keep us informed!

Diane - I am so sorry for you dear. My heart really goes out to you. I can imagine you must be feeling pretty bad, understandably so. Hang in there and don't give up hope. I believe all things happen for a reason and you WILL have your child when it is meant to be. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Jen - great news on your eggies!! Things are looking good. Thanks for wishing me well tomorrow. I am a little nervous, but feeling more positive than I was a day or so ago. Good luck to you with your ET!

Must get some work done now - will check back later...

Just discovered this site - right in time for our ET today!

Post by ren »

Wow - it's amazing to read all your posts and to know there are all these people out there sharing the same feelings of angst/excitement/frustration/hope.

We are having our second FET today though it is not looking good already as lining is v thin. Several cycles cancelled due to this problem but they decided to go ahead anyway this time. Fingers crossed, it will be the hugest miracle if this one works. I guess I will be testing around April 12.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts I've already got from just reading your posts - I'm so glad I discovered this site!

Welcome Renata,

I am doing my first FET too right now. Should have ET around 04/13. What is your lining measuring? I have a scan scheduled on 04/04 to check mine. I didn't have a problem with my lining when I did IVF last time so I hope I don't have any problems with it now. Started taking Estrace twice a day yesterday and then Saturday I start taking it 3 times a day! DH look out!! HAHA

How many embies are you putting back? I'll be praying for success despite the thin lining!! I'm also adding you to the list!

Thanks Allison, my lining is barely 6mm and it's really supposed to be around 9mm with a "triple line appearance". My doc showed me pics of my ultrasound next to others who have the appropriate thickness and appearance and mine is not even in the same universe. For this reason, he is only transferring one lone embryo - I hope it's a stayer! apparently this is likely the reason I lost my first FET last year. I have read of studies that have given women with this problem Viagra to increase blood flow to the uterus - can you imagine! these drugs are bad enough. good luck with your estrace, i feel like I'm in a permanent state of PMS - and the DH certainly bears a lot!

That is it I called today and left a message with the Dr's office. I am on day 32 of my cycle so that means I am late. I have only four doses of my Lupron left. I don't know if they give a refill till I get AF or not. They should call in the morning. I just don't want to be cancelled because AF is never late and now she is. I am jigging so hard right now. I am trying everything I can think of to keep my mind off of it. Work isn't even that busy.

I need happy thoughts.

Hi everyone,

I've been off the site for a while and am so happy to return with a BFP. For anyone doubting their egg quality/count ect I wanted to let you all know that this was not a promising cycle for me. I had 7 eggs, only 2 fertilized and those 2 only grew to 4 celled embies on day 3. My beta on 13 dpo is 70. I'm praying so hard this is the one. I'm already becoming obsessed about the next lab result and hoping for a good doubling rate.

Ren - I'm sending you uterus thickening vibes. I've also heard Viagra is great for that. Just what we need when we're already pms'y and not allowed sex!! Good luck for your little embie!!

Lisa - fingers crossed you'll have a great EC tomorrow. I always felt a little relief after that day. Like it was out of my hands and I could relax a bit. I could see it being stressfull like Allison said as well. Relax as much as you can. That's one thing I did different this cycle and I think I paid off. I'm now a profeesional couch potato. (my dogs are loving this new life of perpetual lap-time!)

Thanks for the congrats Allison. I'll be sending many prayers to your frosties.

Diane - no words to describe the frustration and pain of a bfn. I know you're already considering multiple options and I have full faith in your perseverance. Where there's a will there's a way. Now if only Australia could be a little less willfull...Keeping you in my prayers.

Hello all

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and kind words - I really appreciate that you think of me :D .

Where to from here? We will have to wait until we have a consultation with our Dr in the US. Not too sure what they will suggest. We need a problem solving approach so hopefully that is what they will offer. We may have to change clinics if solutions and approach to our protocol are not offered. I am not keen on doing that however, you have to do the best to try achieve the result - hey!

The following web site is informative. Thought I would post it here for those who are interested.

http://www.haveababy.com

Good luck to everyone on your IVF journey.

Hi girls

The hospital rang this morning and informed me we will be going for ET tomorrow on the third day. I was worried the little embies are not developing but so far we have 1 5cell, 2 4cell, 2 3cell and 2 2cell. :D
They are gambling that they will develop into 6 cells so we have a better chance.

The only things is that we might not have any to freeze. I am disappointed about this but we will find out for definate in the morning. :(

Lisa - Hope everything goes ok today with the EC, let us know if your Easter basket is full
