Hi there I'm new to the boards and also new to IVF! Just wondering how everything was for the transfer and retrevial. I'm more worried about the progestrone injections than anything. I started my Lupron on Tues that is a breeze compared to what I thought it would be! But still worried about some of the other ones. Any advice with anything that wold be great!! It is information overload. A bit overwhelming at first, It seems like I'm always calling the doctor's office for a question. Is there anyone from MN? Just wondering what doctor your seeing if you are?
Hi Mel,
Just wanted to say hello and welcome, you'll find heaps of helpful people here to support you
Good luck with the IVF, try take things just one step and just one day at a time. There are so many things and contingencies to worry and think about, that if you can just try to take one little step at a time it stops you spinning out and stressing a little. Get all the info you need from your doc and the forum so your informed, but I would say try not to ancipate or worry too much about about next steps and injections until you get there. Small steps, each day is progress and taking you one step closer!
There are good threads for currently monthly buddie threads where there is a bunch of people going through the steps of IUI and IVF.
All the best to you! Wishing you heaps of luck and babydust, theres a big fat positive result for you at the end of it all!

Hi Mel, I agree with what Mel said when she said to take it one step at a time. Before each step of the process I'd research what to except, what it was like, and what questions to ask, etc.
The lupron injections are a nice starting point and each of the injections you'll do next will all seem fairly easy. You get used to them. I'll still doing the progesterone injections in my muscle and I'm so used to them it's nothing now.
The retreival is simple because generally you are under anesthesia so you don't feel anything. I slept most of the day after that, but had no pain, etc. The trasnfer is actually fun because my doc let me watch it on the screen as he transferred the embryos in. The only tough part of that is that you had to have a full bladder so I had to pee so bad the whole time.
The whole process will feel like a roller coaster to you. Ups and downs. Scary times. Worry. Some good news. Some not so good news. Try to stay calm and relax and not worry about it.
Good luck!!

Hi Mel, and welcome to the site.
As the process unfolds you get more and more information. As the other girls said try to take one step at a time. Easier said than done we know
One book to read would be 'fertility and conception' by Zita West. You will probably see ladies refering to it on this site. It is really easy to read and explains the whole process in straight forward steps. Lots of advice too!
You may like to join a thread with other ladies cycling at the same time as you. Ask any question, there is usually someone who can help.
Wishing you lots of luck with your tmt. Here's to a BFP!!!
