acupuncture

Post by JULES K »

Hi Girlies,

I recently underwent my first course of ICSI which unfortunately failed. I am looking to start another course in the near future and am very interested in trying to maximise my chances next time. I have read in some of the other threads about people taking Marilyn Glenville Fertility Plus and baby asprin as a fertility aid. Can anybody give me any more info re this, what does the asprin do ?

I have also read that acupuncture can be a very effective aid. Has anybody any experience of acupuncture with regard to IVF/ICSI ?
Do you only have it at EC or ET or is it an ongoing programme and should be started before your treatment ?

I would be very grateful for any advice anyone has.

Love

Julie.

Julie,
This sounds just like a post that I wrote after my first failed ICSI in Feb!

My DH went straight out the next day and got the Marilyn Glenville book and we went to see one of her nutritionalists who started us on the tablets. We also went organic and both had a course of accupuncture (however my clinic discouraged me from having accupuncture during the cycle itself).

Then we went for ICSI again and got a positive result at the end of June. Unfortunately this Thurs a scan revealed that my pregnancy was not developing and I had a D&C later that day.

Although things have gone wrong for us, I think we both feel that doing all of the above was worthwhile and that they increased our chances. We both felt healthier (and were told that we looked better!) and although we are now drowning our sorrows with alcohol and takeaways, it won't be long before we get back to our old routine.

Hope this helps a bit.
Rach.

[Edited by Rachael on 26-Jul-03 21:43]

Jules

Hello again!

Here is the website for the vitamins/books.

Hope you managed to find an acupuncturist in your local area, if not it may be worth asking your GP/surgery for a recommendation.

http://www.marilynglenville.com/

All the very best of luck!

D x
